Like a support group, only BETTER!Review Date: 2008-02-12
Ruth Peltason took those many and varied threads and wove them lovingly into this book. I Am Not My Breast Cancer is not a medical resource, it is a practical resource. It is not the story of one woman's breast cancer, it is the distillation of hundreds of women's experiences with breast cancer--young women, women in midlife, older women, women with early stage disease and women with metastatic disease. Ms. Peltason, herself a two time breast cancer survivor, treats each woman's experience with dignity and respect.
Any woman touched by breast cancer will find herself in the pages of this book, and it will help those around her understand a little better what she may be going through. Cancer centers and doctors' offices should be sure this volume is added to their libraries--it fills a void and meets a need like no other book out there. As a breast cancer survivor, I say, "Thank you, Ms. Peltason, for writing I Am Not My Breast Cancer!"
Give this to anyone affected by breast cancer.Review Date: 2008-02-10
This book did an incredible job answering all three questions. The distillation of wisdom, anger, hope and total honesty of the 800 women involved in the creation of this book is amazing. The brief, but succinct comments, collected on such a diverse arrangements of topics will not only provide helpful paths for those undergoing treatment, but also for ANY family member, friend or co-worker sincerely interested in understanding and supporting the individual battling the disease of breast cancer.
This book should be in every public and health science library as it will do for the soul and spirit what other books cannot.
These ladies really get it!Review Date: 2008-02-10

I used Minoxidil for about a year but had to stop it because I became allergic to it.
Pain Relief for PenniesReview Date: 2008-07-01
The problem with over-the-counter NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) like aspirin, Naproxen (Aleve) and Ibuprofen (Advil) is that with regular use, they often cause gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcerations, and/or perforations (with or without pain). If you were able to apply the above NSAIDs topically, you could totally avoid that problem ... which is exactly what I did when I made the pain-relief recipes in this book ... for just pennies!!!
I often tell my clients that whethere it's their nutrition or diet, "one size does not fit all." The same holds true for pain relief. What's incredibly cool about this book is that there are a *number* of approaches/solutions/recipes that can be tried. So if one recipe doesn't work to your liking, either try a different one or try adjusting the ingredient amounts. As an example, I found I got better (faster) pain relief when I increased the amount of Naproxen in the recipe.
Analgesic (pain relief) formulas are only one part of what is covered in the book. There are also some excellent recipes for men (and WOMEN!) suffering from hair loss, cold sores, and genital herpes.
The book is only about 38 pages long, but don't let that fool you. At 30 bucks, it's a steal!!!
When you're making pain relief formulas for yourself, please consider making extra and passing it out to friends and family who suffer from chronic pain. I can think of no greater gift or act of humanity. And if you find value in this book, consider supporting the site and man responsible for writing the book ... Stephen Martin and [...]

It is very much fun and the most enjoyableReview Date: 2004-03-25
The story is fun with a great imagination and the illustration are so colorful and lovely. If I am to busy to sit down and read it to her, she just goes thru the pages and enjoys the pictures and the details in them.
She told me that she wanted to keep this book for her own children. I think I will get a new copy since this one shows that it was read and enjoyed many times.

Wonderful Picture Book about a Girl with Very Long HairReview Date: 1998-10-24
The story describes in rhyme how Toby, who wants to grow the longest hair in the world, deals with very real problems encountered by someone with long hair in a world of short haired people.
My favorite part of the book is the wonderful illustrations, which were made out of fimo and then photographed. The illustrations are masterpieces of art, capturing nuances of texture, patterns, and light, in a simple, but elegant style.

An Unforgettable StoryReview Date: 2004-09-26
The story begins with Lee Parks, a young executive who is living in Korea and traveling on a city bus to a new job. Along the way he spies a basket placed in the middle of the road and convinces an indifferent bus driver to stop so he can retrieve it. Lee is aware that in this poverty stricken country that girl babies are often left to die in this manner and he is not surprised when he finds a small baby inside. Unsure of what to do with his newly acquired cargo he is told by another passenger about a hospital that might take the baby. With a strong sense of guilt Lee leaves the child at the hospital and this begins the tortured life of the half-breed girl, Soo-Jin.
The girl has two strikes against her from the beginning, first she is an orphan and second she is half Korean and half Japanese. With these two obstacles weighing around her neck the girl learns the meaning of pain, hunger and suffering early on in her life. But it seems that no matter how many obstacles are placed in the young child's path she always finds a way to endure. Soo-Jin is thrust into the evil world of Yi Shoo, an evil nanny at the orphanage she is placed in. The child is subject to inhuman treatment and her only salvation is Uni Choi, the daughter of a kind wealthy man, Han Choi who purchases the orphanage. The trials and tribulations of this small forgotten angel create an unforgettable story of hope and dismay. The courage of this girl is spellbinding as she fights to survive in the hell she is forced to live in clinging to the hope that one day she will be adopted by an American with Yellow hair and Blue eyes.
G.L. Mason is one of those unique storytellers that are able to invade the imagination and hearts of their readers. Mason's talents have no boundaries and I was given a rare entrance into the mind of a brilliant writer. I recommend that everyone take the opportunity to read this treasure and allow themselves to delve into the bittersweet emotions that this story invokes.
Thank you, Mason, for sharing with me your unique gifts in an unforgettable story that has truly touched my heart. I look forward to reading many more of your creative novels.

If you only buy one book, make it this one!Review Date: 2002-02-26
For beginners, there are more recipes than you could hope for - and not just variations of a few basic recipes. He truly delivers with a rich collection of beauty, hair and skin care recipes.
For those a little more daring, the book provides a nice balance of background and theory. I feel confident experimenting with my own recipes now, and can knowledgably create the product I intend. (As opposed to wasting money on lots of surprises and/or disappointments.)
I only wish I'd found this book before the last half dozen or so books I purchased on natural cosmetics and essential oils.
