Have you ever wanted to read a good romance with a little tragdey mixed in that will knock your socks off? Well, "Reach for Tomorrow " will by Lurlene McDaniel does just that. The main character in this book is Katie O'Roark. Katie is a college student with an athletic scholarship. She has recentally had a heart transplant.Which has changed her life dramatically.During her summers she attends the Jenny House. The Jenny House is a camp for kids with medical problems to go relax and meet people with the same problems. One summer Katie recieved a letter from The Jenny House. She was thrilled to know she was choosen to be a counselor. Along with some of her friend from the former years she has attened The Jenny House. Last year The Jenny House was burned dwom due to a fire. Katie was excited to know it was being rebuilt. Katie's ex-boyfreind, Josh Martel also is going to be a counselor. Being around Josh brings back so many memories and emothions that Katie just can't handle.

This book revels flashback and realistic detail. Some of the flashbacks that are mentioned are of when Katie was in the hospital and when her and Josh was still together. The realistic detail is amazing. For example, when Eric and Meg go for a canoe ride together the author gives details on everyhting surrounding then and what they do exactly. Also, the author uses a lot of humor in the book. Such as whe nthey have a tug-a-war challenge and the girls lose. They get pulled into a mudd puddle and Lacey says, " I've always wandered what i'd look like as a brunette.

This book is a really good book to read. When I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. It shows realationships and friendships. If I had'nt read this book and someone had just told me about it I would read it in a heartbeat. That says a lot because i'm not one to read that much. So therefore, this book is a great book for romance and tradgey.

Best book ever!

Ok.....i have read all of the One Last Wish books and this one by far is the greatest!! Katie and Josh's ending was fantastic...i think Lurlene McDaniel should write more of the OLW books about Katie and Josh's future together...and Lacey and Jeff and Meg and Morgan. The book does leave you at a loss with what happend to Meg and Morgan, Jeff and Lacey, Eric, and Chelsea..it would be great to find out what happens to eveyone. I loved all of the other OLW books too! I couldn't put any of these books down they were great. And Lurlene McDaniel should defiantly write more books about OLW and Jenny House!!!

I really like romance novels. The way Lurlene McDaniel explains the character's emotions is unbeliveable! My favorite book by Lurene McDaniel is "Reach for Tomorrow," the second in this McDaniel series. It is about a girl named Katie and she goes to a camp where sick kids go to have fun. Katie meets up with a bunch of friends including her ex-boyfriend,Josh. When they saw eachother, they freaked out. Then she found out that he has been in an accadent and they didn't know if he was going to live. She and all the campers are all worried. She goes down to the chapel and prays for him. A couple of weeks later they got married in the chapel. Katie's favorite camper,Sara, was supposed to be in the wedding but....If you want to know what happens, read "Reach for Tomarrow." I really like the book "Telling Christina Goodbye," also by Lurlene McDaniel.

in my opinion, Reach For Tomorrow is Lurlene McDaniel's best book.It was great how she put in Eric, Megan, Sarah, and Morgan from the other one last wish books. The only OWL character missing was Dani from Mourning Song. I hope Lurlene writes a sequel that describes what happens to Josh and katie now that they're married, if meg and morgan stay together, and what happens to the other characters. YOU GOTTA READ ABOUT THIS FABULOUS JENNY HOUSE REUNION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Complete, easy to follow guides for reducing stress

This book is wonderful for teaching people how to relax and cope with stress. It has practical exercises for learning the different techniques.
Workbook covers such topics as: body awareness, breathing, progressive relaxation, meditation, visualization, autogenics, self-hypnosis, refuting irrational ideas, thought stopping, worry control, goal and time
managment, assertiveness training, job stress management, nutrition, exercise and how to stay on track with a stress management program. I've had therapists tell me they use this book all the time in their practice. I'm currently using it as a guide for people in my Wellness Recovery Program. The exercises are easy to teach and practical to use.

Well written. A great how-to for beginners. Finally a self-help book that tells the reader "how" to do something rather than a diatribe of how wonderful the author is and why the information is important. Workbook is easy to follow. I'm very happy with it.

