This book is required for several programs at the Global Birth Institute and tends to be out of stock often. If you see the book listed, don't hesitate to order it.
Very useful, though hard to navigateReview Date: 2004-04-30
One downside to this book is that the index leaves a lot to be desired. It is not complete and it is poorly organized. Yes, it is in alphabetical order, but the words they indexed are often not helpful. I generally find I have to go through the TOC to find what I need - something a bit backwards from other reference material.
Other than that, this is well worth the money.

THE BEST "how to live with HIV" book on the marketReview Date: 2001-09-20
The advent of HAART has meant a change in the life expectency of HIV patients. As a result the toxic effects of the HIV drugs are seeing many complications and side effects. This book discusses many of these and provides hands on suggestions for dealing with them.
Even if you just exercise you will feel better and you may just slow some of the side effects. You may even reverse some.
I have followed this book very casually since I bought it in July last year up until April 2001. I noticed that my "blood" results (other than Viral Load) were getting better and despite 'failing' a drug combination, my overall health was great. For the last 3 months I have followed some of the books recommendations RELIGIOUSLY. Despite having to change drugs due to resistance, my health and fitness has increased amazingly. And as an added benefit friends say I look the best I have in 10 years. My waist has gone from 38" to 31". My chest, arms and legs have all increased in size. My CD4's both in real and % terms are the highest in 4 years and all my other blood works are excellent. I am 40 years young. 2 weeks ago I completed a Vitality and Longevity Analysis and my Doctor advised that I had the Celular Health of a 26 year old.
I am so confident of the book and the authors that I bought my Doctor a copy.

Changes the way you view Heart diseaseReview Date: 2006-01-06
They do a great job in translating the terms for non medical people. Additionally, I would say that the relationship between the information presented and cancer represented about small percentage of the book, but the linkage is important and worth considering nevertheless.

Arterial Plaque can be removedReview Date: 2007-09-16
There is some controversy in that nanobacteria are not currently scientifically accepted as being living organisms, and that they are not accepted as the cause of arterial plaque formation. The authors give compelling evidence that they are organisms and they do cause plaque formation. Beyond the scientific argument about nanobacteria, there is no debate that arterial plaque and calcification are major contributors to heart disease, and that EDTA chelation therapy can remove this plaque in many people. The book gives numerous examples of those who have been saved from this therapy, and it provides references to where this therapy can be obtained.
It does downplay the effectiveness of oral EDTA chelation, and it highly recommends the use of tetracycline. In that, it seems to favor a therapeutic regimen that is currently available through only one source, and at a premium price. I am trying to give useful information here rather than a simple review. I have researched this to quite an extent and believe that oral EDTA chelation is fairly effective, it is much easier to take, and it is a lot cheaper than the suppositories they recommend. Beyond that garlic and curcumin, are very safe and effective herbs that offer some anti-plaque benefits.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is very thoroughly researched and referenced. Currently the web site www.calcify.com simply displays a message stating that the authors are working on an updated version of the book. I will certainly buy it as soon as it's available. I am disappointed that this book is already out of print and that currently it is selling for such a premium price. If you suffer from life threatening heart disease then by all means buy it, it will be worth every penny to you. If you have more of a scientific interest then you may wish to wait for the updated version or research EDTA chelation therapy on the web.
I would prefer that the future version of the book focus more on methods of removing plaque from the body and less on the scientific debate over nanobacteria.
Good book, but there are other factors involved in calcification.Review Date: 2006-07-16

By giving up my coffee habit I realized having that wired up feeling all day clouded my concentration. Did you know one cup of joe raises your blood pressure by 14%! Fortunately for me I was able to find a wonderful tasting replacement made from soyabeans. You brew like coffee and it even helps lower my cholesterol. I found it online at www.S o y c o f f e e.c o m. Gaining this understanding will effect every move you make from this point on and will bring with it the necessity to share it.
These are changes I can handle. And these changes are what will help me make permanent changes to my eating habits.

Great read-especially for first time mothersReview Date: 2007-12-12
Loved but expected different storiesReview Date: 2005-07-18
I was slightly disappointed in the content of this book. I really was hoping and expecting that it would have more stories about giving birth. It says on the cover that the 101 stories inspire and warm the hearts of soon-to-be-mothers but I felt like the subjects were too general.
For example, the contents are 1. We're Pregnant, 2. Nine Months and Counting, 3 Expectant Fathers, 4. Challenges along the Way, 5. Special Delivery 6. Small Miracle 7. Memorable moments, 8. On Motherhood, 9. Expectant Wisdom.
I didn't find many birth stories - in fact, I don't think there was even one.
However, in spite of my need for positive birth stories, I still love the stories that they put in the book.

Before reading this book, I must admit I was not sure if we did the right thing to concieve a third child but now I know more than missing to cherish every moment of our pregnancy.
This book has moved every kind of feelings in us from happiness to excitement, to sadness at some times and made me thankful for this beautiful gift from God.
This is a must for every expectant parent.

Paula Silici's Nona's Garden stands as a fine example. I could smell the beef, garlic and tomatoes simmering in the kitchens of my childhood as I read of the life's lessions learned from her grandmother. I have more hope for the future after reading Beth Pollack's Planting Day,especially considering that such words of wisdom came from a 16-year-old. Good job, young lady! And A Bedside Story by Pat Stone reassured me that I'm not the only gardener who talks to plants.
No wonder the publisher has the name Health Communications. When the mind is calm, the body is better able to heal. This book is a fabulous choice for anyone feeling blue or for just anyone!
Warm & FuzzyReview Date: 2001-10-21
Among my personal favorites was Nona's Garden by Paul Silici. I could almost smell the delectably heavy garlic, beef and tomatoes slowly steaming in my grandmother's kitchen, and felt a tug on my heartstrings when she shared the story of her grandmother's lessions in life. Planting Day filled me with hope for the younger generation when I saw that sixteen-year-old Beth Pollack had written such an insightful essay. It was good to learn in Pat Stone's A Bedside Story that I'm not the only person who talks to their plants.
There's something for everyone in CS for the Gardener's Soul.

"We all have the healing power of unconditional love within us." -excerpt from the beginning of the book.
Each chapter of this book has a short but powerful story pertaining to a wide variety of subjects about life and spirituality. There are wONderFuL quotations relevant to the subject and each chapter ends with "The Truth is...", which includes a quotation, and then "Reflections" "Realizations" and "Affirmations"
I have had this book for a few years now, and I pick it up occassionally and then don't want to stop reading it. There is so much wisdom in this book. Universal Laws throughout.
Here are a few excerpts from the book:
"A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror." -Ken Keyes,Jr
"You can only see things in others that exist in yourself."
"How you feel about something or someone is based on your perceptions."
"Every cloud has a silver lining and finding it is one of the most reliable ways to turn an apparent problem into a blessing! True wisdom is the ability to see the equal benefit or blessing hidden in every challenge, situation, sickness, or crisis. The silver lining is always as bright as the cloud is dark."
Chapter 11: "Inspiration is the secret of Vitality" -"Are you full of life...or barely breathing?"
