There are lots of pictures for me to better understand what the author is trying to say. It is depicted in point style makes it so easy for me the grasp the ideas immediately. The book is perfect for beginners like me to understand. One thing just bothers me, the book is quite heavy for me to prop up reading and this could be attributed to the quality of the paper used. Would not hesitate to make this book a must for friends and family members who are looking for properties.

Best two feng shui books i've ever read (Feng Shui for Homebuyers Interior and Exterior) - as i've just decided to buy my first house, i thought to myself "where should i start?" what should i look for in a house if it were to be good feng shui?

With the easy guidelines presented in the book, the process of selecting a house with average feng shui compared to a house with good feng shui is simplified. Once again, Joey Yap has manage to relate the contents of the book to new home buyers or even just for anyone who intends to pick up feng shui, these two books (Interior and Exterior) is a good place to start.

Highly recommended! Kudos!

Patricia Eslava Vessey shows us intentionality in making your life become what you want it to be and Ken Piazza Malchiodi teaches that unconditional love means sensitivity toward those who we tend to ignore. Patricia was my "retirement" coach - I went from fear and trembling into a satisfying retirement life! Get a life coach - it is well worth it.

I purchased this book because I know one of the contributing authors--Patricia Eslava Vessey "Discovering Your Core Heart Essence (CHE).

I have had the opportunity of working with her on a personal training level, and liked her outlook on life, it's challenges, and how you can take a "bad" situation and use that as a springboard to find your "CHE."

This book is a great gift for those around you that are in a "rut." I like the different chapters, all written by different authors. It gives a different perspective and anyone who picks up this book will relate to at least one, if not more, of the chapters in this quick and easy ready!

I keep it in the bag I carry with me. Anytime I need a break from the stress, or just need a "pick me up" I refer to one of the chapters. I like the different writing styles, the book is written from their experiences, while at the same time keeps it "real" without getting too "clinical."

In The Highest And The Best: A Gifted healer's Vision Of Third-Millennium Medicine And Humanity's Intuitive Evolution, private-practice, intuitive healer and counselor Sallie Christensen (with the assistance of professional writer and editor Gina Hillier) draws upon her more than 20 years of experience and expertise to reveal a new way of living in the 21st century as she explores why the use of intuition will become commonplace in the third millennium. She explains that men and women will evolve into "three-dimensional" beings with a balance of body, mind, and spirit. The Highest And The Best is thoughtful, through-provoking, as insightful as it is ground-breaking, and highly recommended reading for all students of alternative medicine and metaphysical philosophies.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

Your book has just traveled with me through Havana, the beaches of southern Cuba, a hostel in Trinadad, and thru Quito, Ecuador. What a wondrous journey into better knowing your unique self and clues into the near future. Your thought-provoking and well researched book sends the reader on a path of hope, powered by faith, and built on love.

As an alternative practitioner (I'm an ethnopharmacist, a clinical and natural pharmacist, president/founder of the Student Rainforest Fund and pharmacy specialist for World Health Mission), always trying to be more intuitive, you gave me useful tools and plenty of food for thought. I particularly like your sentence at the end of page 66, "in short our greatest cures will come from honesty, compassion and love." Great words. I find them working wonders in my practice and in my life as I've tried to adopt them more. The great sage RUMI says on page 70, "so necessitious one, increase your need." How profound! but someday if mankind can tryly follow the 'path' to enlightenment then the "need" of doing anything will vanish, there will be no 'doing,' and all that remains will be the 'being.' Thanks for the lesson.

The Highest and The Best consists primarily of intuitive healer Christensen's personal story and vision for a future in which all human beings are balanced in mind, body and spirit. But it also lists valuable resources including "one-minute 'intuition-sharpening' tools" and a section titled "The New Language of Health," which defines and explains many complementary therapies.

The Highest and the Best is a fascinating book that takes you into the life of an extraordinary woman. The authors give factual information, but the best parts are stories of the actual people she has helped and the story of her life. Sallie offers insights into the world of medicine and spirituality. I have always loved the teachings of Pastor Kenneth Hagin and this book only added to my admiration of a very Godly man.

Pastor Hagin shares with the reader his actual death, leaving his body and coming to the gates of Hell. Talk about scary!
He speaks of his early walk with the Lord and begins to share with the reader many visions and visitations he has had with Jesus Himself. Sound fishy? Not on your life!

I can only tell you this. Through the years I have studies under teachings of Pastor Hagin and know of His knowledge of God's Word and his relationship with Jesus. The man would never disrespect the Lord by telling something that never occurred.

