I have worked with Patrick Zeigler and am delighted to see a book that expresses the energy and tone of his work so well. His forward to the book, however, does not reflect the real and delightful Patrick. I enjoyed reading the many workshop experiences that echoed my experience so well and I am deeply grateful for the guidance offered by Teresa and Graham. This book can help you move through the healing journey that is initialed in the All Love SKHM workshops. It is also an excellant guide for those who work in the growing field of energy healing. I highly recommend this book and can tell you, yes...ENERGY WORKS!

Field Guide To a Newer You

Rejuvenation is a huge topic. The problem is not that there aren't ways to rejuvenate
our bodyminds, but that one can get lost in the maze of the multifarious approaches.
This little book (107 pages including the Appendix) details the original, powerfully rejuvenative Tibetan Rites as described by Peter Kelder in the 1946 edition of Eye of Revelation. The book was significantly altered, and not necessarily for the better, in subsequent editions by Harbor Press and others. We owe a debt of gratitude to the editor Jerry Watts for making the original edition widely available, for his
editorial notes, including those detailing those differences between Eye of Revelation and later editions, and
for his pointers on making them even more user-friendly, such as his innovation of using
a "pushup stand" for the fourth Rite, which many find difficult in the beginning.

I would take issue with his caution against eating raw eggs (raw egg
yolks are advised in Kelder's book). I think there is more than enough evidence of the safety
of raw eggs; in fact I prefer raw eggs whole. If one eats
raw organic eggs from free-range chickens, the risk is infinitesimal and the nutritional benefits are great. Hopefully those comments will be modified in a later edition.

But overall, this is a fantastic contribution to the literature of the ancient, magical Rites, which apparently
do indeed act to synchronize the chakras and thus the glands. The chapters on Mantram Mind Magic, diet,
and voice exercises (including the simple yet powerfully effective chanting of "Aum") round out the book
to make it practically a total guide to rejuvenation. I myself have benefited greatly from
the Rites, though I am always seeking to improve my practice, and there is much for me to learn from and
ponder in the pages of this book.

I check this book out from the library and decided to add it to my personal library. I has great ideas for arranging and organizing your office space so that it "becomes a physical manifestation of your life's direction". It includes many pictures with detailed examples. This is a great book for your decorating collection.

Amazing book!!!!

As an acupuncture student, I find that most of my texts are pathology oriented. I found it refreshing and compelling to read about 5 element theory from such a holistic perspective. This book combines 5 element theory with chi kung pratices and meditations as well as creative truisms about the 6 conditions of healing. In addition, Gilles explains the correlations between different areas of the body and emotional patterns. I highly recommend this book for any who is wanting more self awareness. I also highly recommend this book to other chinese medicine students who are craving a way to integrate the art back into their study of chinese medicine.

An often overlooked benefit to yoga
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2006-08-28
Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol, morphine or idealism. (Carl Jung)

Cunningham notes that addicts have a history of mistreating their bodies and yoga is a practice to counteract those episodes of unhealthy damage. Yoga is a calming excercise that helps still the mind and body. While addiction is often akin to octane-fueld intense frenzie, yoga facilitates the opposite. A common understanding of the pathology of addiction is that it is a negative pattern that a person indulges in in a compulsive manner so as to escape from intense emotional pain. Various schools of yoga advocate the practice as a method of getting connected to the self while addiction promotes an escape from the self. The purpose here is to heal that need to escape by embracing an act that is about honoring our bodies and eventually ourselves.

excellent companion to Hands of Light
Helpful Votes: 13 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 2005-09-22
This book has the personal touch and lay explanations that Hands of Light is missing (it's a great book as well, but much more scientific, which I appreciate as well). The stories of the author's personal experiences with each modality are helpful and leave me eager to try it myself. Not so simple that experienced people won't enjoy it, but not so technical that people just starting their journey would be intimidated. I like that it covers many modalities and gives an overview of each. It even includes a chart for sound therapy. Pretty cool book. I got it from the library, but had to order a copy for my personal library. It's a keeper.

Anne Jones does a wonderful job of presenting material on
various types of negative energies, and what we can do to
clear them from our lives, in a clear and forthcoming manner.
People, places, and things, as well as the media, can direct
negative energy into the world and towards individuals, and
this book explains how to recognize when we are adversely
affected by such energy, and tells us many types of things
we can do about it. The author is clearly experienced as
a compassionate healer and intuitive, with many years of helping
people put the methods she offers, to heal negative energies,
into action. Any reader should come away from this book with
a greater understanding of this topic. I recommend this book
to anyone wishing for a better life, and a deeper understanding
of the natural world we live in.

The Healing Power of Light
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2007-09-21
Without the heat, energy, and light of the sun, all of what we take for granted (including our own lives) wouldn't exist. To think, that we owe everything to a very average, small star so very far away. It's almost beyond comprehension how something like the sun shining on our face or seeing a blue sky could represent something so very huge, so absolutely significant.

The Healing Power of Light looks at the life giving powers of the light and then expands to the healing qualities and potential usages for light. It is a truly amazing journey. The initial portion of this book looks at the history, mythology, and science of light. The sections that explore past views on light were especially interesting.

The later portion of this book looks at the healing properties of light. It is an impressive list of techniques, technologies, and potential uses: x-rays, lasers, chemotherapy, the production of vitamin D, light therapy for SAD patients, photon therapy, energy healing, etc. It was extremely interesting and thought provoking reading. I really respected that the author talked about wide range of healing techniques from those we've come to trust to those that are not yet widely recognized. If someone would have told us a century ago that we could use light to see to the bones of a human body or to undertake delicate surgery, we would have thought them absolutely mad.
