I have read and reread Mark Konlee's book and have only good things to say about it. It inspires hope and encourages those challanged by AIDS and Chronic Fatigue to take control of their lives. He gives tips on choosing the appropriate physician, one with an interest in the immune system, rather than those physicians who view AIDS solely from a "hit it and hit it hard" point of view. As a Registered Nurse I view this book as very impowering and long needed. I highly recommend it not only to those persons who fail to respond to drug cocktails, but also those who do respond. Immune restoration is vital in both instances.

This review is for the book: Living Heart Diet
by Dr. William Debakey, et al.

This is an excellent book for those who have had heart problems and for those who do not want to develop heart problems. Poor diet (high fat/cholesterol) is one of the main risk factors for heart disease -- excess cholesterol lays a foundation of plaque in your arteries that can eventually cause heart attacks and/or necessitate heart surgery. This book was developed to help us all eat right and help avoide disease. This book contains recipes, education about heart disease, and nutrition and sodium tables for most of the foods you eat. This is an excellent resource! Use it in good health!

Most complete book on the subject.

Nightshade Free Pain Free is well researched and well written. It gives a comprehensive and accurate description of the nightshade plants and their effect on human health. This book gives health conscious people valuable information that is not widely known. I have been diagnosed with an arthritic condition - ankylosing spondylitis - and after reading the book, I now intend to completely avoid the nightshade plants. If you are experiencing pain, it would be worthwhile to read this book and then avoid the nightshades.

In this world of increasingly complex health care issues, we are all
looking for answers, something that will finally help us feel better. In
Michael Fowler's new book NIGHTSHADE FREE, PAIN FREE a wealth of
information has been made available that points to a menacing problem
many people may be having with the consumption of nightshade foods. The
author goes through an in-depth and most informative discussion of the
history of nightshades that is both fascinating and a warning of the
problems that were to come from their increasing consumption by humans.
He covers in a very accessible and often even humorous way the
physiological effects that nightshades have upon us. The fact that the
neurotoxin solanime is not destroyed by cooking or by the human
digestive system itself should be of concern to all who consume a
nightshade food of any kind. Mr. Fowler's research is comprehensive and
easily followed by the reader. Last, but not least, is the relief I
myself have found in the elimination of nightshade vegetables from my
diet. I have suffered from migraine headaches, arthritis, and digestive
disorders for years and I am finally beginning to feel better. I
recommend the information in this book to anyone suffering as I have
been. I can see the benefits for myself and I believe the book is a real
gift to so many of us who are suffering needlessly.

Changing habits

Authored by a food writer and teacher, Helen Cassidy Page, a cardiovascular specialist, John Speer Schroeder, M.D., and a registered dietician, Tara Coghlin Dickson, M.S., R.D., this book offers a simple health plan - keep saturated fat to 25 grams per day and all fat to 75 or less.

The first half of the book describes the plan, the reasoning behind it and offers quizzes and tables so the reader can see how their present habits compare with the ideal in terms of eating and exercise, and compare different prepared and raw foods for nutrient value.

The system depends on what the authors call "Fat Tracking," becoming aware of fats and saturated fats in all the foods we eat. Numerous lists offer alternatives to high-fat foods (i.e., whole grain bread instead of croissant, Canadian bacon instead of regular, angelfood cake instead of donut. They explain the vital differences between oils and how to read labels in supermarkets, choose cuts of meat, find high-fiber foods.

The second half consists of recipes from breakfast through dessert, each introduced with tips for preparation, variations and storage and including, of course, nutrition information. Recipes include unusual things like Eggplant Caviar, Melon and Cucumber Soup, Corn and Polenta Souffle With Cilantro Cream and fat-reduced favorites like Lasagne, various pizzas, Pork Roast With Prunes and variations on traditional themes like Grilled Halibut with Tomato Salsa, London Broil Teriyaki and Walnut Brownies, made with apple sauce and cocoa.

The authors advise gradual transitions rather than a radical makeover and the recipes are attractive, easy and inspirational. An excellent and informative program for good, healthy eating.

Head and shoulders over most guides to healthy eating

The recipes in this book are well above average and are not generally difficult to prepare. California style - fruit juices, mostly citrus, are frequently used in marinades, salad dressings, and dips - adds a good deal to many of the recipes. My husband and I enjoyed this so much we have frequently given it as a gift.

I worked on the production of this book. It had already been written when it came to me. Its presentation is very straightforward. Reading the highlighted clinical notes gives a good overview. The illustrations say a 1000 words, and the photos are of attractive older people who are aging successfully. Jackie Bougie and Paige Morgenthal really care about aging people. Jackie was delighted to learn that I am a senior citizen. These young women will continue to make aging easier.

As someone who has studied and read a great deal on health issues, healing modalities and the integration of the human being as a whole I am very pleased to recommend this book. The book is a great tool to help anyone recognize the oneness of our nature, the power of awareness, and the potential within ourselves for well being and health.

Embodiment practices are a great tool to empower us and lead us to the recognition of our true nature.

I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone interested in personal growth, wellbeing and a conscious life in all levels.
