Finally, a well-written reducing/lifestyle change plan. Dr. Logan compiles everything you need in one comprehensive book without being `way out there' or a `silver bullet'. The California Wine Country Diet is truly an enjoyable lifestyle change. It is do-able, enjoyable, straightforward and sensible. I have done many diet plans and have found them to be impracticable or impossible to follow in the real world. Dr. Logan's plan is easy to follow; so easy that any gourmet recipe can easily fit into the meal plan guidelines provided one exercises portion control. I have been able to eat well and still enjoy my Castello blue cheese, Kashi TLC crackers and glass of local Chambercin. Ching, Ching to you Dr. Logan!

I have to applaud Dr. Logan for this wonderful book. I'm normally not that interested in the science and don't really care for biology that much but this book presents the findings and studies in such a straightforward, concise and clear way. After reading this book, it is hard to debunk that diet somehow affects a person's proneness to acne.

This is something that anyone with some skin problem should read. Although it is a non-fiction, this book is not boring at all. It presents a wealth of relevant information throughout the book and is well worth the money.

Excellent advise, with medical backing.

In the midst of claims that diet and acne are not related, this book explains the interconnections between what we eat and our health, and the specific factors that affect the health of our skin.

One of the very best tips in this book is for the Zeno device. It REALLY works, be preventing breakouts from turning into full eruptions. We were sceptical about the claims for the Zeno until we read about it in "The Clear Skin Diet."

I have struggled with acne for the past 19 years. During this time, I have tried almost every imaginable medical treatment. While I found some success, my acne always returned as soon I stopped the medication. I felt that there must be some connection between diet and acne for this problem to persist. However, I was never able to find a dermatologist to support this suspicion or point me in the right direction.

The Clear Skin Diet provided me with the research and understanding I had sought all these years. The research is thoroughly presented and accessible to the general public. After incorporating many of the authors' suggestions into my daily life I have seen a significant difference in the severity of my acne! I would recommend this book to anyone who has struggled with acne and hopes to make a lasting change in their lives.

By following the expert advice from these authors, you may free yourself from expensive medications and painful medical treatments. What physician would complain if their patients decided to heal themselves with good nutrition?

Cheers to Drs Logan and Treloar for showing us the research that makes so much sense?

They explain everything so well. I learned more about acne from this book then talking with my dermatologist! I never realized how a little life changes could clear my acne. This is a must have!!

I am currently studying medicine and got this book to help get a handle on the renal system and acid-base topics. I found it easy to understand, with good detail and lots of extra information. The case studies are a great way to illustrate the different conditions. I would definitely recommend it if you are keen to get a handle on (or master) acid-base and electrolyte physiology and disorders.

An impressively lucid and detailed account of renal physiology, with a close focus on the clinical causes and implications. It is intensely practical, with up to date references (at time of publication) and sifting exerecises at the end of each chapter.

It is precisely what far too many 'nephrologists' have all but forgotten in their obsession with immunology, studying the aetiology of injury is all well, but without a text like this it's difficult to appreciate the intricacy, beauty and sheer majesty of renal physiology. Can you tell the difference between tubulo-glomerular feedback and glomerulotubular balance? - shame on the 'forensic pathologists' who can't! This book will provide rapid relief.

a worthy analysis of contemporary agriculture
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 2005-02-25
This is a well-written and well-researched description of the economic problems ailing contemporary American agriculture, and of the deleterious effects mammoth-scale corporate farming is having on the environment. The author is an experienced investigative reporter and an unashamed proponent of sustainable agriculture and the ever-dwindling "family" farmer representative of traditional crop cultivation in the United States. As such, Diet For A Dead Planet is a bit of a polemic and firmly in the camp of other books critical of the relationship between agricultural economics and modern food production, such as Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation. Needless to say, Cargill and Archer-Daniels Midland executives are not going to be enamored of Diet, but any citizen concerned about the state of farming in the US, and its effects on public health and environmental well-being, would do well to read this book.

Cook organizes his topic into three sections, dealing with food quality and safety; the business and economic aspects of modern agriculture; and environmental consequences of profligate pesticide use and "factory" farm effluents. Each section contains several chapters with extensive footnotes. The chapters are obviously targeted for a general audience, and as a consequence are very readable without overwhelming the reader with statistics and technical jargon. In particular, I found the chapters on the evolving history of American agriculture offered a concise but informative account of a complex and often tumultuous subject. Other chapters on such diverse subjects as the "mad cow" crisis, the continuous deposition of toxic pesticides in water supplies, and the travails of workers in high-throughput slaughterhouse operations, are all eye-opening to one degree or another.

