Steve's 4th book in the Ultimate guides series was good . I like the fact that he does not try to force his views or beliefs on anyone. He says take what you want from the book and anything your uncomfortable with leave behind. I am a born again Christian who's Lord & Saviour is Jesus Christ. I appreciate the fact that I can practice reiki as a Christain and Steve made me feel comfortable doing it. His books and DVD's have great information for anyone seeking to use reiki healing whether Christian or non-Christian. The attunement DVD's are wonderful and really work.

Reiki for Everyone

I am working on my master's in mental health counseling. I will be using methods like meditation and Reiki in my practice. In the past people marketed Transcendental Meditation (TM) to make large sums of money. The concept of meditation was good but using it to bilk large sums of money from others was just wrong. Reiki is at a crossroads. People must decide if it is to be used just as a money making scheme or for the betterment of mankind. The concept of Reiki works. It has helped many people. But like TM some see Reiki as a way to make large sums of money off others. Steve Murray has taken Reiki and made it available to everyone at a fair price. His books and tapes work. Bravo Steve!

I became a 2nd level Reiki healer about 11 years ago and never got sick until I quit practicing a few years ago. Recently I was diagnosed with a health issue so I decided to be in control of my own health again and restarted to practice Reiki.

Among a few Reiki books that I purchased lately, Mr. Murray's book really surprised me because it was full of "technical" information but so easy to understand. I then purchased more of his books, DVDs and CD. I was skeptical about the DVD attunement but it works well for me. I'm using it almost every other day and can feel my Reiki energy flows stronger than before. I'm grateful for these programs and now a Reiki Master certified through his program.

I have recommended Mr. Murray's programs to my friends who suffer from health problems or stress.

What can I say about Steve Murray and his work... I have been a Reiki practitioner for over a decade, and I can tell you that Steve's books and DVDs are among my most treasured possessions on my book case. I see his work benefiting both existing Reiki practitioners and those just looking to get started.

Steve's books are like GOLD, as they are actually more comprehensive than the materials provided by most Reiki masters to their students. I am sure that many Reiki Masters must be upset with Steve, as he divulges information that most Reiki Masters believe to be secret, including all the symbols up to Master Level, and the attunement processes. Most Reiki books do not include this information, and have been very disappointing to me.

After buying his first book, I decided, after reading the reviews, I needed to own the others. I currently have all 5 Reiki guides and the Reiki myths book. And, of course, the package would not be complete without the DVDs.

I would say, though, that although the first book is excellent, it is not enough for me. I needed the Visual of the DVDs to bring it all home. So, I don't think that you can buy a single book, read it, and walk away a Reiki Master. Each of his books and DVDs, however, complements the others. With the combination of the Books, DVDs, studying and practice, you CAN BECOME A REIKI MASTER.

What's awesome about the DVDs is that you can take the attunements over and over again. As someone who was attuned in person by a Reiki Master over a Decade ago, I can attest to the DVD attunements as being every bit as effective as in person.

My only criticism is that the whole package should be sold as a complete set, as once you get started, you will want the whole set anyway. However, I guess that most will not want to plunk down that money (even though it is completely reasonable in the scheme of things) without first experiencing the quality of it with the first book.

If you are interested in Reiki, and don't want to waste your time and money with disappointments, just get this material, and you will not regret it.

Excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn Reiki

I own all of Steve's Reiki books and Reiki Attunement DVDs and have found the attunements to be powerful and effective and the companion books (Reiki the Ultimate Guide, Vol. 1-4) to be comprehensive and well written. I commend him for making a powerful healing tool available to so many people.

I have read over a half dozen books on heart disease and this is one of my favorites. Included is references to the current theories related to the cause of heart disease and treatment plans. You will find most of the information available in most books in this book. However, if you want a little more information on dealing with heart disease in a holistic dietary manner other than supplements, any of Joel Fuhrman's books, will give you a little more insight and offer contrasting views related to reversing heart disease through a change in diet.