This book is a wonderful resource for any clinician. No matter the reason a patient is coming in for therapy, I eventually use this book with him/her. The book is worth it for the breathing chapter alone. I really like the layout of the book. You can read the book straight through or just go to the chapter that is of importance for your patient (time management, etc.).

Helpful for simple stress.

I didn't read this book myself, but purchased it for a friend who, due to a chronic medical condition caused solely by stress, needs to change not only his lifestyle but his thought process and self identity. He tells me this book opened his eyes to how stressful his life truly is, and found many of the suggestions and techniques helpful in the beginning process of identifying stressful behavior, and taking the first baby steps in changing that behavior. For him, however, the major changes may have to come through therapy, but for those for whom a relatively simple lifestyle change will bring improvement, this book appears to be the ticket.

Sure we're all stressed a little now and then, but when the stress REALLY starts to build up and becomes too much, consider this little helper. An oversized volume (making it much easier to read), this book contains not one, but MANY different ways of reducing your stress- that's why its called a workbook. And this is precisely what makes this book such a gem- there's virtually something in it for everyone. If you don't like one technique, no problem, just go to the next chapter and try another one until you find one that suits you.

A handy book that should help de-stress a lot of people, I give it 5 stars easy. Can also recommend The Sixty-Second Motivator for readers who have trouble getting motivated to do healthy things regularly- like practice relaxation techniques!

Excellent book. We are given true stories of individuals that escaped being seriously hurt or killed by criminals because they were armed. This book gives us information which the liberal press refuses to give. If the majority of people had this information, we would probably see more folks buying a firearm and learning to use it.

Most reports in the book are from 2000 to the middle of 2007. Some are a little older as the one where Kip was subdued by 4 unarmed students. One of the reports was from my area, I remember when it happened. The message is you do not have to sit and wait to be killed when you are in a gun free zone.

This is an amazing book about those who have survived and won the worst of fights. Also, It informs us of the need for media to report the truth. If you have ever had reservations about firearms or believed they are something evil this book should open your eyes about the redeeming qualities of firearm use by law abiding people. When a threat so great as that by the media and anti-gun groups is at a constant, this book alone should convince anyone why they should be armed and armed at all times. This is an amazing piece of work that has been long overdue. This should be a must read for all people who are concerned with there personal safety and what they need to do to secure it! If any one book slams gun control into it's place, this book is it!

I gave this to my best friend, who is pregnant with her first baby. I had been looking at other journals and this one looked more on the fun and cute side opposed to all serious. When I got it it was so nice, bright colors and the pages were high quality. The book has alot of fun questions in it and even some for the dad to be! Also has a format that would help someone still to it, sometimes journals can be hard to continue. Where there are questions and then space for the answers...and not questions that would involve pages and pages of answerws. Some of the questions may seem silly to fill in now, maybe a bit on the corny side, but these answers to these questions are going to be exactly what you are going to reread and remember for years to come!

And I ended up buying one for my second pregnancy. If you enjoy guided journals (where they ask tons of questions throughout the entire 9 months), you'll be pleased with this one.

Great Monthly Pregnancy Journal

Review Date: 2006-02-25
I wanted a "pregnancy" journal to document key events during my pregnancy and found exactly what I was looking for in Butterflies & Hiccups. Initially, I considered a "daily" journal but in reviewing some of the pregnancy journals online, I was impressed with Butterflies & Hiccups. It is a "monthly" journal, which really turned out to be perfect... daily would have been overkill, especially since there are many days that pass where there's really nothing to document. This journal has excellent preprinted questions as well a blank page for each month for documenting additional information, perhaps not covered by the preprinted questions. Each month, the journal covers topics such as changes/symptoms, doctor visits, and has a page for placing a photo to track pregnancy progress (and more). It goes up to nine months then continues on to the "Birth" with a checklist of what to pack in the hospital bag, preprinted birth questions, a photo page for picture with baby, a page for baby info (name, date/time of birth, height/length, etc). It also contains a section to document the Baby Shower. The journal contains a 'Baby Keepsake' pocket, perfect for holding ultrasound pictures. There's also an attached ribbon bookmarker so that you can go straight to the page where you left without having to flip through the journal... and it's spiral bound. Highly recommended PREGNANCY journal... this is NOT a BABY journal.

