The Coumadin® (Warfarin) Help Book : Anticoagulation Therapy to Prevent and Manage Strokes, Heart Attacks, and Other Vascular Conditions was an extremely easy read, both for the glossary of terms used in the book, and for the author's approach to the subject. Mrs. Diana Schneider, Ph.D., who wrote the book after her own experiences with Coumadin®, brings an interesting perspective to her book; one which, in my opinion, is more beneficial than just reading a text in the traditional sense. Although I have no personal experience with the medication, and have very little medical knowledge, in the book, every term was explained so fully and carefully, as if the reader was as inexperienced as myself. However, the book was not "watered down" by these definitions, and I would say that Mrs. Schneider straddled the line between making the book accessible and making it informative, beautifully. Although I think the book is wonderful, and would recommend it to many of my friends, and family especially, the one problem that I found is in regards to the slight bias that I picked up when reading. It is within all the rights to have an agenda for the process of writing a book, but it was just a feeling and these types of manuals can influence many of its readers without consciously doing so. I do hope to read more of Mrs. Schneider's works, and overall, I enjoyed this book.

This is the new edition of a valuable ID resource book that I find quite useful for day to day practice. It contains concise but useful review of ID topics.The references are quite up to date. Ideal for the busy ID fellow and for preparation of examinations.

The second edition of Amy L. Sutton's DERMATOLOGICAL DISORDERS SOURCEBOOK is filled with basic consumer guidelines and health facts for all kinds of conditions affecting not just skin but nails and hair. From birthmarks and skin injuries to hair loss and disorders, chapters provide all the basics on how to maintain healthy skin and hair and how to handle symptoms and aging effects.

This book quality shows in the variety of recipes for varing ailments though not limited to HIV infection. Unfortunately, it is not geared for island residents/living as the ingredients are not easily accessible here.

This book gives you the breakdown of everything you read in the news headlines regarding the whats and whys of vitamins and minerals and how they work together in your body to either help or hurt you. I never felt preached to by some 'doc' type. Written with the layman in mind. Very informative... So much so you may change the way you eat after this read!

Harvard professor Arthur Kleinman has prepared and presented an excellent collection of case studies and analysis on the topic of suffering and dealing with chronic pain. This book is perfect for a physician who is trying to understand his patients or a patient who is trying to deal with a life of pain. Either way the book is a fascinating study of how to live life.

This is an incredibly thorough, yet succinct overview of the field of vision and eye health. The book is informative, well written, and an interesting read. It will be of great interest to everyone who would like to find out more about the eye and eye health. I personally recommend it to everyone who would like to take good care of his/her eyes.

This book is an excellent secondary resource. Todd Savitt has compiled information usuing primary resources that allows the reader to understand the practical elements of health care for African Americans as well as poor whites during the antebellum time period.

After reading this book, I decided that it was my final choice to become a vegetarian. This offered lots of helpful information and tips for meals and such. I suggest this book.

This book has been very helpful and informative. I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol and needed to find out how to deal with this problem. The book points out all the methods and lifestyle changes that are needed to deal with this problem. I would recommend it to anyone who has been diagnosed with high cholesterol.
