Dentistry Books

This is the book that helped make that giant leap of faith- braces! Without it, I'd probably still be suffering with embarrassment everywhere I go, but after reading this, I had the courage to ask my parents, get them on and I've never been happier. It doesn't say how great they are and that you should get them, the book simply states the facts and tells you how to live with them if you decide to go through with it.. Anyone thinking about braces need to read this. It will help make up your mind one way or the other.

As a CPA representing scores of dentists and dental practices we highly recommend this book/manual. This book allows you to quickly and clearly implement proceedures needed in a dental practice. You can implement one or hundreds of proceedures.

This book will pay for itself within weeks.

Great illustrations with clear labels, point-form summaries. Amazing review for exams/ boards. Very comprehensive and very readable. Some designs look a little esoteric but still very useful. Wish I had it when I was in dental school.

Dr.s Gutmann and Harrison really did a stellar job in gathering the information in this NOVEL for the Endodontist. I just wish there was another printing in the works. Perhaps I will talk with Dr. Gutmann and see if there are any future plans, perhaps to include Dr.'s Rubenstein and Kim. Kudos to you both for a Surgical BIBLE well done! JJ

Ecellent over all boo

Recommended in "A Basic List of Recommended Books and Journals for Support of Clinical Dentistry in a Nondental Library" in Bulletin Of the Medical Library Association, July 1997. Hope to see a new edition.

The title of your book is very good as TMJ does have indeed many many faces. Unfortunately the medical and dental communities ingeneral tend to treat TMJ in the traditional dogmas of the past forty years or more. I am a dentist who treats TMJ problems with functonal jaw orthopedics and when done correctly this technigue "unmasks" TMJ as the true culprit as the causitive factor of most all chronic headaches, neck aches and other associated head and neck pain problems. The most common ailment associated with TMJ is the chronic headache including migraine. Thousands of cases have been resolved using functional jaw orthopedics.

If you (or a loved one or a patient) have TMJ (TemporoMandibular Joint) problems (pain, clicking, and/or decreased opening of your mouth), this book will walk you through the steps to arrive at a diagnosis. While not written for the layperson, most people with a strong medical background (and possibly a medical dictionary) will have no problem understanding this book.

Detailed instructions and plenty of pictures set this book apart from other TMJ disorder manuals. Not much on treatment, but this book will help you arrive at a correct diagnosis and a way to objectively track treatment with diagrams.

If you want detailed treatment plans, look elsewhere. But before treatment can begin, the exact nature of the problem should be understood, and this is the book to help you do just that.

Price is high, so be on the look out for a used copy or a good sale.

This book in may opinion is the best for comprehending the anatomy as well as the classification of the different disorders in the TMJ area and the surgery technique, is a petty that is so difficult to find it. I had the opportunity to use it in my resident years and now i am trying hard to get it for myself. Conclusion for me is the bible in the TMJ disorder

My 2 1/2 year old is nuts for this book!! We got it when she was going to be going to the dentist. As it turned out, she had two very small cavities. She was very prepared for what the dentist would do (from another book) and knew what had happened to cause the cavities from this book!! She can tell you all about the enamel, the dentine, what bacteria does with the sugar you eat and how it hurts your teeth. It's amazing how much she loves this book, she just came in and saw it and is now asking me to read it again!! She loves it!! I am going to check out more in this series.
