I've been procrastinating on re-starting a strength routine. This was perfect for me - just 15 minutes!!! Of course, I plan to build it into a longer routine, but at least it got me off the couch. I'm looking forward to doing the beach-ball/medicine ball routine next. I wish there were more titles in this series - I'd buy them all!!!

Exactly as title describes

Great book and DVD combination. Workout is easy to follow and takes exactly 15 minutes as the title describes start to finish. There are 4 different workouts for variety. Very helpful to have the book to read thru and get familiar with the workout first and then DVD is very easy to follow. Music is pleasantly in the background and narrator voice is easy to listen to. I love the 15 min workout book and am finally exercising on a regular basis because with this easy to use, 15 minutes only workout I have no more excuses! Thanks Joan Pagano!

An informative and effective workout.

This book is great for people who need good instruction and in fifteen minutes you definitely get a good workout. It's easy, to the point and shows you exactly how to do each and every move. You not only get to read the book but you also get to follow along with a DVD. There really isn't much to the DVD but it shows you exactly what to do and in a very short amount of time.

So Fast and SO Effective

I LOVE this work-out! The first time I did it the time went by so fast I thought I had only been working out for about 5 minutes! I seriously couldn't believe that I got a great work out in that amount of time - I broke a good sweat! There are different catagories too so you can vary your work-out during the week so that you don't get bored (hop, jig and jump is one of my favorites). I love that the book comes with a DVD. The DVD is so clear and easy to follow - and most importantly, it's not annoying - just enough instruction and just enough motivation.

If you're traveling and can't watch the DVD or want to know more detail, the book is an amazing grown-up version of a picture book. Everything is clearly demonstrated so that you're not just following text and wondering if your form is correct. The Q&A sections in the book are also very insightful and interesting and have debunked a lot of fitness myths for me.

I've given this book to my mother and friends and they all rave about it! A 15 Minute Workout that actually WORKS? How could you not love that?!

Good workout

At first I thought this workout would be too easy but since it was this or nothing and that it was only 15 minutes (no excuses) I figured I had nothing too lose. Well its a pretty good workout-I am pretty tired at the end of 15 minutes. I am not the most physically fit guy but I am no potatoe couch either-I play flag football in a church league and softball etc..so all in all I like the workout and it being 15 minutes is a plus becuase you can do it quickly-I do the last "hard" workout.

Always and forever is an amazing story and I reccommened anyone to read it. THis story is about Melissa Austin, a beautiful girl with a great family and a great life. Her best friend Jory and her brother Micheal were her two most favorite people she knew although Micheal disliked Jory. All Melissa wanted was for Jory and Micheal to get along. Then Melissa received the most shocking news of her life, she was diagnosed with leukemia. This news was very devastating to her family and friends. Her family and friends watched as Melissa went through this ongoing battle with leukemia and all the could do was support her. After Melissa had a relapse at the age of seventeen she died of LEukemia. After Melissa's death Micheal decided to fufill her dream of Jory and Micheal getting along. So Micheal took Jory up with him into his hot air balloon.
This book has taught me that life is short and you should make the best of it because you never know what is going to happen next. It has taught me that even if a persons life seems great things can still go horribly wrong. This book has influenced me to live my life differently and to stop complaining about things because there are people out there who have it worse than I do. Before I read this book I did not think it was going to teach as much as it did, but now that I have read it I am glad I did.

this book was amazing. I picked it up off the school library shelf because all of my friends had said it was an awesome book. they weren't exagerating.

This book tells about a young girl, in her junior year of high school, who is dignosed with lymphocytic leukemia. Melissa is very smart, she is working hard to get the merit scholorship for college. Her best friend Jory, it always there for her, and always working by her side. Jory isn't as "smart" as Melissa, and keeps telling her friend she should get a better social life. Melissa doesn't care about boys, or partying, she just wants to study.

About four months into her junior year Melissa is feeling sick, and gets these bruises on her legs. So the gym teacher reports them to the guidence cousular. She thinks Melissa is getting abused at home. Melissa freaks out, her mother and older brother Micheal have always been supportive...and loving to her. So her mother takes her to the doctor to get checked out. they take a few tests, draw a little blood...and boom. Melissa has lymphocytic leukimia.

This book really shows the hardships of cancer. The chemotherapy Melissa has to go through, makes her get sick almost every five minutes. She is always drowsy, and feels like crap. The way Lurlene McDaniel captures Jory's, and Micheal's and Melissa's feelings is amazing. I cried through half of the book. Its amazing...I recomend this book to anyone. Its more of a girly book, but hey...guys if you like this type of stuff...its an awesome book!

