So many of us have clocked hours and hours at yoga classes, workshops, seminars, or at the gym. Sometimes we can't make it to class, and sometimes the need for centering arises suddenly, so here's a handbook to help you develop techniques to complement those healthy habits.

The ideas in this book helped me develop a personalized daily practice. I turn to it for inspiration and how-to's and depend on it to help me through my week whether I make it to my yoga class or not. Its many techniques and how to's help you use spare minutes throughout the day to develop your own health-giving and spirit-nourishing practices. It's all good.

I've read hundreds of books on Chakras and Energy Healings and this is the most informative, grounded and clear book I've ever seen. The books is well written, easy to understand and has so much practical information I find myself returning to it over and over again.

I so enjoyed reading this book. Francesca McCartney's writing style is very clear and the content very compelling. I appreciated how she began the book with a(very interesting)personal story. After just the first two chapters I realized that I was going to receive a HUGE amount of information in a very accessible format in this book. I can't imagine the process of distilling so much complex information into such an easy to read format. The endnotes and bibliography demonstrate the extensive thought and research that went into this valuable sourcebook.

This is a must read for those who are interested in learning energy work. Everything is short and clear; easy to understand.

Touch therapy is the oldest and finest modality of healing on this planet. It treats the cause of an illness. This is one book that should remain on the market especially now with Reiki and Touch Therapy being used by more and more professionals, even in hospital settings. Patients should have the opportunity to understand that there is real hope, not traditional hopelessness. I am thankful that Ruth Montgomery wrote Born to Heal. I have been using this approach for 25 years and I have seen what it can do.

This is a fascinating story about the use of life energy!

I first got my hands on this book years and years ago. It was powerful then, and remainds one of the most awe inspiring books I have ever read! The medical profession, and scientific field will someday acknowledge Mr.A and the life energy's power to heal.

Previous reviewers have emphasized Mr. A's actual healing, a great thing, indeed. I was rather intrigued by his life philosophy, given at the end of the book.

For example: "The highest universal wealth is to be contented and to be at peace within yourself."

"...the more wisdom one has, the easier life is, because what people understand they do not fear."

"Wisdom can be dampened and distorted by education."

Tell me about it. I have a doctorate in psychology from a recognized graduate school, but wisdom? Well, I was wise enough to read this book, I guess that's something.

Mr. A tells the author, "We must reach for the higher and give to the lower, according to our level of wisdom...If everyone were doing this, people wouldn't be impairing their health by trying to outmaneuver each other on the present monetary basis...this would keep the human cycle closer to the natural cycles of the universe."

Wow! Have you ever heard anything so full of truth?

You could meditate on this your entire life, better yet act on it. I could, too.

Ruth Montgomery chronicles the remarkable healing work of Bill Gray, the "Mr. A" of "Born to Heal". Numerous healers throughout the United States are now trying to replicate this important work. Master Chia and his wife have a collection of books based on Chinese healing, specifically dealing with massage, Chi energy or both. This book is an easy-to-use guide even for someone without any background knowledge on the subject and provides a good introduction that is brief and easy enough to understand so the healing can start nearly immediately.

Broken into chapters according to anatomy, there are simple drawings showing location and technique accompanied by step-by-step instructions that guide your hands and explanations that detail the benefit. Be aware these are not necessarily 'cures' or immediate fix-its for everything that ails you, but rather a way of healing and prevention to promote overall health. By massaging the body's organs, which work flawlessly for decades without much attention (and we often take for granted), we can expel toxins, help them work more efficiently and bolster our immune system without drugs, side effects or expensive doctor visits.

Also, by empowering ourselves, we take more control of our health and our lives.

I have been looking for the information found in this book for a while. I learned these techniques from a teacher but always wanted something written to refer back to or to share with others. The information and pictures are invaluable and the results are incredible.

This is definitely one of his easiest books to use, since it is mostly just simple directions of where to rub for what purpose, and what to visualize as you do it. One night I'd eaten a 2-day old bean soup and was up for hours with nightmarish gas. Finally I remembered I had this book and sat up, rubbing my eyelids and ears and large intestine just the way he recommended. The gas went away and I was totally rejuvenated. Since then I never question anything he suggests! Also, these massages really help me deal with the effects of air travel.

If you are interested in your own health, this is a great book. It is an easy to understand book om Taoist Chi Self-massage to keep the energy in the internal organs cirkulating. The beginner can use it right away, and there is still some avanced things for the avanced student.

