I started this program when my son was 3. He had concentration and attention issues. He is now reading at a 2.5 or second grade half-way through the year, level in 1st Grade! The key for him was the 'action' part. He would beg me to 'play' the game with him, not realizing he was being taught. Isn't that the point?

I love this flip chart! When my son was about two and a half I got this book. He loves it still and he is five now. This method makes it so fun and easy to help your kids learn the alphabet and sounds and puts them on the fast track to reading on their own. And now I feel confident in my abilities to help my kids with their education. I love it!

I have a 3 year old son that has already learned many of the letter names and sounds in the alphabet because of this program. It's so fun and interactive that he learns it easily and actually enjoys it too! It uses all of the senses: auditory, visual and kinesthetic. It's also very reasonably priced too!

This program is the most effective tool I've found in teaching the alphabet and its sounds. I've taught special ed for 14 years and this is by far the best program there is out there! It worked in just 3 days to teach my own son the entire alphabet and sounds. He's in kindergarten and reading at the top of his class and this program gave him his jump start!

It is AMAZING!!

This book is what it says, it is Amazing because of the results it produces; there is Action with every letter, and it is a great way to learn the Alphabet sounds in a fun way. Our son was only 8 months old when we introduced this book to him as part of his reading. By the time he was 10 months he knew the actions to some of the letters and now at 16 months can do most of the actions and some of the sounds. We love this book so much our 5 month old is now being introduced to it. This book is Amazing and I am glad to have something that allows our children to be active while learning and it is great for us too, it is just one more positive way to be involved in our son's lives. It is one of our favorite books, thank you for introducing this to us!!!

This workbook, which our AP Spanish teacher provided us, was extremely helpful in preparing for the 2008 AP Spanish exam. All the activities, including the narratives, dialogues, reading passages, speaking conversations, and speaking presentations, were very similar to those on the actual AP test. This workbook also has extensive reference material, such as commonly used verbs, idiomatic phrases, conversational phrases, grammar rules, that also help in preparing for the Spanish exam. If your teacher does not use this book as a supplement to the class like my teacher did, I would buy the answer key and the audio CDS seperately to obtain the maximum benefit from this book. If you do the majority of the activities in this book well, you will most likely earn a 4 or 5 on the actual exam!

This book has been fully updated and reflects the changes made to the 2007 AP Spanish Language exam. In this book, Jose Diaz gives you ample practice for each section of the new exam.
For the multiple choice section: The listening practice is comprehensive with numerous long and short audio selections. There are more than 40 reading sections to practice and perfect your reading comprehension skills. The questions reflect the new item types that will be part of the new exam.
For the free response section: There are several pages of fill-in practice for both fill-in sections: with root words and without. Several prompts are given for the email/letter test section (32 to be exact). There is also ample practice (17 total) for the new integrated skills essay, where students read 2 articles and listen to an audio source. For the speaking sections, there are 20 practice sections for the new directed dialogue/phone conversation test items and 20 for the new simulated in-class presentation--here students must read an article and listen to an audio source combining the two in their 'in-class presentation' of 2 minutes.
This book is really all you need to be well-prepared for the AP Spanish exam starting in May 2007.

What are the drawbacks to this book? Unless you buy the Audio CD's, sold separately and from the publisher, you can't really practice the audio sections. Without the teacher's guide, also sold separately and from the publisher, you won't know if your answers are correct for the multiple choice and fill-in sections. If you're not in a classroom setting, you won't know if the essay or short letter you have written or if your dialogue and in-class presentation are on track for the score you want. The latter is true of any other test prep book on the market.

All in all, I would say that buying this program is well worth the money; especially since this is one of the few test prep books that has actually been changed to reflect the new 2007 AP Spanish exam.

Excellent book. No answer key.

This book was one of those ones that you just don't put down because you are so eager to see what happens next. I hate getting taken advantage of by retail sellers and service providers, so this book helped me understand their MOs and figure out how to get help from them to get satisfaction. Can't go wrong here - I'm loading up for Christmas presents.

Do you feel cheated when it comes to customer service? If you do, then you might enjoy this book about getting complete satisfaction when dealing with business. Whether it's a replacement for a defective product; a complimentary product or service; or a complete refund, this guide explains what to do for maximum customer benefit.

The majority of businesses are ethical and provide good products and services, but there is always going to be the occasional exception. When things don't go the way they should, you need to take prompt action to get the situation remedied. This book emphasizes the importance of ASKING for what is due to you, as a customer. Businesses want customers to be happy, but they are not going to come to you when things don't work out. You must take the initiative and explain your dissatisfaction to the business. You will never get anywhere if you don't begin by asking.