Cook ends the book with a admonition to the public: unless we actively choose to support organic / sustainable farm operations, our health and the welfare of the environment we live in are not going to improve. Rather than simple hectoring, however, in the last segment of the book he provides an extensive listing of whole-food organizations and advocacy groups dedicated to helping us change the way we eat and consume natural resources. There is of course an element of "better to light one candle" rhetoric here; even Cook is not so naïve as to think that tomorrow will see the US converted to any kind of enormous vegan commune. But his hope is that after reading Diet some of us will devote a bit of thought to the hows and whys of our eating habits, and in this, I think he is as realistic as any "muckraker" can be.

A no-nonsense book

Whether he is taking on the exploitation of farm workers and poultry-plant employees; the take-over of large-scale agribusiness; farm subsidies, or an America swimming in pesticides and animal waste, Mr. Cook has clearly done his research. Extremely well documented, the book contains a number of startling statistics. Did you know that in California's Central Valley, the 1,600 dairies there generate more waste than a city of 21 million people? Did you know that in 1997, growers applied more than 985 million pounds of pesticides and herbicides to crops? Can you conceive of a farm subsidy system that has people like Scottie Pippin and Sam Donaldson receiving farm program monies?

There is a lot to ponder in this book and some excellent ideas and suggestions as to what we as consumers can do to make changes in our lives and our communities to help bring farming back to the people and out of the hands of the giant corporations.

An Analysis of American Agricultural Mayhem
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2006-12-04
Christopher D. Cook's latest book Diet for a Dead Planet offers the American public with a wake up call view of the food industry today. As an investigative journalist, he gives a complete overview of the socioeconomic and political ills facing food production. He begins the supermarkets and ends with the global agricultural market.

Cook inspects the multifaceted complexities which have arisen due to cheap labor, often exploited and without healthcare. He also depicts the plight of migrant workers, processed food, and pesticides manipulatively spread over crops with the able assistance of government subsidies. The findings are thorough, compelling, and difficult to ingest at times. However, they are warranted as he introduces authorities to backup his claims.

The statistics Cook presents are real, yet harsh. Yearly, 75 million Americans are sickened by the food they eat, while an estimated 67 million birds are killed by the millions of pounds of toxic agricultural pesticides sprayed on crops. Meanwhile, farmers that remain take home only about 19 cents per food dollar spent by the average consumer (this is in comparison to 37 cents in 1980 and 47 cents in 1952) according to Cook.

Cook closely examines every branch of the food industry. In doing so, he reaches a necessary reason for change. The socioeconomic, environmental, and political injustices currently practiced weigh heavily on America's well being. Within each chapter, he goes into great detail explaining, expanding, and scoping the historical difficulties and how they adversely impact today's food industry. Beyond that conclusion, Cook explains that unless a new solution, specifically changing how food is "made", Americans will continue to spiral downward.

Cook clearly maps out the issues beleaguering and tormenting many workers in the food industry from farmers, supermarket employees to higher up executives. All problems such as exploited migrant workers, sickened Americans, corporate control, and government subsidies carry negative consequences for the future if nothing is done soon. In Cook's last chapter, he outlines a solution which focuses on changing the role of the food industry in the future. This book is powerful in its own right. However, more pages need to be devoted to envisioning that solution than one final chapter. I hope to see more works from Christopher Cook. I recommend this book as a read for anyone who eats. This is also a book for anyone who wants to learn the truth about a topic in urgent need of active change and tired of complacency.

A book for anyone who eats!

This book will open your eyes to the American food industry...from poor quality to bad business practices, Cook covers it all. I knew that quality and mega-chain stores were a concern, but I never considered the demise of our communities and food culture as a by-product of these issues. This book won't help you to sleep easier at night, but it will make you think before you purchase your next carton of milk or loaf of bread.

