A philosophical look at the relation between soul and body

This little booklet looks with a spiritual eye at the philosophical question of the relationship between the human soul and body.
Table of Contents
1. There are two worlds--the spiritual world, where spirits and angels are, and the natural world, where men are
2. The spiritual world existed and subsists from its own sun, and the natural world from its own sun
3. The sun of the spiritual world is pure love, from Jehovah God, Who is in the midst of it
4. From that sun proceeds heat and light, and the heat proceeding from it is in its essence love, and the light from it is in its essence wisdom
5. Both the heat and the light flow into man--the heat into his will, where it produces the good of love, and the light into his understanding, where it produces the truth of wisdom
6. Those two, namely, heat and light, or love and wisdom, flow conjointly from God into the soul of man, and through this into his mind, its affections and thoughts, and from these into the senses, speech, and actions of the body
7. The sun of the natural world is pure fire, and by means of this sun the world of nature existed and subsists
8. Therefore everything which proceeds from this sun, regarded in itself, is dead
9. The spiritual clothes itself with the natural, as a man clothes himself with a garment
10. Spiritual things, thus clothed in a man, enable him to live a rational and moral man, thus a spiritually natural man
11. The reception of that influx is according to the state of love and wisdom in a man
12. The understanding in a man can be elevated into the light, that is into the wisdom, in which the angels of heaven are, according to the improvement of his reason; and in like manner his will can be elevated into the heat of heaven, that is into love, according to the deeds of his life; but the love of the will is not elevated except so far as the man wills and does those things which the wisdom of the understanding teaches
13. It is altogether otherwise with beasts
14. There are three degrees in the spiritual world, and three degrees in the natural world, hitherto unknown, according to which all influx takes place
15. Ends are in the first degree, causes in the second, and effects in the third
16. From these things it is plain what is the quality of spiritual influx from its origin to its effects

While I don't believe there is one source of intuition and how to strenthen yours. This book is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learn more about their intuition and metaphysical strengths.
I suggest reading the book sequentially (from cover to cover) then going back to the chapters and exercises that appeal to you.
Very easy read. Great exercises and insight to the world we live in, both seen and unseen.

Edward Rowe Snow holds a place in my heart. I remember when I was younger and taking the tours of Boston Harbor with this extrodanary historian.
I had the first edition of this book and was lost to me when I was young. Every books store would say, "Sorry, this book is unavaiable, or out of print." I am very glad they re-released these treasures.
This book has the ledgend of the Lady in Black of George's Island.
Read if you are interested in New England History or you are from Boston. Great Book.

This is a well-written, fabulous book that I loved. Granted, it is a little on the stereotypical side, but it is never quite predictable. The grand revelation is quite shocking, and adds to the beauty of this book. A good story of true love, to say the least.

This is a great book...it has all the information needed to properly document your firearms and is highly deserving of a place in the library of any discerning armscollector. I have noted one discrepancy in the description of this book though... The publisher of the book "pictured" (Iver Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works Handguns, 1871-1993) is a current title from Gun Show Books Publishing, and the book in the title description (Iver Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works Handguns, 1871-1978)
is an out of print title from the same author but a different publisher.

A welcome and unique addition to American History reference and resource shelves, James Bowdoin and the Patriot Philosophers by Frank and Fritzie Manuel is a close examination of the early years of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as offering the life story of James Bowdoin II, the Academy's first president. Drawn from the unpublished records of the AAAS, the personal papers of many of the Fellows, documents archived in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Harvard University, and a great deal more, James Bowdoin And The Patriot Philosophers superbly presents a realistic picture of the society, its contributions to America, and the times it flourished in.

"JFK, LBJ, and the Democratic Party," written by Sean J. Savage, is a fabulous book for people everywhere who want to learn more about what happened in the days of Kennedy and Johnson.
The 1958 election was an affair of rivals and allies. As a country, we were looking for greater support on different issues such as economics, agriculture, education and heath care. This book includes some very extraordinary photos of Kennedy and Johnson, and there are also photos of Robert Kennedy, Hubert H. Humphrey and many more. I love the photo section and Mr. Savage did the book great justice by including the photos he found during his research.
I think it's very important for the children of today to learn about the elections of the past. Some of the issues discussed can teach students how we have come a long way to our current Presidency, in politics and the White House. The Kennedys were very popular people and even though John F. Kennedy was killed, his legacy lives on and on in the minds of the people of the United States.
Readers of this book will discover details on the elections of the 1960s, and how they relate to the world today. I really appreciate the details in this book and how much I actually learned from it. It is very hard to put into words the gist of this book, so I highly recommend it.

Written about a time and place which will never return. The translation by Frans van Rosevelt is excellent. A short tale about the Dutch East Indies.

Institutions of Reading: The Social Life of Libraries in the United States is an anthology of essays by learned authors concerning the evolution of the modern institution of the library, from the late eighteenth century to the modern digital era. Individual essays include "Subscription Libraries and Commercial Circulating Libraries in Colonial Philadelphia and New York", "Faith in Reading: Public Libraries, Liberalism, and the Civil Religion", "Women Writers and Their Libraries in the 1920s", "Scarcity or Abundance? Preserving the Past in a Digital Era", and many more. An astute and scholarly exploration of what composes a library and how libraries have affected modern culture, and a welcome addition to library history and library science shelves.
