When I read "Hair In the Air" aloud to my third-grade class for the first time, we were all laughing so hard I could barely read! I passed it around to some of my co-workers to read to their classes, and everyone agreed it was one of the funniest things we had ever read.

With all the hype and rubbish available on the Internet, it is sometimes more sensible to obtain authorative information from reputable sources. For those who are at any stage of the balding process, the Hair Replacement Revolution is an indispensable guide to navigating what options are available. The title may be a bit misleading since the book covers everything from the psychology of hair loss to the latest advancements in pharmaceuticals. Written by reputable authors, I fully recommend this book.

About the Book :
India is a land of hairstyles. In no other country, has so much imagination, thought and artistic genius bent lent to devising hairstyles as in India. This is apparent from the rich and kaleidoscopic variety of coiffures, delineated in the whole range of early Indian plastic art. The present book is a study of the different varieties of hairstyles, as reflected in the early Indian art. The author has examined the sculptures of Barhut, Sanchi, Amaravati, Gandhara, Nagarjunakonda and Mathura and also the murals of Ajanta, which impeccably portray the varieties of hairstyles known to their periods. The coverage, from the second century B.C. to the sixth-seventh centuries A.D., records all trends and tendencies in fashion and styles.

About the Author :
Prof. Dr. K.Krishna Murthy, M.A., Ph.D., D.Litt., F.R.A.S. (London), MRAI (London, MRAA (London), a distinguished archaeologist and a celebrated at historian was born on 21-6-1930 at Anatapur in Andhra Pradesh. After schooling in Municipal High School at Kurnool and collegiate education in Government Arts College, Anatapur, he took his B.A. (Hons) and M.A. from Andhra University, Waltair. A double doctor, he was awarded Ph.D. and D.Litt (Doctor of Letters) by the Nagpur University for his outstanding treatises in the field of archaeology. In recognition of his scholarly eminence, he was elected in 1972 a fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (FRAS) and a member of M.R.A.I and MRAA (London) in 1985 and member of the World Archaeology Congress, South East Asia in 1992, an honour only few Indians enjoy.
He was associated with the Archaeological Survey of India for 34 years and served it with distinction, dignity and integrity in various capacities to become Superintending Archaeologist. He is also a former professor of History and Indian Culture in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prashanthinilayam and its first Dean Faculty of Arts for some time. A prolific writer, he has authored about thirty books and hundreds of research papers in various national and international journals of repute. His specialisation in Buddhism resulting in the publication of authentic works on art-history, archaeology, Buddhist iconography, art, architecture, religion, theology, philosophy and literature has earned him celebrity. His deputation to Sri Lanka on Indo-Sri Lanka Cultural Exchange Agreement in 1978, enriched his longing to undertake Buddhist studies in greater depth.

This is one of the funniest books I've ever read (and I haven't been living in a cave for the last 20 years either). He's got an excellent way of milking every drop of meaning out of words and coming up with double-entendres that just crack me up.

His writing style is somewhere between Dave Barry and Andy Rooney - really innocent approach with some great punches.

It's a religious book, but very light and humorous. Reminds me of the funny articles that Readers' Digest publishes.

The cover of this award-winning anthology features Keith Carter's haunting photo "Atlas Moth."

Call me biased (I'm a graduate of Columbia College's MFA program), but inside are some writers to watch. Todd H. Dills, editor of The 2nd Hand, is here, along with Shelli Johnson, a recent winner of a Writer's Digest International Self-Published Book Award. Carla McCarty's "McDono's" is a warm, hilarious story that should become an oft-reprinted classic. James R. Hein's novel excerpt takes you on the emotional laughter-tears-laughter ride of a family in which the mother is manic-depressive -- when he finishes the novel, I expect it to rival Confederacy of Dunces.

Other highlights include: fiction by Devon Polderman, Josephina Gasca, Lila Nagarajan, Deb Lewis, Julia Borcherts, Marya Patrice Smith, Erika Mikkalo, Felicia Swanson, Jeff Jacobson, and Audrey Qween Roy-Wicks, with creative nonfiction by Michael Curtin, Mark Child, John Lowery, Germaina Solorzano, and many others.

The anthology overall is vibrant and gutsy, with frank explorations of family, race, sex, class, mental illness, theft, altered states -- you name it. It will make you laugh at some points and bite your tongue in others, upset you, gross you out, disturb and challenge you in one-hundred and twelve ways -- but it WON'T put you to sleep.

I first heard about the Armenian Genocide as a twelve-year old at Ramona Elementary School in Hollywood, CA when Mr. Chitjian came to our school on or about April 24, to talk about his experiences during the Genocide. Needless to say, his story made a huge impact on me, especially since, although I had been born in Armenia, I knew nothing of the Genocide because my parents had chosen to shield me from the painful history of the Armenian people. To this day, 24 years later, I still recall some of the episodes he describes in the book in minute detail. This is a very difficult book to read, on many levels. It is difficult to read of the Turkish atrocities. The reader can feel Mr. Chitjian's pain and suffering coming through the words. I found myself in tears on many occasions. The book is somewhat laborious and drawn out in the beginning, but once you get through the first 60 pages, where he describes their daily life and routine, and what life in Perri was like, then his heart-wrenching story takes hold of his reader and doesn't let go until the last few pages. This is a true testament to the iron will of humans to survive even in the most trecherous conditions, in the bleakest of times. I think this should be assigned to all high school students, much like The Diary of Anne Frank.