I thought I was doing OK until I read this book, and realized that I must do a lot more if I want to end my days in control of my mind, able to recognize my loved ones. The good news is that everything you do for your mind is also good for your heart. The bad news is that salmon and blueberries aren't cheap. This book isn't just for oldsters, but for everyone over 40.

I just received this book which I have been meaning to buy for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. Mr. Shore did a great job not only taking us through his life's journey through autism, but also sidelining it with various observations. I am always amazed at those who ventured on the autism spectrum before the word autism was even recognized by many people. Reading books written by those with autism offer such wonderful insight and perspective. I highly recommend this book for parents who are trying to better understand their child with AS as well as those with AS who are navigating high school and/or college futures. There are some great suggestions and ideas.

I especially like how Mr. Shore talked about many of the jobs he held and why he succeeded or what he learned from his not so successful job situations. I think having a supplemental book on this subject alone would be very worthwhile...especially if it came from a variety of viewpoints. Hmmm.

Great Job!

This articulate man gives us an autobiographical view at the difficulties faced as a person with high-functioning autism or Asperger's Syndrome grows up and tries to join the working world. It is tough, and he is often misunderstood, yet he very intelligent and has a great deal to offer the world. Although he will always have his "social skills" disability, it is heartening that he is now happily married and has found a career path.

I have two young children on the autism spectrum. My constant fear and therefore my constant drive is to help them be independent and happy in their lives. Fortunately, both have very mild forms, one PDD and one autism. So, as I watch and learn from their ways of learning, I find that first, I have many quirks, and then can see those quirks in others. It is a fascinating way to look at the differences in how we all learn. In many ways, we are all on the autism spectrum.

This was an easy read, and one that would be of interest to those studying in the field. It is not too full of jargon, and can easily be read by all. This is a field woefully undertaught to teachers seeking certification.

Would like to meet you, Stephen....

I recently had a young family member diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and wanted to know more about experiences and views from persons with Asperger Syndrome. I believe Stephen was able to inform the reader of what it is like to exist in a world without having the social skills we non Aspies take for granted. The book lets one know the challenges that might exist in the future for someone diagnosed with Aspergers during an early age.

I got this book several weeks ago and I love it! The directions are easy to follow and many of the juices just have a couple of ingredients instead of 10 like some of the other books I've had. I also like that it tells you what nutrition that you get out of it so it helps you pick which juice you want that day. I recommend this book for anyone especially if you're just starting out juicing because it explains everything so well.

This is my first juice book and I absolutely love it. I take the book to bed every night and decide what juice to make next morning. I'm so hooked to juicing. The receipts are very simple and easy to read. I've graduated from fruity juice and now ventures to veggie juice. Before the book, I've never had bought kale, beet, guava, or watercress. Not afraid to try any juice in this book. The only downside is a lack of calorie information.

As a teacher I find its content up-to-date and concise. The photos are clear, the exercises are brilliant, and the tips for students are an extra bonus. My students have learned an incredible amount from this book, and I see it in their work with each other. Its functional approach, illustrations, layout, and overall format not only make it easy to use, but a pleasure as well. All others fail to brighten up an otherwise historically dry subject. It will relight your fire and renew your, perhaps neglected, promise of self-care!

Great book for anyone ever experiencing relationship probems. Many have no idea that they may have codependent issues; many people don't know what codependency is. Knowing what it is and what to do about it has saved my sanity, (literally), changed my life and my attitudes toward myself and others. Knowing what codependency is and what to do about will set you free if you suffer from it's dibilitating effects.

I was skeptical at first about reading a book on the steps. I wasn't sure if it could help me. I had attended a few meetings and thought I knew some of the concepts, but this book opened my eyes. I think that Melody Beattie is very personal and caring in the mind of a codependent. She made me feel like I wasn't a bad person and I could recover from the out of control way my life has been. I'm only on step three, but I feel like I understand more than I have my whole life about who I am and my own needs. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with codependency or with the addiction of a loved one. I never even knew I was a codependent, but the book has taught me that I am and its ok, I just need to start making changes.

I bought this based upon the other reviews here - and ended up a bit disappointed. It is a good book and I did get results right away. (3 lbs. in 3 days) but it was hard for me to stick to this plan and it also did confuse me. I did go to her website and I didn't see anything about emailing her questions and they'd answer you (don't know where that other poster was able to do that.) The math confused me a little and I am good at math. She tells you have 20 g of vegetable carbs per meal, then tells you that broccoli has 6 g of carbs per cup, but her example is 1 1/2 cups of broccoli for the meal. Wouldn't you need 3 1/3 cups to get 20 grams? Or maybe I'm just mistaken. When she said an egg white had 3 grams of protein and I'm supposed to get 35 grams of protein, I'm supposed to eat a dozen egg whites? I couldn't do it. I tried to follow this as closely as possible and the foods lists were good, but this isn't a perfect book like everyone else claims. I thought a lot of things could have been better explained because it left me with a lot of questions. I'm on the two week plan now because I gained the 3 pounds back after I ended up cheating on the diet because I got sick of eating egg whites every morning - I never did include a veggie carb at my morning meal - sorry, I just can't do broccoli in the morning - or green peppers for that matter. Oh well - I'll keep trying. Someday I'll get it right.