If you are interested in the supernatural, you need to turn to this book for a healthy dose.
You will learn much about the Lord and His Word and how to apply it to your life. I loved this book! It was great!

Caution: Reading this book could change your LIFE forever!

Fascinating details of Kenneth Hagin actually dying, leaving his body and going to the place the Bible discribes as hell. And he's one of the very few people to come back to tell about it. The authenticity of times, dates, and comments, for instance, that Kenneth Hagin heard while out of his body, have been verified by many witnesses to the exact second! Details about his miraculous healing are given, in addition to many other supernatural events. This book is for everyone at any spiritual age or level of understanding and is written in easy-to-understand "plain 'ol English"! If you're new to the Lord's teaching on spirit, mind and body, then this book should be your introduction to the Kenneth Hagin "Spirit,Mind And Body" series. Like any Kenneth E. Hagin book you read, I Believe In Visions teaches and gives scripture for clarification almost every other paragraph.

Good book recognizing visions; don't base theology on them

Review Date: 2002-09-04
Kenneth Hagin, long regarded as the Father of the Faith movement, does a service to those who know that the Lord still moves in the area of visions and dreams as The Book of Acts tells us.

Hagin relates several visions that the Lord has given him that influenced his life and ministry. Some no doubt are valid. But what some have done is hold up the visions that one man has had to substantiate theology or certain teaching. This is dangerous.

For instance, for many years I held to a certain belief even though scripture seemed to teach the opposite; but because Hagin had the vision, I assumed that Hagin was right and who am I to argue with that? Thank God, since then I have changed.

Hagin no doubt has been influenced by these visions and has used them to authenticate some of what he teaches. There is no problem with this perse, but no matter if an angel from heaven appeared to him, the final teaching that Hagin puts out has to be judged by scripture NOT by the visions that Hagin had. (After all, we have a more sure word of prophecy and we did not have the visions. Hagin did.)

In summation, good book but be aware that these are one man's visions which must be judged by scripture.

New Approach with Practical Application

Review Date: 2004-08-08
This book provides keen insight into the core problems that plague Information Technology and strangle the productivity of knowledge workers. The vision presented in the book is quite bold and yet clearly within reach given the current state of technology and the knowledge workers' insatiable drive to be empowered.

Sapir introduces a paradigm for business solution development in which the knowledge worker is empowered to meet their core, day-to-day IT needs with a dramatic decrease in reliance upon the IT Department. Sapir demonstrates that the technology required to permit a non-technical knowledge worker to design complex business solutions without dependence upon IT currently exists. The missing key is the actual paradigm itself - the visualization and user-interface that actually provides the end-user with the ability to develop such solutions. In this book, Sapir offers a revolutionary, and yet easy-to-understand, solution to this problem, with what he refers to as Personal Service Builders or PSB's.

The impact of the application of PSB's to software development is tremendous, bringing solutions to end-users faster, at lower cost, with less intrusive business practice integration, higher business logic adaptability, lower cost of ongoing system maintenance and longer system lifespan.

The argument for the PSB metaphor is suscinct and convincing. The impact PSB's will have on the corporations that are advanced-thinking enough to adopt them is made clear. In the end, the reader is left anxious to see this new technology at work and try his own hand at building complex solutions to complex problems at a fraction of the cost and time to market.

Power to the people!

When Jon Sapir talks about a bold new vision for IT he's not kidding. In this book he looks at the separation between business and IT knowledge, and questions the wisdom of this current world order. In Sapir's vision, business users in the near future will have the tools they need to create their own small applications (called services), and link them with those developed by other users into an organization-wide system -- all without writing a single line of code. IT will be involved with developing the tools, and with creating the more complex services (as well as the framework on which they reside).

He makes a very compelling case for both the wisdom of taking this course and the possibility of it happening. Rather than viewing IT as a separate department, he sees IT as "everybody's business." He points to case after case of business inching this way since the dawn of the Information Age, all leading to the day in the not too distant future when all the pieces are in place and it's a done deal.

The book is an easy yet compelling read, loaded with references from business gurus and examples of the conditions that are leading us to this inevitible conclusion. Sapir has a gift for taking all the little pieces and pulling them together to show the big picture.