I have rarely enjoyed a book as much as "Ears of the Angels." From the start you can tell Deena Zalkind Spear is one of those writers who could write about anything and make the journey absolutely enjoyable. While she has a degree in neurobiology, her true love is making violins. In fact, she has been making violins for 30 plus years.

Deena Zalkind Spear has a super natural ability to make dull instruments come alive and her imaginative writing takes you into the esoteric intricacies of violin making. Although I knew very little about violin making, this entire book was enlightening from the spiritual perspective. She takes healing to new creative levels and her thoughts helped me understand why when you talk to certain friends your vibrational energy can be enhanced. Why do you feel so good around certain people and feel like you have to run from people who seem to be killing your spirit? This book explained it in ways I never thought any author could.

The author recounts her initial years of marriage with an undeniable sense of humor. Her wry wit and casual acceptance of fate explains the background to her craft. This book is for readers who know there is more to life than what meets the eyes. While many people experience unexplainable phenomena, they never explore them in depth. Deena Zalkind Pear takes her talents to new levels and invites us to take this fascinating journey into the unexplained.

A highly entertaining read even if you don't play the violin or make violins. Will be especially useful for students of the violin. If you love violin music, this book will show you how violins are made and repaired.

I just recieved my book yesterday, and read the entire book in about 6 hours, I could not put it down. While I do not play the violin or anyother instrument, the book provided much energy information that can be applied to those experienced, or seeking to become experienced with energy work. It allows you to understand that energy is not just for people, pets, plants, or anyother living being that we work at healing. It was totally fasinating to discover that this woman could not only tune up the owners of instruments all over the world distantly for distinguished orchestra members but their instruments at the same time. They really do have living energy just like everything else, and if this is of interest to you, I recommend you read the book, and take from it what you want, and explore the possiblities to expand your knowledge of just what is possible. Neurobiologist Deena Spear writes with candor and self-effacing humor in EARS OF THE ANGELS about how energy work can heal and transform violins, violas, cellos... and human beings. This is an extraordinary book by an extraordinary person. Deena Spear completed her premedical studies in neurobiology but decided not to pursue a career as a physician. She unexpectedly found herself attracted to playing the violin (with very modest success), which led to a career as a luthier - building and repairing violins, violas and cellos with her teacher, who then became her husband.

Being something of a perfectionist, Deena was constantly seeking ways to improve the sound of the instruments they built and repaired. Through channeled guidance from master violin makers, she learned to shave minute bits from precise points on the instruments, significantly enhancing their sound.

Deena was also drawn to spiritual healing and graduated from the four-year Barbara Brennan School of Healing course. Her two interests merged when she discovered that she could tune the instruments mentally. Conversely, her studies of how to tune the instruments mentally enhanced her confidence and skills in offering distant healing.

After honing her healing skills with the same diligence she had applied to studying to enhance the sound of violins, Deena started teaching others both of these skills. She finds that the tuning of violins gives people confidence in their abilities to influence matter at a distance, which then helps them to believe they can send healing to people from a distance.

What a fantastic journey into expanded consciousness! Deena Spear speaks with such down-to-earth candor, that one can't help but believe everything she describes. Not to mention that it totally concurs with Jane Roberts's and Machaelle Small Wright's books. A neurobiologist who studied with Jane Roberts and eventually became a luthier to very high level classical musicians (what an amazing career) and still talks of herself as if she's not very smart. Now I'm just realizing that perhaps with what SHE'S seen, she knows how much we ALL have to learn...

This workbook provides a basic introduction to the study of intuition medicine. While it is better to have such introductions in person, this book, supplemented by a series of audiotapes, can provide a good taste of the subject.

I am pleased to see a major emphasis given here to grounding exercises, which help to keep the student and practitioner centered and in touch with earth energies. Without this, it is very easy to get "ungrounded" and confused in doing intuitive and energy work.

Other chapters introduce the aura and chakra energy systems for healing, colors in healing, male/female energies and more.

These days most people I know are trying to find the "meaning" in their lives. Their trying to "get clear" of the information in their head that isn't necessarily their own... cultural messages, family messages, "I should" messages. This book is excellent for explaining in a technical yet understandable mode of what is really going on. Thus, one can "reclaim" their personal power in order to live their life full of "ease and grace."

