I do not say this lightly! I must own over 100 cookbooks; Vegan, French, Pastry, Chinese you name it.. This cookbook sends every other cookbook into oblivion. Every single recipe in this book is do-able (except the pie crust, p. 168). You will find a wealth of information here as well as tasty, healthy and user-friendly recipes. I bought this cookbook when I first got married in '89 and it is the one I check back with, pick up again and again. Buy this cookbook, for yourself, for your neighbor, friends, sister-in-law, anyone and everyone! It is truly an amazingly well written, well thought out cookbook.

The recipes in this book are creative, simple and taste good. It doesn't take much time at all to whip them up and most of the ingredients are ones you have on hand. Makes a weight loss program all the more doable using this cook book. A must have when time is of the essence.

This book was for me a real eyeopener. For many years now i'm working in psychogeriatric care as a senior psychologist. As we al know in this field, many residents of nursing homes have problem behavior. They are at a high risk for wandering, depression and agitation. We expect that nursing staff, often low educated, can handle all this kind of behavior. Well they just can't! The reaction is to often the use of medication. The authors of this book, wich is in fact a course, proposed that much of these problems are learned! This is important. On the base of the international literature they build, together with the nursses in the homes an excellent method to handel effective with these problems. Behavior is seen as ACTION. Every Action starts BECAUSE of something in the environment and is continued by CONSEQUENCES: ACTION BECAUSE of CONSEQUENCES!. In the course the nurses learn to communicate with residents, they learn to observe along the line of the ABC's and they learn how to handle the three types of problembehavior wich are most common in nursinghomes. I already mentioned them. The course is very practical, problem oriented and uses many exercises. We have used the method here in Holland. Well it's a big succes. I can only say use it! It's favorable for the residents AND the nursing staff. When they can handle the problems there will be less burn-out among them. For the residents the outcome can mean a lesser use of medication and a much much more human aproach. This is behavior therapy at its best: practical, effective, creative and open minded for all kind of human aproaches wich can enhance the lives of these frail elderly people. USE IT.

This is the only book I have seen written from the resident's point of view. It is very informative as what it is like to be living in a nursing home. It certainly opened my eyes about what my mother must feel about being in a nursing home. I thought that they were all bad places. This book shares what the good ones must be like. My mother can't tell us what it is like. This book helped our family understand what it must be like. We visit much more frequently now. Sometimes you forget that these residents are people too.

Additives is an excellent book for children in the middle school level. From a brief history of additives to knowing the different types of additives, this book is filled with useful information. Ms. Nottridge includes photos, recipies, a glossary, and a metric chart to help guide kids in making healthy choices in their food selections.

Very helpful for getting a new job in the field. Had all the answers I needed.

It is a wonderful book. The information provided was an opportuniy to know about suicide in adolescent. It was an excelent tool to prepare a research article. I reccommend without any reserve.