Millions of Americans are sickening from the food they eat
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2005-04-09
Millions of Americans are sickening from the food they eat, last year 5,000 died, and obesity and diet-related diseases are on the rise: so Christopher Cook's examination of the food industry in America in Diet For A Dead Planet: How The Food Industry Is Killing Us provides much food for thought. Cook is an investigative journalist whose probe of the food industry's perils is backed with facts and well-honed research. Food lies at the root of many epidemics and poor social and economic conditions. Cook not only pinpoints the problems, but argues for a new way of looking at what and how we eat which places sustainably produced foods within reach of the public. Diet For A Dead Planet is informed and informative reading.

If you are plagued with so called age-related illness, let me tell you it has nothing to do with age and everything to do with the STANDARD AMERICAN DIET (SAD). You have the opportunity and ability to regain your health, live out the rest of your years feeling strong, energetic and mentally alert.

Dr. Fuhrman opened my eyes when I read his "Eat to Live" book and I will be forever grateful. In following his advice I shed 70 pounds in 6 months and have kept it off for almost two years If you would like to take control of your health destiny, instead of allowing drug companies to choose your fate, read this book.

The best book on nutrition!

I first read Joel Fuhrman, M.D.'s book "Eat To Live" May 2007 after my father died of heart disease. I have always been a vegetarian but I have always been overweight as well. I had 50 extra pounds to lose and my main goal has always been health over looks. I learned from his book that being a Vegan also means no processed foods or animal products of any kind. I love that book and lost those 50 pounds that I had never been able to lose before age 42.

After a year living the "Eat To Live" plan I read "Eat For Health" twice. The differences are huge. The biggest difference is that Dr. Fuhrman takes us Americans through 4 stages of gradual eating changes by doing some food exercises and stepping down animal products and processed foods. The only foods he asks us to eliminate immediately are all cheese, butter and transfats. I can see why he changed his point-of-view to gradually add vegetables, fruits and beans to our diets because otherwise it can be a shock to our typical way of eating and most people will reject it as they did in his book, "Eat To Live."

I find I need the extreme approach right off the starting line and I have learned to love vegetables and fruits. I feel that his gradual steps to eliminate meat and processed foods and grains was backpedaling from his original book, but on the other hand I fully understand why he did it and that was to reach as many people to change their eating habits as possible and so in this content, it makes perfect sense. Before May 2007 I was a vegan who rarely ate fruits and vegetables thinking cereal and popcorn was healthy, now I thrive on those foods and have kept my weight down to near ideal with no effort at all.

I have always loved reading nutrition books and before Joel Fuhrman, M.D. I thought Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Oz were the best, but now I see that they both focus far too heavily on whole grains, which Dr. Fuhrman says to eat very little of because they are not dense in nutrition. The rule of this plan is to eat foods highest on the nutrient index and avoid foods with little nutritional value all-together.

Here's a list of the foods he says we can eat from his book in unlimited quantities, and these are the only foods I eat myself. This plan is the only book that made perfect sense to me and I knew in my core that this is the only choice I would make for optimal health and wellness.

I read this book eagerly and found it to be chock-full of good information. I was totally sold and began the "agressive weight loss" program immediately. It has been 3 weeks and I have lost 12 lbs so far. However, I contracted a vaginal yeast infection by the end of the first week. Having not had one of these for 20 years, I went to my doctor. She said that low protein diets are a risk factor for yeast infections! I am now doubting the veracity of all I have read by Dr. Furhman about how much protein is in this diet. I have added more tofu (1 box per day) to prevent any reoccurance, but readers beware!

I have followed a very healthy lifestyle for 30 years, but changing to follow Eat For Health allowed to meet my health goals for the first time in my life !

I have followed Pritikin for many years. Ornish, McDougall, Esselstyn all are also nearly identical to Pritikin, and are all excellent programs. However, adjusting to Fuhrman's program allowed my cholesterol to drop 20 points better than ever on Pritikin, and I should be in reversal of atherosclerosis, without meds, for the first time. Fuhrman's background, insight and keen knowledge of the medical literature are unique in medicine, allowing him to create a program that, I believe, is the best known to medical science.

The next medical frontier is adapting health programs to individual needs. Dr. Fuhrman has made the best progress in this, as can be seen in his very active website.

Fuhrman's Eat For Health is the best resource for anyone who wishes to take control of their health.

This is an exceptional book.

It's rare to find an author in the nutrition field

and offers an easily followable, non dogmatic diet.

The book, and the school run by the author - Institute for Integrative Nutrition - are ground-breaking.