Personally, I think most of the authors are missing a major contributer to heart disease when do not give 'stress' levels higher prominance in contributing to heart disease - and overlook how much it can contribute when it occurs in association with the accepted common building blocks of heart disease such as: obesity, refined excessive carbohydrates, hydrogenated/saturated fats, excessive animal protein, and limited fresh vegetables, greens, fruits, nuts and seeds, and whole grains.

In my view, any successful heart disease reversal plan should include stress reduction techniques such as exercise, regular sleep, yoga, meditation, etc, and perhaps, supplements aimed at reversing the effects of stress induced hormones, such as high cortisol levels, etc.

Even when I was in great shape, riding a bike 130 miles a week, my HDL was dangerously low and my HDL/LDL ratio was awful--it runs in the family. More recently, when the side-effects of statins forced me to quit taking them, my ratio got even worse. One of the websites I consulted about statin side-effects mentioned Dr. Sinatra, and after reading what he had to say about CoQ10 and statins, I bought this book about a month ago.

It's too soon to know if the recommended diet and supplements, combined with the exercise I was already doing, will help, but so far, it looks good. Niacin can double HDL, but when I tried it before, it made my skin so dry it bled. That hasn't happened this time, presumably because of the other supplements, like fish oil, recommended by the book. My family doctor had recommended niacin, but not fish oil, CoQ10, or the other supplements that Dr. Sinatra uses. But when I asked my doctor about CoQ10, he admitted it might be helpful when taking statins. And when I've asked the two MDs in the family about things I've read in the book--CRP, Lp(a), corony calcium testing, etc.,--they always confirm what Dr. Sinatra wrote.

I can't imagine this book won't be helpful to almost anyone concerned with cardiovascular health.

My husband is alive thanks to Dr. Sinatra's published protocols!

My husband suffered from "uncontrollable" hypertension for nearly 30 years until his medical crisis (pneumonia, heart attack, 2 angioplasty procedures, ER screwup made him code blue after vent. tach. w/ torsade de pointes (indicates they flushed his Mg as I said occurred while we were still in the ER), another again unnecessary angioplasty, then an attempted forced coercion into an implanted AICD) (all within ONE WEEK) put us in a situation of firing ALL doctors ever previously involved in his health care. Our new PCP almost immediately discovered underlying deficiencies in magnesium, vitamin D and testosterone - all of which are attributed to high blood pressure. Now that he is on the proper supplements he is no longer on 4 blood pressure meds, 2 diabetes meds and a cholesterol med, instead he is ONLY on a single blood pressure med, a heart protective med, a diabetes med and 1/2 a blood thinner (he has frequent bleeds on any higher dose so his doctor cut back the dosage). Instead of forking out hundreds of dollars a month in unnecessary prescriptions that made him feel horrible (no doubt, 2 were diuretics! which we have since learned his body cannot tolerate!) and he barely had the energy to drag himself out of bed, he now feels great, has loads of energy, has reversed his severe heart disease naturally. A local cardiologist told him a year ago his next step was a heart transplant, another cardiologist told him he'd be dead within 2 weeks - that was 15 months ago!) so obviously we did *something* right. That *something* was finding a team of great doctors and finding Dr. Stephen Sinatra's book "Reverse Heart Disease Now".

Thank you Dr. Sinatra! My husband is not only alive today, our marriage is greatly improved and we both are much healthier. I now also follow Dr. Sinatra's protocol for maintenance. Despite being severely obese my blood pressure is now a very healthy 106/68. Since beginning his protocol I feel so much better myself and now have the energy to tone up and lose some weight - all because a friend led us to Dr. Sinatra's books!

Please see my review for Nutrabulk's d-Ribose in the 1 kilogram size - I further elaborate on the seriousness of the crisis my husband was in and how rapidly we moved from "serious crisis" to "much improved health" taking the supplement that Dr. Sinatra recommends in this book.