This is the third celiac book I have read since diagnosis and the best one so far. The authors do an excellent job of explaining what celiac is who gets it, and why it is difficult to get diagnosed. The information is presented clearly, in well-defined categories, and without resorting to jargon.

Symptoms are described in great detail, with other possible diagnoses given for each. Unlike other books which essentially tried to pin every symptom known to man to gluten, this book offers much more balanced information.

for those already diagnosed, there is much helpful information, including not only foods to avoid but much dispelling of myth about foods which are safe to eat despite common assumptions. The authors also discuss 'survival' strategies for coping with dietary limitations, what to do with celiac children, even the current state of celiac research.

This book is an excellent resource and I ezxpect I will return to it many times.

This book contains all you need to know about celiac disease. Dr. Peter Green's book is a great resource for those who want to learn more about the disease's symptoms, testing, diagnosis, and disease management. It also describes other diseases associated with CD. Although written by a doctor, the book is written in layman's terms. If you suspect you have celiac disease or are gluten intolerant, this is a valuable read.

This book is excellent if you want to understand your condition although I would prefer if it went into some more detail... it generallly touches upon all the key subjects a coeliac might want to address but again you might end up wanting to hear more.

I have tremendous respect for Peter Green, perhaps one day we could see an expanded version of this book.

Get this book first if you think you might be having a problem with gluten. I haven't read any other book that is better than this one. Easy to read, and gives all the information you are going to need to get diagnosed correctly, as many doctors don't understand how to diagnose celiac or gluten sensitivity. You can take this book with you to the doctor and avoid arguments- Dr. Green is a top doctor in his field at Columbia University Medical Center, so your doctor should give weight to what he says. If you are newly diagnosed, this book will also provide you with a good understanding of the process of the disease and how to manage it.

Truly a Great Book!!!

Thank you Dr. Green and Rory Jones for your dilligent efforts at improving the quality of life for every celiac patient!

Sensual Feasts for Lovers

"When making love, a couple creates rainbows, brilliant colors, cosmic vibrations, and the sweetest of nectars. While they dance to their erotic rhythm, lovers grow and change, transforming, melting together, embodying the timeless symphony of the natural world in all its awesome power." ~ pg. 102

The Love Diet is as fun to read as it is to put into practice. Whether you just want tips for flirting or want to enhance your sexual experience this book is a sensual feast. There are lots of secrets and techniques to enhance your relationship. Kissing, massage, aphrodisiac recipes, perfumes, bathing tips, color therapy, erogenous zones, feng shui, fantasies, 31 KamaSutra positions (no pictures just descriptions), couples therapy, recipes to banish toxic emotions and what to do after a breakup - all blend together to give you a complete picture of relationships.

The bath made with eggs seemed a little strange but the bath with milk is soothing. It also seems easier to buy incense than to make it at home. Making a homemade bubble bath may be fun but it also seems easier to buy some Kama Sutra bubble bath. You may also find LUSH items to be enticing since they are made with dreamy essential oils. LUSH Fever massage bar is highly recommended.

Things I did like included ideas on how to create a sexy bedroom, ideas for lingerie colors (to promote various moods) and the use of flowers in cooking. There is also a helpful list of flowers and their meanings if you are interested in sending your lover a meaningful bouquet. Since Mabel Iam is also a therapist she includes ideas for how you can have a better relationship (less stress, anger, fear, jealousy). She briefly touches on the idea of self-esteem and gives tips on how to live a less stressful life.

I would have given this book five stars but I felt uncomfortable with a few of the topics. In the chapter on "How-To-Talk Sexy" I felt that the author didn't really list any sensual words (things you could say to your lover in bed) and included a few words that seemed inappropriate. I can only recommend this book to married couples who are willing to overlook a few badly chosen items.

I've read my share of sex books but this one is very informative, gives great advises and covers many areas of relationships that are not covered in other books .
This book is a perfect gift to surprise the couple and to practice long sections of erotic and sensual love.
The love diet is a great guide, if you want to change your routine and spice up. It has different chapters one more erotic and more sensual than the other one.