Joshua is truly ahead of his time, and I highly recommend this book. The principles and recipes in it have really helped me balance out my blood sugar and have more consistent energy throughout the day.

I just finished reading this book and I literally could not put it down. Having read health books for over 30 years, I expected the usual rearrangement of things I already know. However, from the first page, this book drew me in and made sense of health and diet like nothing I have ever read. So now I am writing my very first book review and I am going to the store today to get what I need to eat for balance, energy and weight control. I have no doubt that it is the program that will work for me. Moreover, it seems so simple and do-able that I am excited to get started.

The other thing I am going to do today is order a gift copy for each of my adult children so that their families can benefit from this valuable information. I want them to know how easily they can enhance their lives with healthy food as presented by Joshua Rosenthal and Tom Monte. Thank you, Mr. Rosenthal, for sharing your life's work in such an appealing and refreshing way!

The revolutionary approach of The Energy Balance Diet, and Joshua Rosenthal's unique concept of achieving wellbeing and balance within one's life through integration of mind, body and spirit, have been my way of life for many months.

This practical, gradual and safe dietary plan has helped me and my family incorporate healthy food choices and subtle lifestyle changes into our way of life, without feelings of deprivation and frustration, as many other diets have done in the past. We have achieved greater health, higher energy levels, love of life and deeper, more fulfilling relationships.

Unlike so many diet books which I have read, the Energy Balance Diet book is the only one which sheds light on the importance of integrating "Primary Foods" into our daily menus. Foods which often times are more fulfilling than real food. 'Foods' like love, satisfying careers, creativity, physical activity, spirituality, self-expression, friendships, fun, sex!

Realizing how lack of primary foods could create a void in our lives and compromise our mental and physical health was revolutionary to me. The book helped me get clearer on which steps I should take toward achieving a more balanced life and optimal health.

I think the time has come for more people to try a book that offers not only a diet but a whole way of life !

This book gave me answers to nutrition questions that had plagued me for years. WHY did I crave sweets at night? WHY did I crash at 3:00 pm every day and head for the vending machine? WHY wasn't I losing weight even though I was cutting calories and trying so many different diets?

Joshua's book is very different than other "nutrition" books in that he assumes the readers are intelligent and can figure things out for themselves... with a bit of gentle guidance along the way. The book doesn't present one diet as THE DIET that must be followed... or else! Instead, it explains the way food affects us - our mood, our energy, our cravings, our weight. Then it helps readers figure out what will work best for them, personally. It's a refreshing change from the dogmatic slant of most nutrition books.

I particularly love the chapter which talks about the Energy Balance solution itself, a simple formula for health. It's so beautiful in its simplicity! It doesn't require fancy herbal formulas or expensive supplements to be taken. It requires simple, whole foods and lots of love and self-care.

The part that was most unique to me was the concept of primary foods. Joshua explains hows how primary foods - fitness, career, spirituality, and relationships - affect our health just as much as food does. It's a connection that I intuitively knew, deep down in my heart, but didn't actually recognize until I read this book.

As a holistic health counselor, I use the simple - yet powerful - food and "primary food" concepts in this book as the basis of my healing programs. This is the first book I give to my clients, because we then have a common language around nutrition, energy and healing.

I cook from this book several times a week and I've yet to find something that I wouldn't cook again or that I wouldn't serve to guests. I'm not the best or most patient cook, so I really appreciate the quick and easy aspect. A couple of things to consider - one of the ways they reduce calories is by using veggies such as peppers and zucchini to stretch normally high calorie meals. Also, many of the recipes are very flavorful, not necessarily spicy, but lots of strong sauces and spicing. If you don't like those things, this might not be the book for you....luckily we do.

I got this book from the library and tried several receipes before I decided to order several copies for my family and friends. I hate to count (or even think about) calories, and this book does it for you. You do not have to be on a diet to use this book. The receipes have lots of flavor and variety.

I am the very definition of a foodie. I'm also health conscious.

WOW! I've had this book for a few months, and I got it used figuring if I didn't like it, no big deal. This week so far I've made the chicken pot pie, sugar cookies, and pumpkin spice muffins. They all have come out wonderfully and you cannot tell they are low-cal!! Tonight I'm making the mustard dill pork chops with pumpnickel stuffing and tomorrow onion & pepper braciole! I bet you didn't think you could eat that stuff and have it come in at under 400 calories!!!

