This was an extremely informative, and well written review of the field of space memorabilia. The writer brings a deft touch and fine insights to the topic. And trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

Actually, I'm the author of this piece. It's a rewrite of the term paper from my undergraduate rhetorical criticism class, under the tutelage of Dr. Jeff Bass at Baylor University. It's over a decade old, and probably high time I published something to go along with it and not make it look so lonely.

Very instructive. I'll be purchasing a voice typing package for book writing and I now feel armed with enough information to make a wise choice.

Student's enjoy using this format to learn math algorithms. I use it as a reward.

Don't bother buying the digital. All Amazon will send you for $6 is an abstract less than 100 words and the reference info. This purchase has caused me great great disappointment in the integrity of Amazon. I am going to the library to get this article for free...Amazon books has not lived up to their former reputation. Save yourself a few bucks and time.
The problem wasn't the author, it is Amazon.

This article by Joseph H. Cooper, a gifted writer with a clear, genuine voice, is the opposite of political spin and of the reality shows on t.v. Cooper writes about life as it is. Reading this article, one can feel the pain and uncertainty of a father struggling to cope with a new economic reality. No statistic from politicians about how well the economy is doing can distract from the reality of this father's life. There is, perhaps, nothing remarkable about the father's flight. Many others are much worse off. And that is, I suppose, part of the point. This article is about one father and his son, but with just a modest amount of empathy and imagination, perhaps the reader can glimpse what life is like for millions of decent people who have no economic power and who are on the receiving end of blows struck by an efficient, uncaring invisible hand.

a wonderful intro to a necessary voice in our landscape. Dr. Jackson presents and posits a world of possibilities, histories missed in the telling, voices offstage that need to be heard. She eloquently captures the voice, the aura, the point in time and the scene we were or are living in beautifully. Whether in Soweto, Palestine, Kingston, Bed Stuy, in Haiku or in the Sea Islands, we run with her, the spirit, the story and the poetry. Thank you for the gift you share!

This excerpt is from one of the finest autobiographies I know. Appelfeld tells of the eight - year old Jewish child who had to survive on his own and avoid being captured by the Nazis. There are many harrowing parts to the story, and many instances of horrible human cruelty. That Appelfeld emerged from these early years not only to become an important writer but to become a considerable human being is a miracle. For anyone who has read this excerpt I strongly recommend the book as a whole.
