This book was one of the required texts in our OT and Biomechanics class. I am currently an OT student on Fieldwork). This book contains an abundance of useful information. Although it was published in 1992, it has great value. The 17 chapters are: Functional Anatomy; Wound Healing; Clinical Evaluation; Sensibility Testing; Functional Evaluation; Wound Management; Therapeutic Exercise; Physical Agents & Electrotherapy Techniques; Splinting; Skeletal Injuries; Nerve Injuries; Tendon Injuries; Rheumatoid Arthritis; Cumulative Trauma; Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy; Traumatic Injuries of the Hand (crush injuries & amputations); Returning the Hand-Injured Patient to Work. In addition, there are appendixes that include procedure for taking volumetric, goniometric, and strength measurements. While you do need more detailed for modalities, splinting, exercise, and gonimetric measurements, this book is a helpful review of these topics. The entire book is well-organized throughout( i.e.any subheadings, etc.) which makes it an even more valuable reference and study tool. There are some good colored pictures depicting wounds, lots of black and white pictures depicting various treatments. The book also contains lots of good treatment ideas as well. Case studies at end of appropriete chapters do a great job of tying all the material in a chapter together. I feel this book should be a part of the professional library of any student or practicing OT.

This is one of the extremely few books which I have both kept from my student days and repeatedly refer to, although I am a radiologist, not an orthopedist. This is truly an excellent and concise book.

We bought this book used when we were expecting our second child. He had been pre-diagnosed through ultrasound has having Left-sided diaphragmatic hernia. This book is the only book that has any information about this defect. My husband and I read it thoroughly. It is rather old but if you are expecting a cdh baby and want to read the history of the treatment and how far medical science has come (at least up to the point when this book was published) while you are waiting, this would be a good book. I must interject here that if you doctor has told you there is no hope (and most doctors still believe there isn't) don't listen to him/her. Get educated and help your baby. It won't be perfect but it will likely be better than the doctor says.

Clasic book in this field of medical science; the book is extremly usefull for unexpirienced surgeons, but for an "old woolfs" too. Actually, with the TACHDJIAN literature, there is nothing else one pediatric orthopaedist need to reed. I will translate this monography in CROATIAN language, it will be my way to show how am I gratefull to the Author.

Tomatis book the conscious ear is an amazing book. Not only does he describe his life but also how he thinks and works. I thought I knew a lot about his sound therapy before reading the book, but after reading the book I almost feel like I had been in his studio. On the professional level his descriptions of the sound therapy are very detailed and the book makes you want to read more as well as his others books.

I love this book! Not only are the calorie counts LOW, but the recipes are easy to follow and the outcome is beautiful and delicious. I made a huge meal for company using 8 of the recipes, and the total calorie count was under 500. The meal was so beautiful and bountiful that no one would have thought we were eating a low calorie meal! Chef Dave knows when adding just the right compliment to a dish is worth the investment...and the product will make you just want to try more from this book!

This is a very well written book- the authors write from experience and actually do distill the core of the subject for one's perusal.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who does a significant amount of trauma, and who wish to find the essence of the subject in a short , easily reviewed format-

Excellent references are also given, with a short review of the salient points in the articles