I'm not even a reader of family circle, but this book is probably one of my most used cookbooks :)

I have never enjoyed diet books and have always felt that diets really only promote unhealthy eating. But this book is different. The recipes were delicious. (I have a difficult time believing that each serving falls within the calorie requirement...they're that good.) It also emphasizes portion control with food variety which actually gave me a more balanced and healthy way of eating. I don't alternate between starving and overstuffed. I even do better at restaurants. I don't know if I've lost weight yet but I feel better and that was my goal in the first place.

Good recipes but inconvenient number of servings

I got this book as I'm always on a lookout for great tasting healthy recipes. I have made a few dishes from the book and all of them turned out well (blueberry cottage cheese pancakes were especially good). So I have no complaint about the quality of the meals. However, our family consists of two people and I usually cook for two nights - read 4 servings. The MAJORITY of the recipes are for 6 servings. It is highly inconvenient as 6 doesn't adjust easily to 4, and I don't like freezing leftovers.
Because of this issue, I rarely look in the book when I'm searching for a recipe.
If you have a big family or don't mind freezing leftovers then I would reccomend the book, as the recipes are good. But if you're single or have two people in your household, you might want to look elsewhere for your everyday cookbook.

Gene Bauer's book, Farm Sanctuary, is a powerful indictment of factory farming and opened my eyes to the depth of the problem. He's an excellent writer and a true humanitarian who has fought long and hard for his beliefs. The book took me out of denial. I couldn't put it down once I started and recommend the book to everyone.

This book is just wonderful. I was vegan before I read it, but reading it makes me truly feel like being vegan can save the world. This book really sheds light on the inescapable cruelty behind consuming meat, dairy and animal products. If you eat meat, you NEED to know what you are eating and what your diet contributes to. After reading this wonderful, captivating book I visited Farm Sanctuary's NY shelter and it just was amazing. Words can't do the experience justice! Please - vegan, vegetarian, or meat-eater - read this book and visit Farm Sanctuary's NY or CA shelter for an experience you will never forget. You will be truly touched, I know I am.

Farm Santuary lifts the dark veil covering our animal food industry. It is time to stop pretending that food comes in plastic and paper containers from the grocery store. Animal abuse and pain are an unacceptable link in our food chain. This book offers reality and good storytelling to bring awareness that our animal farming practices are not acceptable to Americans.

For such an all inclusive book -- brilliantly written.

This book was brilliantly written considering all that it includes -- and that is a full look at how Farm Sanctuary I & II came to be, why, an in depth look at the factory farm industry, Farm Sanctuary's past and on-going efforts to create and change laws to protect animals, interlaced with personal stories about individual animals that are awe-inspiring and emotionally touching. You finish this book with a broad awareness of the realities, problems, and solutions to factory farming, well enough informed and directed to know exactly how best to help, stepwise -- as much or as little as you want. There is a gentle call to activism and vegetarianism veganism. Though, I recommend this book heartily to those who do consume meat and dairy products -- Gary, very smartly, does not discriminate. If we're going to use animals for food, we have to do so responsibly. This book shows us how. Gary did not leave one aspect or important fact unaddressed.

The very first time I visited Farm Sanctuary, I knew I had found my haven. Two years later, after interning at the New York shelter, followed by 1 1/2 years of employment there working with the animals that have a safe place thanks to Gene, I have just finished reconnecting with my initial bliss and thrill by reading this book.

Being in the world of Farm Sanctuary working hands-on with those animals, who, like Gene states, are each individuals, is a positively unique experience. Though I may seem a bit biased by writing this review, I must say that I have truly experienced the Farm, Gene's story, and the animals in a refreshing, new and beautiful way.

If you are new to the animal protection movement, and do not know yet the facts about industrialized farming, and the terrible falls our society has made toward abuse and neglect (by way of animals as well as consumers, farmers, employees and your every day family trying to eat a decent meal), then I STRONGLY recommend this being the first book to introduce you to these issues.

Written with a sense of passion, but without the sometimes harsh political jargon of AR activists that may appear to the average person as slanted, Gene weaves the roots of his activism and beliefs, factual information, touching stories about real animals, and the history of (in my opinion) the most bold, successful and important animal sanctuary in existence into an captivating read.

