THIS BOOK IS AN INCREDIBLE TOOL FOR ENGAGING CHILDREN IN THE STORIES OF THE BIBLE. LECTIONARY BASED, IT GIVES SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS USING EVERYDAY ITEMS THAT ANYONE CAN DO. WE HAVE BEGUN USING IT EVERY WEEK IN OUR CONGREGATION, AND IT USUALLY GETS MORE FOCUSED ATTENTION THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE SERVICE, FROM CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE. ESPECIALLY HELPFUL FOR MAKING SCRIPTURE COME ALIVE FOR THE NEW, UNCHURCHED MEMBER AS WELL AS CHILDREN. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS STRONGLY ENOUGH.

This author is considered one of sport's architecture's most important proponents of the forgotten values that made parks such as Wrigley Field and County Stadium great places to watch baseball: designing ballparks where the common fan and not the suite-holder have first priority. His book examines why not all new ballparks are great parks, and identifies those factors that put Jacobs Field and PNC Park in a different league from The Ballpark in Arlington and Comiskey Park.

CLASSIC CARRET - COMMON SENSE FROM AN UNCOMMON MAN by Phillip L. Carret

Book is published in honor of Pioneer Funds 70th birthday. This book is a compilation of comments from Philip L. Carret, the founder of Pioneer's flagship mutal fund.
Mr Carret's insights come from his 75 years in the financial services industry. He was the elder statesman of money managers and witnessed more bull and bear markets than anyone in the industry at the time of this printing. Mr Carret's Pioneer Fund was one of the first mutual funds in the U.S. and to it he applied his company-focused and management-focused philosophy for identifying under-priced stocks. This style is now known as value investing, and it has become a popular investment approach among money managers today.
"Mr Carret's observations also came from a lifetime of other experiences - as a World War I pilot, author, publisher, philanthropist, husband, father, and enthusiastic follower of solar eclipes. And his lifetime spanned 101 years."
"The quotations that follow present the uncommon common sense of an active participant in business and in life."
Beautiful book.

This book is required reading for my general psychology students. Complex issues in behavioral science are presented in a clear, almost conversational manner, through discussion of apt examples like MPD and false memories, Clever Hans, crop circles, claims of alien abductions, conspiracy theories, and homeopathic medicine. The chapters are short (10-15 pgs.) and can be related to the intro psych text book chapters, thus it is fairly easy to integrate the material into the syllabus. For example, Ch. 4 covers the need to evaluate appeals to authority and expertise, in part by walking the reader through Milgram's obedience research and explaining the results, which makes it a good companion for the text book chapter on social psychology. Most students find the book compelling and thought provoking, and class discussions are lively and fun for me and for them. At semester's end, students are equipped with knowledge and thinking skills that will help them to sort science from pseudoscience, spot fallacious reasoning and bias in themselves and others, and examine correlations and claims of causation critically.

A great pictorial for everyone from 3 to 93. 48 pages. Cuts through academic rhetoric to give clear and concise images of ancient cultures' costume and hairstyles including those of Ancient Mesopotamia, Assyria, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Hebrew, Persia, Crete, Greece, Rome, Celts, Ancient India, Pakistan, and China. A good reference for reproducing costume and hair for plays, reports, etc.

I have been kayaking for about 8 years now and have amassed a small library of kayak books. This (an earlier edition actually) was my first and it has, in my opinion, not been surpassed. I heartily endorse this book for the new kayaker. I still occasionally will pull it off the shelf to get Mr. Washburnes take on some issue. I particularly like his "4 concentric rings of defense" conceptualization for not becoming a kayak fatality. In short: avoid trouble, if this fails, stay upright, if this fails, know how to get back in your boat, if this fails have the equipment at hand to signal for help. Of course, he goes into this in more detail than that. I found the information content of the book to be quite high. It has a good mix of safety content, skills content, equipment content, and information about different types of paddling environments and the types of skills that are particularly important for such environments. Also, he paints a good portrait of the mystique of kayaking. Several other intro sea kayak survey books that I have seen also seem quite adequate, but from personal experience I can certainly reccomend this one.

As a teacher of three children at home and a former middle school teacher I bought this book. It has been a great addition to our learning. It is a series of hands on activities that are simple, cheap and use a coffee can.
For example, it might tell you how to simulate the rock cycle or how weather erodes rocks using a rock, water, and a coffee can.
The one problem with this book was that it does not have enough ideas. It is very thin. The other problem and directly related to the first is that there might only be one experiment for the rock cycle, one experiment for human body etc. It would be nice to see more lessons.
Well worth the money.
Enjoy.

This has nothing to do with Holy Ghost...
Holy Ghost never came as a male to speak to any of the diciples.
Only one man was the comforter, and as was written, he was told what to write down, he did not speak for himself..
His name was and is Muhammad......
Read the bible references below if you want proof!!!
No other Religion has born fruit apart from Christianity except for Islam.............
"From their Fruits you will know them".......
Although I come very close!!!!

A must read! Pam Rice has captured the modern day dilema of children of elderly parents wanting the best for their aging parents and their parents wanting to continue to live out their own dreams, despite physical limitations. This story cleverly tells a triumpant and suspenseful story, while educating the reader about alternatives available for those facing challenges in their lives.