I have read this book, and agree 100% with what they are saying. Most doctors wouldn't want you to know all this, because if you follow the advice you would probably feel much better.

I have already bought 6 copies of this book to give as a gift to ppl I care about. Stop wasting time reading these reviews and buy this book, read it and follow this advice!!

D-Ribose, arginine, Carnitine, L-Proline, EDTA, Co Q-10, Nattokinase, lab tests, all of these are extremely important!

By the way Life Extension has a good set of supplements, but you don't need to get them from their website, even if you pay the membership, it's cheaper to get them through amazon or some other retailer!

I'm 46 years old, I'm 35 pounds over weight, rarely excercise and don't drink & don't smoke. However, I like cheesy, fatty, & fried foods. I'm a pretty typical middle aged American man. That being said, my wife is constantly on me about my health. She is in great shape, excercises & eats right. I didn't tell her, but I started having tightness in my chest. So, I bought a couple books. This one made the most sense. I've read it twice and I learn a little more each time.

Other reviewers complained that the vitamin program was too extensive. However, from the information, I put together a simple version of the vitamin plan that I felt was appropriate for me. The tightness in my chest is gone, my blood pressure is down, and I feel good enough that I've now been able to work on my lifestyle.

A little more activity each week, fewer fatty foods, and more vegetables. Feeling good from the vitamin supplement program first, gave me the motivation to work on my other problem habits. Not a drastic change, but steps in the right direction. I've now lost 14 pounds & feeling better every day. I keep up the supplement program because if I'm off for more than 4 days, I start to feel it in my chest.

I highly recommend this book. In fact I've bought 3 more & given them to friends and family that I knew could benefit. It worked for me.

Ran across this book while searching for others and i decided to pull it off the shelf not sure I would like it. Out of the four various books i grabbed this is the one i couldn't put down as i read page by read wondering what's next. It was remarkably funny, simple - easy to understand and read, and engaging. The kind of book that you can read and forget that the world outside it existed as you fell deep into it. This book is simple, but profound, fast paced but holding more information than any other book will show in in all it's chapters. Not one bit of it is slow, and what's most interesting is not one of you won't feel like this girl Sara is you, as if the essence of your life has just been captured in a short 29 chapters.

This book is both fantasy and informative with such a succesful blending together that it's not any tedious work at all, and the way it informs you is so different from any of abrahams works that no matter how many times you have listened to her, or anyone else this book will feel like a new adventure. Oh and it's about the law of attraction, enjoy!

Reread it again, it's even better

This book is amazing, it might be written for kids but as an adult it has opened my eyes tremendously. I have read all of the other books written by Esther and Jerry Hicks and this book is the one that gave me the light bulb moment. After reading every page it was like my soul just opened up a little bit more and I everything, every book that I had read began to mesh, I began to understand everything that I had read in prior books. This book should be in all schools across America and in every home for every child to read along with the parents. An amazing book!!!!!

The Sara books are great for kids! I will buy them all for my daughter. I have to say I'm 28 years old and I adored all 3 Sara books myself. They were really fun to read, providing an inside-the-mind of a child perspective of life and the law-of-attraction with lots of great stuff to ponder. I cherished my time reading these books and felt like the child/young woman in me was nourished.

Trusting God by Jerry Bridges turned into something I was not expecting, and I was all the happier for it. I have read enough defenses for the sovereignty of God, both philosophical and apologetical. Instead, Bridges presents a biblically-grounded celebration of the sovereignty of God in all things.

His central theme asserts that we can only trust God when bad things happen if He is totally sovereign, wise, and loving. This in response to the age old question of evil: either evil came about because God is all-powerful but not all-loving, or because God is all loving but not all-powerful. Rabbi Harold Kushner chose the latter in his best-selling book When Bad Things Happen to Good People, a position that Bridges references (and refutes) throughout the book.