I purchased Gina's book about a month ago, read thoroughly, and then got started. So far, I have lost 6 lbs. I want to lose about 20 more, and I feel confident that I can achieve it with this plan. I am having a bit of a hard time with the food calculations, but there is plenty of assistance to be found on the website, (it is just me, I am not a math-y person...normal people can do it easily!) or you can e-mail and an answer will be yours. The book is very personable, and easy to understand. The exercises (I use the ones without equipment) don't look hard, but let me tell you, trust Gina when she says not to do them two days in a row...you are very tender. The digital scales are a must. My self esteem is rising - the sky is the limit - thank you, Gina :)

This book is a fun and informative read about the attributes of a fly. We use it along with a lesson on insects and this book helps to reiterate the insect facts as they pertain to a fly. I have gotten lots of laughs from this book both from adults and children. Enjoy!

Now my 5 and 7 yearold grandsons (brothers) have all 3 "Diary" books by this author. The 7-year-old is a very good reader, and he reads it to his brother daily. They both have it memorized, right along with Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider. These books are great -- full of fun and imagination.

I heard laughter from my 1st grade daughters bedroom and then the sound of her little feet running down the hall to share with me several pages from this book.
She read this book over and over because it was so funny. She continued to share pages out of the book with me because she was so excited about it.
I recommend this book to everyone!!

My son loves the "Diary of" series. We had Worm first, then added Spider and now Fly. Like any typical boy he loves bugs and these are fun and inventive. The illustrations are great too!

This is a very comprehensive approach to emotional eating which I am starting. For me, discipline is tough at times. This book provides a lot of good simple and helpful discussion of issues with a defined program of making progress one day at a time. If you expect to buy this book, get the answers and move on - don't waste your money. If you think you are worth the investment of time and care - and you are - then get this book. Be prepared it will take time. This would be a great book for two people to buddy up with or a small group.
I do recommend the book - just like most everything else - this book will give you what you put into it - and it does have some good steps (although I don't agree with all of them). I am going to be looking for a buddy - i might even start a small group to work through together.

Godspeed and know that YOU ARE WORTH THE TIME AND CARE!

I don't use food to address difficult emotions; rather, I am dependent on nicotine. It was easy to read this book and substitute nicotine for food. I believe this book deals with the cause for emotional eating and probably overuse of any substance. I'm using her approach and withn a short time my nicotine dependence reduced. I am hopeful that I will soon be able to accept my emotions and be emotionally independent.

In reading "The End of Diets", I found it so refreshing that someone had written about eating from a personal voice that really spoke to me. I have read countless books on eating and dieting and they all say the same thing, but this one actually explains WHY we eat and what tools are at our disposal to finally, finally, finally eradicate the behavior for life.

I have read "The End of Diets" several times and each time I get something new from it, it has literally changed my life. Because of its insight I have been doing yoga for over a year now and have not been on a "diet" for the first time since I was 12 years old. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is on that roller coaster of dieting and constantly looking for that book that is going to "be the one" that is going to help them.

I got a lot from de la Altagracia's heartfelt guide to healing emotional eating, both as a professional counselor and on a personal level. It is a shame that this book suffers from a lack of editing with grammatical errors and awkward phrasing throughout.
Some of the author's suggestions are familiar and one could dismiss this book as nothing new, however de la Altagracia brings a deeply felt commitment to her process of healing the pattern of "eating through emotions". She succeeds in engaging the reader on a personal, not just intellectual level.
I appreciate the integration of body-awareness and body work into the book's program. The author's approach synthesizes cognitive, emotional, and body-centered methods into a multi-modal strategy. She also provides a simplified explanation of the myriad of diet options currently vying for attention.
De la Altagracia emphasizes the life-long nature of the healing journey, instilling hope and realism.

when i first started to read this book i felt it was going to be someone's success story and that if you did this and that it would work. luckily i kept going past my judgement and allowed myself to hear my excuses and my fears and my past wanting me to stay fat, that has allowed me to stop dieting and just start being, not doing anything but slowly allowing myself to just sit with myself and learn about myself that i wasn't willing to look at and love before. i don't think i will lose weight quickly, but i think i will finally be able to have a balanced control over food.
