The questions do not correlate with review books put out by several well-known course reviewers. Too much info on each card - and no references. Flash cards should be quick to answer and read - one fact - not 10 in very small type.
Content of cards does not include disease management based on national guidelines and organized by system. Mostly Patho, Pharm, Immunology, and Pediatrics. Too much to pay for this product. I will not use them to study for the exam.

Lets just make every child little zombiees to make society happy. I am terrified of watching this young generation grow up from the lasting affects of drugs upon their minds. All it is is politics and profit from pharmacuetical companies. Please parents I beg of you to research psychology and psychiatry before you entrust them to your childrens well being

I purchased this book realizing that with a copyright date of 1995 some of the information it contained would be outdated. I was right, in fact, it was much more outdated than I had anticipated and did not reflect the information needed for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification exam. As a collector of nursing texts I am keeping this book simply for the historical perspective. I do not recommend it as a preparation tool for the certification exam.

This is by far the worst of the 3 review books I've used. Save yourself the time and money and go ahead and get Millonig. There is nothing but the absolute basics that most ADN nurses know already. For instance, they sum up growth and development through age 21, including diet, in 9 pages and there are no practice tests of any kind (topic specific or general exam questions). The "secrets" are the same test tips you get in high school. I hope this wasn't reviewed by a PNP because some of their "facts" are wrong. Of course, I have no idea who reviewed this study guide because no references or editors are noted.

I wanted to like this book but couldn't. After a BRIEF preface, the authors present a relentless stream of tables unbroken by commentary. Each table is offered with the study's author, publication date, sample size, gender, age, nationality, population, time frame and method of report. There is also an index listing primary symptoms and page references to help navigate the reader, however it is incomplete and retrieving a table by a symptom ranked second or third in the listing requires rereading the text.
Given that base-rates tend to define abnormality and given the usefulness of inquiring about comorbid symptoms, this book seems like it ought to be a useful. Instead it is a curiosity. Results are presented without the rationale for the studies inclusion or discussion of the results no matter how provocative.
The book seems to selectively include studies providing elevated rates of symptomatology.I worry that these citations, which seem to show inflated rates of illness and pathological symptoms in community samples, will be used to further dismiss vulnerable individuals with health concerns.

This is a grossly simplistic look at TBI rehab. Just compare it to Mark Ylvisaker's "Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation" and you will realize that Clikeman's book was a completely wasted effort. Three years after a fairly comprehensive work is published, here we have someone wasting trees with a superficial treatment of the identical material.

These authors wrote as if they were paid by the number of words. The gist of the book is that suicidal patients should be treated with Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Change a few words here and there and the book could be CBT treatment for just about any Axis I diagnosis. They spend a lot of time reviewing literature on CBT. They repeat the same ideas over and over again throughout the book. What little they had of substance on suicidal behavior would be best presented in a small pamphlet rather than a book. The book also seems to assume that the client is high functioning, and articulate. In my opinion, this book is written to impress rather than inform. I bought the book because David Barlow is listed as the editor. I am greatly surprised that David H. Barlow would allow his name to appear on such a poorly written book.
