THANK YOU, JAN YAGER! I'VE LOST 30 LBS IN THREE MONTHS AND I'M STILL GOING! I listen to your audiotape repeatedly and it still motivates me. Everytime I listen to it, I hear something new that hadn't sunk in before. For years the numbers on my scale didn't budge. The only thing that did was the scale trying to jump out of the way and scream everytime I approached it. The seven principles of managing weight are simply listed and explained by the author. This is not a diet. It is an audiotape designed to tell you what worked for the author(who has successfully lost 75 pounds). At first, I was trying to analyze which principle was the best, but I found that the combination of the seven AND FOLLOWING THEM with a strong commitment is the key to lifelong weight management. Thanks Again. Jan Yager changed my life forever.

While The Dakota Diet may not include all the answers to weight-loss questions, the author does provide thought-provoking information that can be motivating to those of us who want to shed pounds. It's an easy read, full of suggestions that can, if readers choose to follow them, lead to a healthier lifestyle.

I have had this book for a long time. I have read it many times. It has kept me on track because it makes so much sense without getting medically specific. In short, it was written for the average person. Everything I eat is on David's "Yes" list and I do my best to stay away from his "No" list. Thanks David.

I never knew dieting could be so fun and easy. I have tried every diet out there and this is the first one that really works for me. It's amazing how if you change the way the way your mind sees your body you can completely change the way you look and feel about yourself.

Bill Banks led a deliverance ministry in a backroom of a Christian bookshop, and often helped people with spiritual problems relating to weight. He gives many examples of people he helped, starting with Mary. Mary, the wife of a young pastor wanted deliverance from an eating problem. Every time she tried to slim down for the summer season, she went berserk and ate absolutely everything in sight. Banks was able to discern there was an evil spirit 'of the fear of starvation' that entered as an infant. As a baby she developed a fear of starving because her mother had an insufficient milk supply. This fear lay dormant as a child until Mary tried to diet as an adult. She was afraid she would go hungry so ate like crazy. Since his first encounter with the spirit, Banks has seen it various times affecting other people. He also discovered this evil spirit can enter someone as an adult.
Bill gives a list of several reasons people are overweight including spiritual reasons and emotional ones. The author also talks about the importance of self-control, which he says is probably the most unpopular fruit of the spirit.
The book has three helpful appendixes on `weight control tips', `power scriptures' and `index of spirits encountered'. However the page numbers in the index don't correspond to the actual page numbers in the book! Some of the stranger spirits Banks encountered were `fear of dying in captivity in a foreign land', `feeding hate', `little girl spirit', and `murder'. He discovered spirits are often inherited from parents or there is a second spirit of the same problem. He also observed that the spirit of gluttony was often suspected but it was actually another spirit.

As a participant in the Weigh-Down Diet I highly recommend this book as an encouraging addition. It is so beautifully written, so inspiring, it is almost impossible to put down!

BUY THIS BOOK OR JUST SEND THIS GAL MONEY! For those of you who have not had the privilege of reading Ms. Jones' editorials in the Western Mail, you are really missing something. Hannah is a crackerjack writer (perhaps even visionary) and a keen observer of human behaviour (especially her own). Tbe wit of Oscar Wilde, the passion of Anais Ninn and the relative remorselessness of Nabakov. Mona Lisa Jones, as I like to refer to her, will keep you grinning from ear to ear with a barrage of self-effacing epiphanies. Her words are a constant thrill to the eyballs. Nothing contrived here, just sheer delight for Britain's most natural writer.

I have tried this uncomplicated method of weight loss for the last 2 months and have lost 8 pounds so far. My husband has also tried it and has lost about 15 pounds! It really works and it is very simple - just keep track of your calories - ingoing and outgoing - Be aware of what you are eating and the calories that each food item has! Educate yourself! It really works and is very simple - the book is short and easy to read - try it ! It could change your life!