I believe that in years to come, once this incredible book has circled the hands of people over and over, that we shall see even more of a spread of compassion around and back again. Farm Sanctuary's story is an important one to tell, and god bless Gene, his work ethic and drive to have completed it and put it forth for the world to hear. For those of you out there, pass this on to everyone you love-- it just might change their minds, hearts and lives.. as well as the lives of animals depending on us to help.

The Forever Young Diet and Lifestyle is easy to read and has a lot of logical advice on how to stay fit. It covers a lot of different aspects to life and diet. It was recommended to me by my doctor. Using the advice, I lowered my cholesterol by 10% and increase the good to bad cholesterol ratio. It also helped me shed fat while building muscle mass.

Every home needs this book in it!

A diet book that I can't believe my husband is actually reading!

My husband is a diabetic. He had a recent doctor's appt., and his doctor had talked about how he lost 35 pounds and it wasn't that hard . . . just basically a change of diet (healthy), along with advice via this book. Well, my husband was about 20 lbs. overweight, and complained that he was getting flabby, so he asked me to order this book. I did, and he would read a chapter or two at a time. He would ask me, "Did you know how good green tea is for you?" I would say "yes." Did you know that nuts from a tree are very good for you?? I would say, "yes." "Did you know that for every 100 calories in grains (cereals and breads, etc.), that you need to have 3 grams of fiber?" Yes. I have read Prevention magazine for years, and was always interested in health and medical topics, so those little tidbits of info were not new to me. ANyway, for a guy who NEVER reads anything except HUNTING magazines, I was amazed that he actually read this book. To keep his attention, it has to be written in an easy-to-read-and-understand style, or he would be tossing it out the door! He says it is very good, and he HAS INDEED changed his eating habits. He is definitely more knowledgeable!!! I would recommend it!

Read this book. Change your life. The content is NOT a lose weight fast plan. It's not really a "diet" book. It will change how you look at what you (and those you care about) eat. I've met the authors. They have the credentials and no agenda other than to share their knowledge of how a healthy lifestyle is easily achievable. Based on the knowledge gained from reading this book I've changed how and what I eat, lowered my cholesterol, increased my energy, lost the 25 pounds I needed to lose and have kept it off for over a year.

After I tried Atkins in the 70's, I've never been able to summon up the will power to do the carb diet again. I gained the somewhat typical pound+ per year and as I grew older, I got heavier. The program as outlined has enabled me to lose weight and improve my lifestyle.
This program that is portrayed is clearly the result of thought and observation and common sense.
I like the fact that conclusions are presented clearly and fairly and suggestions to enhance the practice of the program are reasonable and practical.
The book shares insight and "I knew that..." expositions in an engaging and comfortable format.

I'm really please that the book was published where and when it was, since it helped my wife and me to rework our lifestyle in a wonderful and accessible manner.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. I needed information about each of the amino acids, what functions they are involved in, how they interrelate, and what illnesses they are connected with. This book is well-organized, highly readable, and extremely interesting. It was just the right mix of research information, along with dosage and uses.

This book has been very useful in helping me find supplements that are improving my medical issues.

quite a bit of the research on which it is based is now dated, and some important aspects of nutrition have been completely ignored. It does however give a simple introduction to amino acids, and this is a complex topic, so that it is a good place to start

The amino acids in the human body are proving to be potent healing substances. This book reveals the findings of research in the 1980s and 1990s on the beneficial role of the aminos in Alzheimer's, cancer, depression, heart conditions, stress and many other disease states.

The different amino acids are discussed in chapters according to type: Aromatic, Sulphur, Urea Cycle, Glutamate, Threonine and Branched Chain. Their food sources, nutrient interactions and proven benefits are given in detail.

The therapeutic functions of specific aminos include pain relief (Phenylalanine), fighting addiction (Tyrosine), treatment of Parkinson's (Methionine), heart protection (Homocysteine), herpes killer (Lysine). Many of them also play a part in immune stimulation or as anti-oxidants.

There are three appendices: 1. The Problems of Vegetarianism. 2. The Much Maligned Egg: The Best Amino Acid Food. 3. Continuing Breakthroughs in Amino Acids. This informative book with its good news concludes with an extensive bibliography, a glossary of terms and an index.

Everyone can benefit from the use of supplemental amino acids. This excellent book shows how to integrate them in one's own health management programme. Similar helpful books include The Amino Revolution by Erdmann and Amino Acids In Therapy by Chaitow.
