This book should be read by everyone who perform Phaco surgeries. It's a great book, with great pictures and comes with a CD too. Don't wait to have your first complication to buy this book. BUY IT, READ IT, AND AVOID YOUR "NIGHTMARES"!!!!!! I would certainly recommend it!

This is a very updated review of how to manage difficult cases and deal with complications in phacoemulsification. The book is well organized in sections, and the items very helpfull for anyone interested in phaco surgery.
The cd-rom illustrates selected cases, but i think it could be better if deals with all scenarios in the book.

One who dedicate his/her life to the plastic surgery should own this book as a "BIBLE".

I really enjoyed reading this book and recommended it to all my friends.

I really enjoyed the book because it showed the human side of plastic surgeons. The stories were easy to read and made you laugh and cry. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in plastic surgery. I also liked the fact that the book's profits are going to the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation. A great gift for anyone.

It's hard to find good subspecialty info when trying to review for step 2, even though all my colleagues warned me this stuff was on the test. I'm very glad I used this book, which has 50 cases that use an "unknown" case format, because I had many subspecialty questions on my exam (ophthalmology, vascular surgery and neurosurgery especially). This book gave me the info I needed to get these questions right and doesn't take long to read. I recommend it for those who, like me, are trying to do better than just squeak by on the test.

Fantastic way to review for step 2. Great "vignettes" mimic the format of the seemingly eternally long clinical scenario questions that were on my exam. Explanations are superb, because they help you with the differential for similar conditions and give you practical pointers for things the boards love to ask or will try to trick you with. All in all, a great investment.

Very impressive book.
the only problem as I see it: A lot of the stuff inside has already been distilled and given to us( residents and fellows) in small doses. So you already know a sizable portion of the work.
Another guru I regard highly, for pleural disease is Steven Sahn from MUSC.

the book is THE state of the art in pleural diseases, exactly what you'd expect from Dr. Light. updated, concise, and clinically directed.

Well organized book that allows one quick and easy access to relevant imaging information for 100 H&N disease processes. The organization is perfect for the resident who is in need of a fast overview for a certain disease entity. Also would be perfect for the clincal resident ie- ENT, neurosurgery, skull base surgery. Good quality schematic diagrams and radiographs, although slightly larger images for some cases would be nice. Nevertheless, this is an excellent text.

This is an outstanding book. One of the best head and neck radiology books ever written. Great review book for neuro CAQ. every radiology dept. should have a copy of this book. spectacular review of top diagnoses and all relavent pertinent info condensed into great package. Highest rating *****.

An excellent concise abdominal MR book. Very "big picture" yet thorough. I highly recommend it!

The recent growth of abdominal and pelvic MRI has dramatically increased the complexity of this field. Practical Guide to Abdominal and Pelvic MRI was written as an alternative to the traditionally large (hard to learn) reference textbooks. The authors' premise for this publication is that LESS IS MORE. The same premise of outstanding author Clyde Helms. In other words, we should attempt to learn the essentials first and then delve into the in-depth. This up-to-date book contains practical and concise descriptions, high quality illustrations, state-of-the-art technique (MR Angiography, MR urography, MRCP, Obstetric Imaging), the most common clinical cases encountered in daily practice, MR acronyms and terminology, and frequently asked questions to help you navigate through the complex world of abdominal and pelvic MRI. I do recommend this book.

This book was originally written as a clinical companion to Kandel, Schwartz, and Jessell's Principles of Neural Science, but it works quite well as a stand-alone for a neurology clerkship. It has the perfect balance of detailed neuroanatomy and clinical relevance. I strongly recommend it to anyone. It's about 300 pages, but it's an easy 300 pages. The first 100 give a detailed neurologic history and physical exam with relevant discussion of neuroanatomy. It's arranged so that during the first 100 pages there are references to specific cases in the last 200 pages so you're constantly flipping to the back for a clinical presentation of whatever pathology you're reading about. It's the perfect length for a 4-week elective. I paid $13 (including shipping) for my used but unmarked copy on Amazon Marketplace.

Intellectual and yet a fun and interesting introduction to the Neurological exam - and common Neurological disorders. Dr. Brust is a great teacher. This is evident in the way he conveys his approach to clinically relevant neural science.