A concise, easy to use text for anyone interested in exploring and strengthening their gift of intuition. Whether a beginner or experienced student of the subject, everyone will walk away with practical tools to enhance everyday living!

Intuition Medicine: The Science of Energy is an important book in the emerging field of energy medicine. Unlike many popular books on this subject, Ms. McCartney provides an equal balance of theory and practical tools that make her model come alive. Her language is clear and concise so that even skeptics can understand the basic importance of enhancing intuition and mapping the body's energy systems. McCartney's book is filled with useful meditation techniques and daily living advice to help readers gain a better awareness of how to increase their intuition, gain a better awareness of their energetic body, and a heightened ability to connect to their higher self. This book presents an important way of looking at the relationship we have with ourselves and others. I highly recommend it.

The information Ms. McCartney shares in this intriguing volume provides valuable insight to seeking and understanding yourself. I have studied with Ms. McCartney and have experienced the lessons in this book firsthand. This process has helped me to uncover who I really am and what I want to do with my life. If you don't live in the Bay Area and cannot attend the Academy of Intuitive Studies and Intuition Medicine in person, this book and the companion tapes are the next best thing. You will learn a compendium of tools from a variety of disciplines, including those developed by Ms. McCartney herself, that can provide ways to find deeper insight into your life and purpose. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

In comparison to other,better selling guides, this book excels in that it keeps to the topic at hand, namely, Reiki. The descriptions are thoughtful, the illustrations and photographs beautiful and appropriate. A great book for beginners, as it doesn't bring in confusing and conflicting viewpoints as I have seen elsewhere. Those who already know Reiki, and have other books, may wish to add this to their collection just to see how such a book should be done. Perfect for use during discussions with clients.

This book is a beaurifully written resource about the practice of Reiki, an energy healing method. I recommend it to any one who is interested in alternatives to traditional Western medical practice.

As a student Reiki, I was referred to this book. As a now Reiki Master, I recommend it to students, or anyone wishing to understand this great Universal Healing Energy that we all have. It has short chapters, that are in depth, with illustrations. It is not the end of all of Reiki knowledge, but Richard Ellis has packed as much as he should have into this easily transportable book. It is sturdy, and has flaps, built into the book, at either end for bookmarking. A great tool for Reiki Masters, and an easy to understand book for newcomers to Reiki.

Richard Ellis' fine introduction into the world of Reiki was just the beginning of a change for my family and myself. It was clear, to the point, and unpretentious; allowing me to understand the world of Reiki though this was the first time I was reading about it.

"Practical Reiki" motivated me to get initaiated as soon as possible, so you can imagine my elation when I found that two Reki Masters reside in Istanbul where my younget son lives. This informatiuon came to me several days before my wife and I were on our way to visit him and spend our holiday in Istanbul. The three of us were duely initaiated and I moved on to the second level while my wife and son decided to wait before they did the same. I can sincerely and unequivocally say that this experience has changed our lives.

I am aware that I have written little about the book. This is because I didn't feel the need to get into any details that the reader will undoubtadly realise by himself. The title says it all: "Practical Reki," this book does not stray into topics that Reki afficionados can only understand. It is a book for all and any who wish to enter, or at least get a glimpse of the wonder that Reki offers. For me it was an inspirartion, a beginning, a stepping stone into a new and fulfilling world.

A brilliant book written by someone who knows what they are talking about.

This book has got to be a God-sent answer to prayers of Christians struggling to reconcile their beliefs and the practice of Reiki. I know of no other book which I have read puts it across so clearly and yet so enjoyably. It tells how the wonderworking miracle power of God can work through all who are willing to be His channels. Dr. Usui's life. We can never sufficiently honor the great ones who have blazed the trail for us. Their perserverance and humanity gives me courage on my own healing journey.

Reiki Master Julia Carroll has done an exceptionally great work with co-authoring this book on Reiki with other healing modalities. She truly has a worthy book and I highly recommended it for those studing the healing arts. Having been in the nursing profession for over 45 years the research on the healing modalities will support that energy healing does happen for the non-believer. After having visited my medical physicans for months with chronic back pain and digestive pain we hit a roadblock. The physicians could find no reason for my medical issues. MRI, of everything you can think of produced no real diagnosis with the exception of a degenerative disk. I decided to try something different and I struck gold. No longer do I take any medications and I am so much more active. My day to day life has changed as well. In short, I am going through a transformation. Dr. Wayne Dyer has taught me a better approach to life.