Dr. Russell writes in a way that, to be consistent, one would have to become a 7th Day Adventist. He takes extinct Old Testament references regarding what Jews were supposed to eat and what they weren't supposed to eat, and acts as if they compose God's universal, timeless law. Poor exegesis. If he stuck to the scientific pros and cons of food I would have received him better (even though much of his data is controversial/speculative). There have to be better written books out there (I know Richard Foster does a much more thorough analysis of health and fasting).

If you want a straight forward book without a lot of the authors own "reasons why", you will be very happy. You will come away with the answers you were seeking.

I gave this book to my three year old grandson after talking to him about how to call 911 and reasons to do it. The book has a phone pad so 911 dialing can be practiced and memorized. The dialing is answered with the sound of sirens; it would be better if a voice said, "What is your emergency, where do you live and what is your name?." The siren is very loud. Overall tho, I think the book is helpful in giving examples of what conditions would require a call to 911. My grandson knows his name, his address and how to hold his hand under someone's nose to see if they are breathing. The book is sturdy and colorful and will help children learn when and when NOT to call.

I purchased this book for my 3 year old for Christmas and it was a great choice. After reading it twice he was able to grap the concept of what 911 was and when to use it. The only downside was when the book did come in the mail the batteries were dead. I had to go out and by new ones on christmas eve. It brought the book from a $7.95 purchase to $20.00, the batteries were $4 each and it takes 3 of them. I hope they last as long as they say they do. Battery issue aside it was one of the best book purchases I have made.

However, shortly after reading this book, one of my children in conjunction with another child actually called 911 unbeknownst to us until the police officer showed up at the door. Thankfully he was quite understanding, but I'm still not sure if this book covered the importance of only calling 911 when necessary. I would definitely recommend it, but might want to have an additional discussion with your child after reading the book that calling 911 is serious and not something fun to do!

We LOVE this book, we play out the little roles of each animal and along with it learn the parts of the body and the movements. We have a lot of fun with this and laugh every time we read it together.

I used this previously to teach body part recognition to a student with severe autism. He loved it! Now I use it with one and two year olds and it is there favorite, plus doing the actions with the book helps them work out the wiggles.

if you want to see your child's real personality come out, buy this book! I bought this book after we purchased "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Eric Carle, which our 32 mo. old son loves! Well, "head to toe" is now his favorite book. we call it his exercise book. we all do the movements together & my son cracks us up with the way he moves, especially when he wiggles his hips!!! - way too cute! it's a great book to read during the day or at bedtime, then we read him 2 other "quieter" books before bedtime to settle him down. my son can't read yet, but i find him looking at this book on his own & imitating the movements!! that is really cute. our son has become so animated when we read this book to him - it is really hilarious. our 20 mo. old twin girls also enjoy it, too! i'm thinking of buying a 2nd copy for grandma's house. i can't say enough good things about this book, except that it will be as entertaining for you as it is for your child!

The From Head to Toe Big Book by Eric Carle I ordered through Amazon.com arrived in record time. The Large colorful hard back book is beautiful and I am sure it will be enjoyed for years to come. We are replacing some very favorite books distroyed in Hurricane Katrina for a pre-school in Long Beach, Ms. I was so excited to send this on. We will be ordering many more books.

I bought this hoping would help my daughter and my family, but was very disappointed when something really happens, I can't find a way to deal with it. Take a easy example, my daughter has this eczema and I tried to find a easy way to help her at home, but all I could find from the book are some very strange medicines that I've never heard of before. I guess maybe it's strictly for people who are familiar with homeopathy, but not for me definately!

A friend sent us this book when we had our first child. I still refer to it today. You dont realize you need this book but you are sure glad that you have it. It's the best baby shower gift.

This has been the most consistently helpful book on my shelf. It features three authors: a medical doctor, a nutritionist/herbalist, and a homeopath.

Over the past several years I have found it spot on for troubleshooting potential illnesses, and supplementing my pediatrician's diagnosis with homeopathic and herbal remedies.

My friends call me when their kids are sick to find out more from 'the book'. I've purchased this for friends and family with new arrivals, and they've always appreciated.

My wife and I wish we would have had a book like this when our children were small. It has great reference information for diagnosing and treating common heath problems. We have bought addition copies to give to our kids.