I have spent the last 13 years in the IT industry and looking back it is amazing just how much the industry has changed. The tools available to me now have made me several orders of magnitude more productive over those years. Every so often it is important to take stock of the direction of the industry and this book helped clarify the issues relevant today. It is clear that we are on the verge of yet another milestone in the industry. Web services, PSBs and Service Oriented Architecture are going to be key forces in the upcoming revolution. The battle will empower business users by making systems development so simple that any motivated employee will be able to effortlessly build complex systems from simple building blocks.

This is a great overview of the trends and concepts driving business software today. Aimed at the non-technical reader, it makes things like Web services, Service Oriented Architectures and social software easily understandable. In addition, it shows how software will be built in the future and how it will significantly impact everyone involved - from CIO's and programmers to CEO's and business users.

As an author, former IT executive, and veteran of many IT wars, I am certainly well trained to defend against those that would dare suggest change is needed. But maybe, mellowing with age, allows me to finally look in the mirror, and hear voices such as Harvard's Nicholas Carr in "Does IT Matter" and InfoPower's Jonathan Sapir - "Igniting the Phoenix - A New Vision for IT." Much has been written about Carr, but Sapir's book is the jewel that offers a visionary, yet practical road map "to not throwing the baby out with the bath water", while preparing for 21st century information solutions. The phoenix, one that has served its life purpose and is ready to burst in flames, parallels what CIO's should see before them. It is time for this era of information systems to change, and a new phoenix to emerge, an era of knowledge sharing. After, years of building, and supporting business solutions that have never quite lived up to expectation and business need, the problems of IT are not solved by outsourcing the same old thing to less expensive developers in India or otherwise. Sapir points to a new approach in which "Information technology is now capable of providing the infrastructure that allows users the freedom to become self-reliant ... in a way compatible with the goals of the organization." Sapir's book shares a vision that is a must read for IT professionals and knowledge workers who care about their future. It offers those who need practical answers to SOA, Web Services, Software as a Service, Personal Service Builders - new approaches to solving business challenges.

This set and the entire series are superb for kids. The action and adventure in the stories grip children's imaginations. The morality is wholesome and parents have nothing to fear on that end. Science is woven into the stories and kids learn a lot (I have learned my share too!). Supplemental materials are available on an online website to reinforce the science behind the stories. I have tried out some of the techniques in this book, and found them absolutely amazing. I willed some things to happen and they happened in such a way that it could not be thought of as due to something other than myself. The whole book gives hope, and shows that since everything in the world is connected we can have control over our lives. I really recommend this book to everyone, whether with difficulties in life, or just a self exploration. The techniques are really easy and down to earth. It all just clicks into place.

Written with warmth and humour, which belies it's depth and thought-provoking richness, this book is one of those that changes lives. It is a lively and original introduction to the ideas, tools and techniques of metaphysics, with many practical exercises and beautiful meditations. It offers a vision which challenges many of our assumptions about the world and shows how, among other things, we can grow through love and joy rather than pain and struggle. This can be used as a practical hand-book for life and personal growth. There is no dogma... the whole book is written on the premise of our freedom to choose. I have personally made use of many of the techniques and ideas to successfully turn my life around. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

The book centres around the underlying power of mind over thought. What we think can be altered at will, if only we can admit this to ourself. By changing the way we think we can interact with people around in a much more constructive manner, altering our behaviour to get the most out of life. This can have magical results. In theory it looks great however I have yet o put it into practice personally.

It is filled with techniques for working with our inner selves, our beliefs, our shadow sides, our dreams, our emotions, our feelings, our goals. The author has another book Stepping Into the Magic that is just as useful and full of techniques. This is a "working" book for underlining, doing and re-doing. Definitely on my TOP 10!

Buy this book. Period. Richard Brooke's "Mach II With Your Hair On Fire" is one of the first books I bought when I realized that my life was the product of my best thinking.....and that if I wanted different results, I had to learn how I was creating my own results.

Everytime I read this book, I'm amazed at Brooke's engaging, humorous style....but also with the clarity and simplicity that he's able to communicate some EXTREMELY powerful concepts.

If someone wants to create immediate results in any area of their life, this book has a nuts-and-bolts approach that will work for you....if you're willing to apply it. And the application is fun, simple and rewarding.

It's a great book -- buy it!

I have a copy of this book and I read once in a while when I need a funny, focused dose of the Law of Attraction. The LOA is everywhere but this was one of the first that spoke about it in other than secret terms.