Dr. Wayne Dyer really practices what he lectures about . . . I
just heard him on a PBS special, in which he described how he
often sends those who write him a gift for no special reason . . . so when he graciously sent me his live lecture tape series, SECRETS OF YOUR OWN HEALING POWER, I rushed to listen to it . . . my reaction: WOW!

As is the case with any book or tape put out by Dyer, you'll be
inspired and informed when experiencing it . . . in addition, you'll be entertained (as was the group of chiropractic professionals fortunate to be able to hear him).

He emphasizes that the secrets to healing are not somewhere "out
there," but rather, healing is something that takes place inside each and every one of us, occurring when we "connect to our Source" and bring Spirit to the disease." He emphasizes that healers need to be able to banish doubt and see their clients as individuals who already possess the capacity to heal themselves. That is, those with health challenges need to have someone in their energy field who truly believes that healing can take place.

These other observations by Dyer also caught my attention:
Doctors when they misdiagnose . . . do they then agree to having
misbilled?

When you place a label on somebody you negate them. You then
begin to treat the label, not the person.

Four words will end all conflicts in relationships: You're right about that.

This is very inspirational, humorous, frank and informative. Dr Dyer never fails to show me another way or another book which takes me further along the path of development. In this CD he has produced some magnificent work. I laughed, I cried and I was extremely moved. I recommend it to anyone wanting to find the truth of what the world is about.

Listening to Dr. Dyer is refreshing and reinforces what I already know but somehow forget in the process of everyday living.

I really enjoyed the audio book. I felt Mr. Dryer had a good sense of humor yet realistic goals that we can all find our way to. I feel this book would be good for anyone trying to let go of past anger, disappointment, or pain. I have recommended it to many clients of our health library, and the therapists at our clinic are now referring clients to it as well.

There are some books you pick up and open where the information on that page is EXACTLY what you need. This is that kind of book. I've read many metaphysical books with exercises at the end of each chapter. This book is about CHANGING YOUR LIFE!

Spiritual Energy Cycles is incredibly straightforward, a clear, step by step guide to an everyday wisdom that has enriched my life. The language is fresh and clear. The voice is not presumptious, but rather friendly, down-homey, and I find that reassuring and refreshing. The book has helped me many times, I have read it again and again, getting both guidance and support from what I have found to be great wisdom in it's pages. I consider it a resource now, for everyday life, and I'm glad to have it!

"Spiritual Energy Cycles" has been one of the greatest gifts in my life. I am new to metaphysical teachings and I consider this book to be my "reference manual" for spiritual growth. I have read it many times and each time it offers just what I need in that moment of my life. I loved reading this book as it holds many spiritual gems straight from the writers heart. Jackie Woods is powerful in her teachings and shows simple steps to work through patterns we've all gathered throughout our lives. The format of Spiritual Energy Cycles makes it easy to apply to any situation.

Since reading the book I have MANY times caught myself wrapped in emotion and stuck in a mental thought and said, 'Now, what's the bottom line here?!' This grounds me and allows me to move through my creation of growth! Then comes the manifestation part of the cycle. That's what it's all about ... it's a cycle! I would reccomend this book to anyone who is on a spiritual growth path. I re-read this book on a regular basis.

The information provided in this book is absolutely amazing. I've been a highly dedicated student of metaphysical teachings since 1984, studying dozens of different teachers, and I THOUGHT I was on a powerful Spiritual path - until I came across the information in this book. That's not to say that I did not have tremendous Spiritual growth before - I did - but anyone who is interested in TURBO-CHARGING their growth will count this book as "mandatory reading". If you liked "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsh, this little 75 page book can take you even further down the path than you imagined. I've had dozens of favorite teachers over the years, from Stuart Wilde to Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra to Wayne Dyer - but the information in this book helped bring about wonderful healings in my physical body that all the other teachings did not accomplish. To be specific, I had cronic rib neuritis - VERY painful - that would go away after 3-4 accupressure sessions, only to fire back up 2-3 months later. The teachings in Spiritual Energy Cycles healed this problem - never to return! In addition, I suffered cronic, perpetual anxiety for over thirty years before coming into the understanding of how to put these teachings into effect in my life. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book - and ESPECIALLY the "companion tape" by Jackie Woods on "Meditation and Needs" - to anyone who is serious about maximizing their Spiritual growth.
