Karen O'Connor has written over 50 books, including Squeeze The Moment and Help Lord! I'm Having A Senior Moment, both of which focus on aspects of aging. Having been born in 1938, she is living what she advocates to other senior moment individuals, and I happen to be one of them, edging towards the 62 mark this year.

Mrs. O'Connor has divided this book into seven sections of Faith, Family, Friends, Food, Fitness, Finances, and Fun. Each of these subjects she supports with six clarifying explanations, ending with how to put them into perspective with grace, gratitude, and grit. She identifies the above as better ways to face the aging process as God intended, rather than as a grimalkin, grouch, or greenhorn (these three are my take). Obviously, the author has experienced much in her 69 years to grant her the wisdom and wit she pens in her gracious understanding of growing older.

Such subtopics as "Row, Row, Row Your Own Boat," "Oxygen for the Soul," "Just Desserts," "Stay-at-Home Vacations," "Daffodilly," and "The Good New Days," should give readers over 50 an avid interest in opening this book and perusing it for a deeper understanding of where they are as senior citizens and where they hope to be.

this is a great history of the use of photography with and thru science.

This book is like eye candy for anyone interested in agates, geology, lapidary and jewelry making. I purchased a copy directly from the author off ebay, and he was even kind enough to sign it. If you can afford it, invest in the hardcover...I have always wanted to photograph and document my rock collection...this book gives me continuing inspiration to collect. I would also recommend it to anyone who wishes to better understand what agates are all about, and what makes particular ones so valuable. You will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful collection of photography on the subject.

I love to travel, both physically and mentally. This book is the ultimate scenic route through Britain. I've walked down some of those lanes and stood in front of some of those old town buildings. I've shopped in some of those quaint little old shops and I've stood on some of those cliffs and looked out over the English Channel.

I use this book now mainly as a reference for sketching, but also as a reminder of all those ancient and beautiful corners of England's green and pleasant land.

I cannot recommend this visually overwhelming resource highly enough!

This delightful book investigates the cat, its relationship with man and the development of the specialised breeds found today. It provides a practical guide to the care of one's pet while making entertaining excursions into the lives of famous cats of fact and fiction by using quotes from prose and poetry and showing cats in works of art. The book in fact opens with the poem My Cat Jeoffry by Christopher Smart and includes quotes from Chaucer and John Skelton. Cats feature in the works of famous artist like Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Dürer, Tintoretto, Ghirlandaio, Hieronymus Bosch, Brueghel and many others. In a way, the text serves also as a bibliography of works dedicated to cats, or in which they are mentioned, by people like Mark Twain, Doris Lessing, Tenessee Williams, Truman Capote and many others. There is even a chapter on Cats in the East. The character of the cat is described and compared with other animals, and its early history traced from the first appearance of the species, through the ancient Egyptian reverence for sacred cats to its association with magic and witchcraft in the middle ages. The enthusiasm and love of cats expressed by great figures in history make delightful reading. The different breeds that now exist are considered in turn and rare types like the Tibetan, Paraguyan, Kimona, Malay, Oriental, Bobtail and Korat are described. The author also provides practical advice on choosing the right cat and caring for it from kittenhood through all the phases of its life. With more than 200 pictures in black & white (including pics of Henri Matisse, Robert Graves & Ernest Hemingway with their cats) - plus over 40 more in full color - an intoxicating gallery of cats and kittens is provided. This is a classic book and a must-have for all people who are owned by or love cats.

An excellent "coffee table" book containing hundreds of glorious photos of golf courses in New York. Acquaints the reader with views of every corner of New York State, and is a perfect example of this photographer's unique talent.

they say that there are two kinds of books, the books of the day and the books of all times. This is one of the latter. The immortal words of Charles White have changed my life. Not a year goes by in which my fingers don't itch to pick up this old friend and thumb through it's familiar pages, enjoying the wisdom therin.

It was also an excellent reference source. It was well researched, concise and written elegently. Dr. White is a giant in his field and I also heard that he ran around the world. I can't verify this fact because I wasn't there but my friend Hugh has a T-shirt supporting this claim.

Fortner is pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Danville, KY. Besides being an author, and a pastor, he is well-known as a conference speaker. This a book of daily devotions, one for each year. There are, of course, a hundred or more books of devotions in print already, so why another one? If another one, why this particular one is worthy of your time and attention? Starting with Psalm 1:1-6, Fortner immediately sets the tone for the rest of the devotions. He is not only a preacher of the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), but he does it with such forthrightness that some will be taken aback. What other devotional writer will meet that standard? And especially, what Baptist preacher gives you the Doctrines of Grace with a sweetness of spirit as this one does? I can only think of Spurgeon's devotional classics. But having gone through Spurgeon, take this one next. You will find it on the same level of soundness. Day 5 has these words: "Rejoice evermore! Our sins are forgiven. We have the righteousness of God in Christ imputed to us. We are accepted in the Beloved. We are children of God by faith in Christ, heirs of God and joint-heirs with His Son, Jesus Christ. That One who loved us and gave himself for us is the sovereign Ruler of the universe. Why should we mourn? My Beloved is Mine, and I am my Beloved's (SOS 2:16). What then can keep me from rejoicing? I will rejoice in God my Saviour at all times. I cannot rejoice in sorrow, pain and trouble. But I can rejoice in my God in the midst of sorrow, pain and trouble." We highly recommend it as an excellent means of inciting you to rejoice evermore.