Instead, Bridges presents a God that is both powerful and loving, both sovereign and wise. He does it with the awareness of the tensions between God's sovereignty and man's responsibility, yet he does not rely on speculation or philosophy. Rather he draws heavily from both the Old and New Testament to defend a sovereignty that overcomes evil, a sovereignty that secures the glory of God and the good of His people, a sovereignty that can be trusted.

A great book with a great theme

A friend had told me about this book, and I checked it out of her church's library. Little did I know how much the title, theme, and words would impact me. "Trust" now has am expanded meaning to me. I shared my copy with another friend, and when I purchased this book on Amazon.com, I bought TWO so my friend and I can study it together. I am eagerly reading it AGAIN for its profound content and am looking up all the references, too.

This is one of the best books I have read, not only for myself, but to encourage and read with others. The writing is clear and easy to understand for those with little church background, yet challenges and encourages the most experienced believer. In describing the different areas of trust it is clear both why we must trust God, and how to trust God. Highly recommend!

Bridges' book has been helpful to me in my personal "walk". When life goes sour, I KNOW I don't automatically trust God to be in control, and rest in that... but feel I ought to. Bridges is laying a credible foundation for trusting that God is in control of His created world in general, and my individual life in particular. I'd already make it a goal to grow in trutsting Him in 09, and this book is helping.
I recommend it highly--even if the reader doesn't entirely agree with the author, it would be a great place for dialoging to begin.

I know that when a pet is sick or injured, the best thing to do is to consult their veterinarian. But let's face it, sometimes that isn't really practical. And sometimes, FIRST AID is needed to even get the pet to the vet. I have had vets tell me that there are some OTC medications that are safe for pets, but they never tell me which ones or how much. Frustrating.

Finally, we have a resource with good, practical advice on when to call the vet, and what to do in the meantime, or in some cases - what to do instead. This book provides information on what OTC remedies can be safely used for dogs and cats, as well as some good old fashioned non-medication remedies for some ailments. And it is written in an easy-to-read; easy-to-understand format. Topics are arranged alphabetically by what is ailing your 4-legged friend, so it is easy to find what you need to know in a hurry.

My frustration is over. This is a great book for any pet parent.

It has more serious ailments such as a heat stroke and more casual ones such as vomiting up a hairball. It also has a handy chart that tells you what human medicines will work for your pets. I highly recommend it.

met her need and has been a tool that will become part of her working

Better than Stedman's or Dorlands

I have had a Stedman's and Taber's medical dictionary for years (20+) and they had gotten a bit long in the tooth so I bought this book and Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary as I thought Dorland's looked slightly better than Stedman's. I decided to compare definitions of a word in both books and Mosby's definition was impressive enough to have me make the purchase (amiodarone was the word, a cardiovascular drug). I used it while studying for a recertification examination and found it by my side as I went through several other books.

This book was the single best resource I had after purchasing almost $1k worth of new books!

The quantity of definitions may not exceed Dorlands, but the QUALITY of the definitions is SUPERB. You get not only a skeleton, minimalist definition but a mini-tutorial of each topic. Just the dermatology related definitions alone with pictures kept me from buying a dermatology book. Definition after definition I looked up - and this went well over a thousand words, perhaps 2 or 3k words - resulted in getting an excellent authoritative discussion of a topic, giving the most salient points in a concise and highly readable form. I had in excess of a 99% 'hit rate' of finding highly useful information with each lookup. Doing this with Dorland's gave me the most trivial definitions in comparison, often little more than the pronunciation of the word and a circular reference to another definition. I gave up after about 100 words as an exercise in time wasting.

I put this book right up there with the Merck Manual as absolute must haves for any serious student of medicine - from the senior specialist to the beginning nursing student. I give it the highest accolades.

I have two more words for how this helped me study for my exam - THANK YOU !