Richard Bliss Brooke was obviously no academic star and some of the writing of this brief book reflects it. However he succeeded massively financially breaking out of a dead-end job to be able to live the luxury lifestyle most only dream about. He shows the basis of his success - having a strong vision that will pull you through the hard times that inevitably occur in any occupation or opportunity. How to build this and how to really burn it into your subconscious is the thrust of this tome. Produced in simple steps it gives an inspiring take on developing the mental attitude that will take you on to greater peaks of success.

The final few pages have a good number of inspiring quotes from a number of people from different persuasions and ages that Richard found helpful in his life. These alone are worth the price of the book.

Richard Bliss Brooke has polished the art of motivating change in people unsatisfied with their lives and in this brief and immensely readable little book he condenses a life of work and teaching into a manual for CHANGE. Interspersing his wise directorial stance with quotes from successful people, charts and lists to aid the reader, and enough book design to encourage staying with the 'project' to its successful end, Brooke has created a manual not for survival in the world as it is, but rather a manual for exploring the concept that personal change comes from embracing vision and motivation.

On the premise that we create our own destinies by changing our core beliefs about ourselves, beliefs based on what we absorbed from birth to age five, Brooke shows us how to write our own screenplay for our lives based on self motivation (enthusiasm, courage, persistence, creativity) to create a vision of what we want to be and then how to daily review our progress in attaining the persona we want to be. It may sound simplistic, but once the reader becomes involved in Brooke's supportive, friendly, yet demanding 'program' the book leads us through, it is difficult to imagine how we could fail, so committed is his tutelage.

Of all the 'self help' books on the market, this little volume is for this reader the most easily digested and, more importantly, the most solid formula for achieving success in finding and becoming the person we want to be. In the back of the book Brooke lists pages of quotations from Shakespeare to Gandhi, giving a bow to Don Miguel Ruiz' book 'The Four Agreements' - his closest 'competitor' in this arena. MACH II WITH YOUR HAIR ON FIRE is a book to keep on the desk, at the bedside, or anywhere it might be readily available for brush-up reading to assure the reader stays on the path that Brooke assures us will lead to success and happiness. It is terrific reading! Grady Harp, August 07

I loved this book by Richard Brooke. I also read MachII starring you. Both are a must read for anyone in a network marketing business. This book has a very clear explanation of the law of attraction without all the cloak and dagger of "the secret" I especially loved his definition of vision: "To the degree there is a contrast between how we are performing now and how we envision ourselves performing, motivation pours forth. This is an automatic and natural effect. It flows whether we want it to or not." "If you think you can or think you can't you are right"
-I think Henry Ford said that. Anyway read the book. It's worth every penny.

What a boon and comfort it would be to the patient if, upon receiving a diagnosis of macular degeneration, the doctor presented a copy of this book!

I thought I knew all the handy tricks until I read Chapter 9, "Making the Home Eye Friendly." After helping my mother deal with her legal blindness for ten years, I thought I knew all the practical hints for coping with macular degeneration. Now I'm in the early stages of the disease and welcome the many new ideas I found in The Macular Degeneration Source Book. Some of my favorites are to always carry a flashlight and to put glow-in-the-dark tape on stairtreads, doorknobs--and all those flashlights.

But the book offers more than handy tips. Retinal surgeon Bert Glaser follows a logical progression starting with an explanation of what happens to the eye affected by macular degeneration, with drawings that illuminate the text. Then he describes the various types of macular degeneration. The importance of testing and getting a diagnosis from qualified doctors is emphasized. Treatments for various types of MD are discussed in an understandable style. A list of risk factors is followed by life style changes that can help reduce risk. The book does not over-promise results while offering a positive, upbeat approach throughout.

Useful features in the back of the book include a list of resources-websites, organizations, catalogs, software, and vision products-a glossary of terms, and an index.

A close relative has recently been diagnosed with macular degeneration. I found this book very helpful in understanding the ravaging effects of macular degeneration, yet also providing solid information on ways to combat and cope with this disease. It is clearly written and easy for a layperson such as myself to understand. I'd recommend it to anyone with a similar interest.

This comprehensive book does a very nice job of explaining age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in terms that anyone can understand. Patients and their families will particularly appreciate learning the distinction between the different types of AMD and reading the thorough description of the eye examination.

Other important chapters cover a 10-step program to reduce your risks of macular degeneration, dealing with the emotional impact (an often overlooked aspect of vision loss) and ways to make your home and workplace more vision friendly. The Appendix and List of Resources are excellent.

The diagnosis of AMD can be devastating, but with information like The Macular Degeneration Source Book, patients and their families can deal with the challenge. Written by a leading macular degeneration specialist, it contains accurate medical information and lists current research.