Besides the emphasis on asking, this book is loaded with examples of customer service mishaps, defective product encounters, and sloppy service experiences. In each instance, the book explains what was done to correct the problem and what results were achieved. In most every case, the business agreed to correct the problem in some way- either by replacing the product, offering a discount on a future visit, or giving a full refund.

Most of what you read in this book is common sense and unless you don't have any skill dealing with people and customer service reps specifically, you will likely find only a small amount of value in this book. I found it to be ok, but nothing special since I already have gotten into the habit of speaking up with things go wrong.

This book is a good motivational tool, if nothing else. The first step to achieving customer satisfaction is to ask for it. If you don't do this, you will never get what you want. And this book does a good job in the way it emphasizes the importance of asking. Don't settle for bad products or services. If you don't like what you got, ask the company to make it better. You'll be surprised how quickly they respond.

This book gave me some fun, useful tips on how to assert myself as a consumer in an often treacherous marketplace. It helped me to realize that I have rights as a consumer to get what I am paying for. The author also emphasizes that businesses like to please customers, and will often go to great lengths to do so. I will no longer feel uncomfortable about asking for the best price or best interest rate or best whatever. This book gave me the tools to feel confident and to deal with businesses nicely so that both me and the salesperson walk away feeling good (and I save money!). This book will be on my Christmas gift-giving list. I know my mom will love it.

This book leaves nothing unchallenged. Barbara does NOT take No for an answer. She probes and questions till businesses are worn down and give her what she wants. She's not intimidated by their usual tactics -- "It's not company policy," "No one has ever asked before--" yadda, yadda. She's daring and audacious and shows us how we can ask too, without changing or going through a special program. Just by reading the book, you get empowered and start Asking, not being cowed and intimidated. The bullets on the cover don't do the book justice. It's a lot more than getting deals, but an empowerment and a way to not feel helpless in the marketplace. Plus, the book is such fun and easy to read.

About two years ago my `spine popper' (chiropractor) taught me some new exercises for my back then got me to buy another book by this author to keep me doing them properly. This past winter I decided to try tri-athlon. I wanted to get stronger but not real bulky. I thought I'd try this new book because you could decide if you wanted to use weights with the exercises or not.

I like the progressions, photos and instructions and yes - some of the harder exercises are REALLY hard! I showed it to my training group and some of the others wanted it too. We're all fans of this core stuff now - we really seem to notice the biggest gains in the swim. I can go harder for longer distances thanks to an incredibly strong midsection. And I agree with AM from La Crosse - the six pack is pretty sweet.

I don't often rave about stuff but this book is pretty cool. I had the opportunity to go to the Athens games last year (rowing). I saw athletes from everywhere dong all this crazy ball and buozu (?) training. When I got home I went looking for a book that had that kind of focus. This is the book I picked and its been amazing about the increase in power I get now. We're just back on the water and I've never felt stronger at the start of the season. If you want a cutting edge source of core training, I'd say this is the book to get.

I bought this book because I like it when our family has some sort of Catholic faith item to discuss at dinner. We were using 365 days of Saints and talking about the saint for that day, but this book is so well organized that I can look up new facts and traditions to bring to our life. I have two older children and two babies, so this book is great for all. I'm just a mom, so probably won't do the little book projects etc, but glad to have them for a reference. I like the organization by season and liturgical year and that there is something for every month.

The book also is divided into great sections based on the Saints, Sacraments, Feast Days and Holy Days. They also break the book down into months of the year to develope awareness of the events and signifigance of each month. The reading materials and activities are great!

Now and then, you have to invest in a book that pays big dividends in time and creative energy for you, as a teacher.
Karen Robbins has given us just such a book -- generously sharing nearly a hundred pages of bulletin board ideas for all the months of the year, including summer! We know that learning takes place best when we get children involved with all their senses -- what I especially like about this book is the "cooperative" in the title, because from now on bulletin boards will not be a teacher chore, but a child's delight! Thank You for this guide for those of us who are less artistically inclined!

A book obviously written by a teacher. Ideas are clear for students to understand and assemble. One page directions with materials easy to find and prepare. Workable plans for huge displays that engage all students. Projects celebrate creativity at all abilities and provide students with art lessons that enhance seasonal themes. Extremely useful for the classroom teacher with artistic limits, that wants to introduce students to a variety of art media.

I LOVE this book! I used it all last year and my colleagues were always exclaiming over our finished projects. The ideas matched a lot of my theme units. And each page comes with a great illustration for those of us who are visual learners. The best part is that the teacher has a very small role in the making of classroom displays (other than pinning student's creations to the wall). The students have complete artistic control!