The lady sitting next to me said "You are truly enjoying that book. I have
seen you laugh, sigh, giggle and even cry while reading it. I am going to
buy it as soon as I get home.".
My son now wants to become a vet his grades are good, especially science and math, and we live near
"The Ohio State University", so he may even attend the same Vet school as
Dr. Sharp!I have sent a copy to my parents and two neighbors.

On the surface this book describes the days of a small-town vet. But it goes well beyond that to illustrate the ambiance of this country when people and times were more personal, more gracious, and much more in tune with those things that still really matter no matter how "global" we are claimed to have become by the talking heads of the media and government.
It will convince the reader that those "better times and people" really haven't disappeared, and that is tremendously Good News.

A Must Have Book if you're serious about kicking cancer

I am absolutely 100% convinced that Rebecca's recipes helped save my best friend's life. We used her book and her system of upping the flavor of food to make the most amazing, delicious, and proactively nutritious meals I've ever eaten! (And as someone who belonged to a cookbook club for years, that's saying a lot!) The truth about dealing with cancer is that things have to change. You've got to eat healthy to get healthy - and this has to be part of your overall approach to healing and kicking cancer's butt. This book is your best resource to help you get that done!

I knew how to cook delicious food, but when it came to cooking delicious nutritious food that would actually help boost the immune system, I was clueless. What average person knows that?! Thankfully, Rebecca has written this amazing book - it teaches you about what's good and healthful, gives amazing recipes, and most of all she is dedicated to "Yum" in every bite. Major yum in every bite. This food is completely and totally delicious.

Rebecca's book did more than change my best friend's life, it changed my life too. I now look at food in a whole new way. And now I know how to get the flavor to "pop" to its fullest so that it's so amazingly tasty that everybody says "yum" with every bite. Read about her FASS system - it will forever change your cooking and take the flavor of your food to a whole new level.

I am sincerely thankful to Rebecca for creating these recipes. The food is nutritious and healing. This book should be your guide to cooking for loved ones with cancer, and should be the new staple in your life to help you fight that battle. And you will love the recipes so much they'll become a part of your life, too, even if you are already healthy! What a great way to continue your good health! This book has a wonderful spirit to its writing, and Rebecca's dedication to helping with healing that comes through in every page. I completely recommend it. It is absolutely a Must-Have book!

Although I do not have a diagnosed illness, I prefer a clean, vibrant, preventive diet. If these menus and foods are a great way to heal the body, I'm sure they are excellent for maintaining health, too.

'One Bite At A Time' offers a fresh approach to eating well, and, as an added bonus, the photos are stunning!

Beautiful recipes, entertaining writing, and educational all at the same time!

This is one of my favorite cookbooks - which says a lot as I have more than 100 cookbooks. I love how Rebecca explains the principle of FASS (Fat, Acid Salt, Sweet) right in the beginning of the book so that it helps to form the foundation for tasting the food and figuring out which component to adjust. She also does a good job explaining how cancer patients may taste things differently which was enlightening.

The recipes are healthy, fun, and easy to implement. I actually think that it is great that she introduces ingredients such as kombo so that we can cook with such nutrient rich ingredients.

I have also enjoyed her casual writing style like the one where she was inspired by the llama in the garden. All in all, definitely a worthwhile purchase, and a cookbook not just for cancer survivors and patients, but everyone who enjoys healthy and gourmet food.

One Bite at a Time: Nourishing Recipes for Cancer Survivors and Their Friends
While this book is aimed at getting good, dense nutrition into cancer survivors (and those going through treatment), I found the recipes to be colorful, tasty and easy to prepare, though some of the ingredients are not the everyday find.

This takes you back to another time when broths were made from scratch--or can be purchased as an alternative backup plan. This cookbook has inspired me to begin to cook again rather than use so many processed, empty calorie meals and has helped me to realize that whole, lesser processed food can also make me feel better, lose weight, and look my best.

