This book covers the homeopathic remedies that you can use during childbirth. Betty Idarius gives us a clear picture of each remedy, so that the symptoms are obvious when you see them. I've used this book extensively at births, and consider it to be the best book on childbirth homeopathy. I only wish she would write one about prenatal and postpartum homeopathy!

I've made no secret of the fact that I was a teenage mom, and having a son when I was 17 has colored every aspect of my life. I wish that I had had this book to read 17 years ago. Discovering you are pregnant as a teenager brings feelings of guilt, shame, and like your life is over. But Brignoni, herself a former pregnant teen, brings home to girls everywhere by reminding them that while being pregnant changes things, it isn't the end of their life. She encourages them to change their attitude and look at life with hope for the future, because if they don't have help for themselves, no one else will. She has several different exercises to invite pregnant teens to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and plans for the future, as well as make a map on how to bring those plans to fruition. My only concern about the book is that it has a little bit of The Secret type theology to it: send good thoughts out into the universe so they can return to you. Other than that, I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a quick read, but filled with a great deal of hard earned wisdom about not giving up and creating a good life for you and your child. I give the book 4-1/2 stars.

This book was a great read - funny and real. Highly recommend it for anyone who is watching the illusions of perfect parenting evaporate as life gets more and more challenging.

I was referred to this book by my Anatomy teacher who I have great respect for. I thought I'd try it and found it to be enlightening. Anyone interested should definately get their hands on this.

At last, a book about abortion that is well-reasoned, scientific, and compassionate. The authors calmly examine every side of the debate and offer interesting and relevant information from scientific journals, theologians, and their own extensive experience. They propose a reasonable policy for abortion while acknowledging that it is the least desirable of options available.

If you are seeking a balanced discussion of this difficult topic, I highly recommend this book.

Borrowed this book from a friend and it was awesome. It is a simple and easy read that will leave you feeling well prepared to give birth the natural way! It was written in the 60s and so some things are a bit outdated but charming anyway!

If you're experiencing even the beginning stages of realizing you're going to have trouble conceiving, this book is extremely helpful. It would be great to have a new edition, as some of the terminology, drugs, and procedures have changed, but over all it's a great resource. Really helped me with the reality of everything. Incidentally, we are now expecting our first two children.

After searching for natural approaches to my infertility problem, I found this book. The book offered me practical information on how vitamins, minerals, exercise, diet, etc. can increase one's fertility. I decided to make many lifestyle changes suggested in the book, and after 5 months (after years of infertility), I became pregnant.

This is the only book I've ever read in my and my husband's five-year struggle with infertility that gets at the real emotional trauma of never being able to give life to a child. The author is a writer (not all of them are), and thus is able to capture in words experiences felt so deeply through emotions. She expresses what my husband and I, and others like us, have felt but can't or don't say or doubt is true, even for themselves. It provides the validation we're all missing in a society doesn't and in families and among friends that don't recognize how the losses of permanent infertility alter your life forever. Some might find the author's strong feminist voice a little off-putting and dated, but the messages are still clear. The author writes only from the woman's perspective, though my husband read the book too and found it validating. He is a writer, and I am an editor, so our review stems from some professional experience. Read the book and grieve; your losses are real.
