Senses Books

I have never read a book like this. I would recommend this book to any teacher. It is filled with practical suggestions and tips from an experienced teacher.

John is my grandfather. He had a keen interest in Epictetus, a lesser known Roman philosopher. If you are not a hard core academic, you will appreciate his attempt to make the language more accessible.

This book, The Sixth Sense, has some scary parts, not very scary, but sorta. If you have seen the movie, it is a sequel to that. If you haven't, it is a story about an 11 year old kic named Cole Sear who can see dead people. His mom, Lynn, knows that he can see them, but she can't. Cole has to help everyone of the dead people or they will never leave him alone, or live in peace.

We got this for my son when he was 14 months old and he has enjoyed it from day one! The extra thick boardbook pages make it very VERY durable, the predictable and interactive pages engage my son immediately, he immediately goes to the part of the bunny that has texture (touchy feely) and even begins touching around the texture then sliding into the texture and then out the other end, so he sees the differences in texture, just like I would do with his hand. My husband reads the story with added inflection, adding the line "?Es este mi conejito?" before reciting the text "Noooooooo, este no es mi conejito, tiene ......" and my son laughs histerically even before the text line is read in anticipation of the "Nooooooooo". We also got him the "Este no es mi tractor" book later to show him that inanimate objects also have different textures that can be very different from those of animals. Great basic interactive book just right for toddlers who will eventually pretend read/babble the book to themselves!

Este no es mi dragon es el favorito (en espanol por lo menos; tenemos unos en ingles tambien) de esta series de libros. Las texturas para tocar son muy interesantes--y diferentes de los en otros libros.

Si Ud no conoce todavia estas historias, son mas o menos 6 paginas, y en cada pagina dice "este no es mi ... " y entonces la razon por la cual sabemos que no es el ... correcto. En la ultima pagina, finalmente se encuentra el ... correcto. Son cortos, las materials (los papeles) son duros, las texturas para tocar son interesantes, y las traducciones no son malas tampoco.

Le recomiendo todos los libros "este no es mi...".

Tenemos unos diez de los "Este no es mi..." libros, y a mi hijo le gustan casi todos, pero este es uno de sus favoritos.

I bought a couple of these touchy feely books for my son to introduce him to Spanish. They're his favorite books! He's 10 months old and loves the textures spots with his little fingers. He also loves the illustrations. I'm already planning on buying more for his birthday.

Our 10 month old LOVES this book (and many others in the series) He's had them since he was 6 months old and the touch books are his favorites. It's great to have books that hold his interest. When we first bought the book we would show him the part to touch and now as soon as you turn each page he'll reach for the part to touch. He's now going to the book case on his own and pulling out the books to play with. He always ends up with the touch books.
The book is very sturdy and chunky which is great since he also like the put everything in his mouth.
This is a great addition to a baby library.

We got this book for my son when he was 16months, after having "Este no es mi conejito" for 2months, to show him that inanimate objects also have textures that can be different from animal textures, and he has thoroughly enjoyed both books from day one! The boardbook pages are EXTRA thick, making it very VERy durable! The textures and the predictability immediately engage the child on each page. As soon as i turn the page he runs his fingers over the texture and then off the other end, like i would do with his fingers when we originally read the book (so he could feel the difference of the book page to the texture). My husband reads with added inflection and adds the question on each page "?Es este tu tractor?" before reading the text "Noooooooooo, este no es mi tractor, tiene....." and my son laughs with anticipation of the exaggerated "Noooooooo" of the text.
Great book that engages the toddler quickly, and with its predictability will have them reading/babbling the text to themselves sooner than you think!

The vivid colors and fun, simple pictures really hold a baby's attention. It's fun to compare the lion with the other "critters" and to make funny animal sounds along with the story. The lion, which is attached to the book with a ribbon, is a really great idea, because you can move the lion from page to page.

Not only does this book have lots of new and exciting experiments that will actively engage children of all ages, it is also an excellent tool for helping children develop language skills. This book provides new ideas with things that kids are familiar with and are able to understand. Very exciting and lots of fun.