This is without a doubt one of the greatest works ever written on the Yip Man Ving Tsun system. The only other books I would recommend are those by Shaun Rawcliffe.

I train Ving Tsun in the Moy Yat lineage, so my review comes from that perspective. I think Sifu Belonoha's book is an amazing reference guide that can supplement serious Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) training. Bear in mind, however, that this is not a book you buy to learn Ving Tsun kung fu from. It is supplemental material if you are a student in training. It could also be used as a guide for a new person to show what you can expect from ving tsun training.

The book covers details in applications and forms, diet recommendations, work out habits, ving tsun history and lineage, etiquette, customs and so forth. The level of detail of this information is unmatched in its thoroughness and accuracy, and frankly, this is the first and last ving tsun reference book you will ever need. I recommend using this book with the guidance of your sifu, and to not dig further ahead in your training than you are introduced to concepts in class. But this is a priceless supplement to review techniques and forms you have already been introduced to.

If you're looking for a book that will teach you kung fu: don't. Find an instructor, then buy this book.

Being a student for 13 yrs, it was good to find a book that covered so many topics of wing chun and his approach to it all. While I may not agree with a lot the author had to write, too much outdated info, he stayed faithful to the minimal of the art...namely a good description of the forms. The photos and explanations may help someone who forgot how to do the forms. Otherwise not much else if you never practiced wing chun.

I am not a very emotional person, and I found myself crying at least once every chapter. This is a very sad book. I don't recommend it if you are under the age of 10, because the words are small, and the emotions just make you want to reach out. I am very touched by this book. It is DEFINITLY A MUST READ. This is my favorite book I have ever read - and I have read ALOT OF BOOKS

I thought this book was very good. It talked about a girl who ends up getting a form of cancer called leukemia. She meets people in the hospital who like her and don't like her. During her difficulties in the hospital some zebras come to her and she thinks their not real but what she comes to find out is that she is the zebras assigned human. She goes back and forth to her assigned zebra herd. This is a great story for people who like to act like their in the book.

I have had the book since it first came out. My book is so worn from reading it over and over again. I read probley every six monthes. Now I need by another because it is so used it is falling apart.

This book goen into depth just how bad cancer can be. You may car at the end. When I frist read it I did the way she dies is so sad. Anyway you get to see how things work for getting rid of cancer. You also will see how couagre is thouht and how Becky stands up for herself. This such a good book! I think there should be a second one to it. It would tell what happens after Zink and how her faimly is doing.

Inspiring Book that tell you of real life courage and bravery.

I've read Zink countless times since I got in the 4th grade. Every night, I sit down and go to my favorite parts of the book, and then shead a tear or two as I lay down to sleep.

Ever since I first read Zink, I started looked at my own life closer. I noticed how lucky I was to have my hair, not be sick all the time, and not always have Lukemia on my mind. This book is so inspiring for everyone. And in more ways than one. Ever since I read the book, I have been planning my own book to write about Lukemia, called Bald and Beautiful. Although no book could top zink, I think I will give my planned book a shot.

True courage is admitting that you are scared but continuing to fight. I have applied this to every day life, from math tests to track meets, riding rollar coasters to standing up in front of a bully. Every day, when I'm about to face something scary, I try to have true courage. And before I read Zink, I never knew what true courage was.

Zink is a great book that I reccmond to all my friends. I actually like how Becky dies at the end, though it is very, very, sad. Before you protest and stop reading this review, please listen to my reason. Two years ago, my best friend was diagnosed with Lukemia. And today, sadly to say, she isn't hear anymore. Not all people will live, and Zink teaches you that.

Knowing what Chemo is like, the book does a great job of telling people all the horrible, horrible details. I was with my friend almost every day when she was having Chemo, and I was right outside her room when she was having her TBR. And I remember when she got her BMT so clearly, that just reading this book brought back so many memories.

All in all, if you want a really good read, with totally real facts and plots, than Zink is for you.