As an elementary teacher, I believed that bulletin boards should be made by my students and not me! I wrote Big Bulletin Boards with this concept in mind. Most of the boards within my book have been successfully constructed by students. Children will be introduced to 23 different forms of art mediums; while developing creativity and building self esteem. The boards are quick, easy, fun and creative for both boys and girls. What a wonderful way to teach cooperative learning! Big Bulletin Boards: A Cooperative Approach was previously published by Prentice-Hall, Inc. selling over 16,000 copies. I revised the book and released the Second Edition in 2001 under Hide and Seek Press. I hope you have fun making BIG bulletin boards with your students! I sure did and they became the "talk of the school."! *Note: This is a great book especially for beginning teachers, preschool/elementary teachers or librarians.

As a healthcare professional and inventor of a product that helps people get eye drops into their eyes without missing, called ezdrops. I have both versions of Blackberry Made Simple. The e-version and the hard copy. My hard copy of Blackberry Made Simple and my Blackberry 8700c has saved me hundreds of man hours by not having to wait to be at a computer for my e mails and text messages. Blackberry Made Simple has proven to be my "bible" and I keep in with me in my brief case for the times that I travel as well as the need to find short cuts on my Blackberry 8700c. quickly. I was looking for a book for my 8yr old son because he started asking questions about the female anatomy, why girls sit down to use the bathroom and how babies come from 2 people. This book was great....no graphic pictures. The pictures of the boy and girl anatomy were very basic....just enough detail for him to process. It did not go into anything he wasn't ready to hear. The part about intercourse was very short and to the point. Just enough to explain and left open for whatever question about details your child wants to hear. I would highly recommend this book for those children(boys and girls)that are asking about sex and differences of private parts. Very well written and easy to read to your child. Perfect for his age.

Very simple, matter of fact, and the language used is easy for children to understand. There are no graphic pictures of adults having sex; it just shows a man and woman together under a blanket in bed. No adult body parts are seen although the couple appear to be naked. This book is a good starting point for the whole discussion of this topic.

This is my favorite book on the subject for ages 10 and up. This book gave just the right amount of details, so that the kids would know exactly what intercourse entails. However, it did not go into other issues, e.g. alternative lifestyles. Our family is Catholic, and I didn't wanted a book that would introduce ideas contrary to our beliefs for my children at the elementary school level.

I did much research when looking into purchasing a facts of life book for my 9 year old son. Instead of looking at the positive reviews, like I usually do, I looked to the negative reviews. I found that I got more out of the negative reviews of similar books where parents tended to give their whole opinion rather than just a quick "I liked the book end of story". As soon as I received this book in the mail my son told me thank you and gave me a heartfelt hug. The book arrived promptly. After reading the book in the first day he had no questions. I read the book as well, and I could see why he had no questions. The book comes from a nurse point of view that is teaching a class. It showed the necessary graphics for the target age range and did not go overboard in its wording. I highly recommend this book for parents with curious children.

Madeline: This is a helpful book for young kids to learn about money. They can learn how to save some, spend some and give some to charity. My favorite part of the book was when Max talked about a lemonade stand. I want to have a lemonade stand and a snack stand at our next neighborhood garage sale. I also got some ideas about how to earn extra money around the house. It made me think about other ways to get money, like selling toys or books that we don't use anymore. I liked the whole book; it was fun to read and the drawings are good too.

Sophia: My favorite part of the book is when they play money games at school. "Can I Have Some Money?" by Candi Sparks is a good book that tells about money. I like money! This book made me want to shop! But first you have to get money by selling stuff or doing chores. I would like to have a fruit punch stand. Max is funny. The pictures are good too.

As parent coordinator of P.S. 153 in the Bronx, N.Y., I am very impressed with this book. I was pleased to have an opportunity to meet Ms. Sparks at my school earlier this summer. I recommend to other coordinator's citywide to tap into this resource! I look foward to Ms Sparks revisiting my school in the fall to present this material to my students, parents and staff. This subject matter is vital in all of our communities! This is a author who wants to partner with our kids and our schools.

This type of information is extremely important, especially since they don't teach you about it in School, I was never educated about credits cards and how to manage my finances, its something you have to learn on your own, and sometimes learn the hard way. I messed up my credit at a very young age and it took me years to make it better, not only that, but you are denied so many opportunities, i.e. being able to buy a car or house, if you don't have good credit. Then you also have to pay higher rates for everything. Candi goes into much more than just credit and this book is so important because it teaches young kids the value of money, when all they perceive is the glamour of money in media and entertainment. Be disciplined about dollars and it will pay off. The way in which she presents the information makes it engaging and exciting for young kids to learn. This is a must read for EVERY person's child and is guaranteed to improve your quality of life from the basic financial principles you learn. I wish I read this as a kid, I would have gotten to where I am today, ten years earlier! I bought 2 copies for my nieces.
