Every Energy Healer Needs this Book!Review Date: 2001-10-23
I was delighted to be able to make immediate use of the concept of working with the rainbow rays of color for self-healing. In just a few minutes, with the aid of a simple color visualization technique, I cleared out a long-standing pattern of fear which had resided in the cells of my body for most of my life (a kind of background noise that I had become accustomed to). I'm grateful to have noticed tremendous and lasting improvement from such a simple exercise.
HEALING WITH THE RAINBOW RAYS is valuable for healers of every level of experience, since Alijandra takes care to explain basic terms and also outline some rather advanced exercises such as: time travel, teleportation, levitation, invisibility, and shapeshifting. Another unexpected surprise about this book is it's coverage of the "black ray" -- an often overlooked color in healing.
I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind to seeing the world in new ways, and most especially to anyone who wishes to heal themselves or others.
Rainbow Healing Blazes Across the UniverseReview Date: 2005-02-24
HEALING with the RAINBOW RAYS requires a person to take a personal interest in their self. By utilizing Alijandra's teachings and techniques we will find our own unique power from within. And with any fine object that needs to be "tweaked" to stay in tip-top operation, Alijandra's HEALING with the RAINBOW RAYS is just the maintenance manual that our spirit needs to stay in perfect harmony with one's own self.
I look forward to reading more writings from Alijandra.

One of the best Reiki Books I've come byReview Date: 2007-11-30
These two books were a breath of fresh air and I had a hard time putting them down. I actually enjoyed The Japanese Art of Reiki more than the Source Book. I thought it was more in-depth on techniques and the practical side of Reiki, which was what I was looking for. It gives you a view of Reiki as a solid daily routine. It just seemed to click with me better than some of what I was taught in my Reiki classes. This book has a lot I have not seen in any other book. The Sourcebook is more of general take on things. Though, there is not much redundant material in each if you buy them together. ( I highly recommend you do) If I could only have two Reiki books it would be these. If I could only have one it would be Japanese Art of Reiki.
What Reiki is really all about!Review Date: 2006-08-22
This book takes you back in time to what reiki is on a personal level, and what Usui-sensei originally taught. Reiki was not meant to be of just "palm healing" only, becoming a Reiki master/teacher and just healing others, look inside yourself and listen, Reiki is all about "you"!
Get the book, read it and when you are done, read it AGAIN! There is no other book that can compare!

Visualizations, spells, and charms for the cubicle crowdReview Date: 2002-10-05
if you want to get in touch with your inner Wild Woman instead of your inner child,
if you seek empowerment from within and ways to achieve it,
if you are seeking spells that will help you with the problems you encounter in the modern office,
then this is the book for you.
Filled with a sense of empowerment and whimsy, this book will inspire and amuse at the same time. Each chapter covers a day of the week and provides advice on the energy of the day, colors and fragrances to wear and surround yourself with, crystals, stones, and herbs to have with you, and a special Goddess for each day and its energy. Included throughout the book are spells to promote cooperation and solidarity, protect or recover property, receive raises or promotions, promote or prevent office romance, ward off sexual harrassment, and for many other common office situations. Although written for women, this will be enjoyed by any male who seeks harmony with the Goddess and her energies in his life.
A fun, useful book for the working WiccanReview Date: 2004-03-31
Z. Budapest manages to pack a lot in her fun, tiny book. She starts by describing her image of the Wild Woman, a preverbal creature who howls, moans, grumbles and purrs, and who makes us fall in love at inopportune times with inappropriate persons. Wild Woman gets bored at work, and need a place where they feel grounded. Budapest encourages women to create an unobtrusive "power spot" with tiny stones, perhaps a bird's nest, or other precious tiny things where the Wild Woman will feel at home-in other words, creating a tiny bit of beauty and tranquility in one's workplace.
One aspect of "Goddess in the Office" that I particularly appreciated is the extent to which Budapest put me in tune with the energy of each day. I do find that I have a hard time focusing on work when I come in on Mondays, that I do get down to business on Tuesdays, that by Wednesday I'm looking to what I need to do next week, etc. Becoming aware of these energies helps to address the particular challenges that they pose.
The chapters in "Goddess in the Office" are organized by the seven days of the week. Budapest begins each chapter by focusing on the day's energy, contemplating on the meaning behind the day's name (for instance, Moonsday has dreamy, introspective connotations), and the goddess associated with that day. (Continuing with the moon theme, Monday's Goddess is Artemis.) After exploring the symbolic meaning of the day, Budapest then suggests scents, gems, and colors to express the day's energy. I particularly liked her suggesting various colors, depending on the energy that would be needed on a particular day. Each chapter also includes a handful of work-related spells (which don't need to be done on a particular day) and ends meditation exercise (to be done at home) for connecting with one's Wild Woman.
Budapest acknowledges the importance that weekends play in achieving balance in our work lives. While the Saturday and Sunday chapters seem lighter than the workday chapters, they do provide some good ideas for renewing one's energy and getting ready for the next week.
The spells in "Goddess in the Office" are the only one's I've found that specifically address the kinds of challenges that arise at work. Budapest includes spells for computer problems, giving a speech, blessing a project, protecting against sexual harassment, etc. You can follow her suggestions discretely with easily accessible supplies. For instance, the spell for purifying the office involves soaking lemon verbena or a pinch of sea salt in spring water, and scattering the blessed water around the office before co-workers arrive at work.
"Goddess in the Office" isn't Wicca 401, by any stretch of the imagination. You're not going to delve into deep spiritual issues. But you just might have fun! The little line drawings of the naked Wild Woman serve as a great reminder that we cannot ignore our playful selves for too long just because we also have to earn a paycheck.

Lotus Guide Magazine ReviewReview Date: 2008-06-29
By Mantak Chia and Juan Li
I highly recommend this book for any tai chi student. It is a great introduction to the inner workings of internal energy and gives plenty of practice for more advanced students. It presents understandings of how to cultivate chi and make it work for you. The diagrams are simple and as easy to understand as presentation of this material allows.
Pyramid Michael has been a tai chi instructor since 1985, student of tai chi chuan since 1981, and student of the "life force" since 1972.
The Inner Structure of Tai Chi: Tai Chi Chi Kung IReview Date: 2004-02-20
Very nice overview of Tai Chi biomechanics and QigongReview Date: 2003-08-26
a vast amount of information that my Tai Chi instructor
has been trying to pass onto me. It's nice to get a second opinion!
For those who took a Tai Chi class at the YMCA or community
college and aren't sure whether you got legitimate instruction
in traditional Tai Chi concepts or not, this is a great book to
find out with! For beginners looking for a good teacher, this
is a good guide. For experienced practitioners, it seems more a review, but I picked up a pearl or two, and as we all know, sometimes you can attend a weekend seminar for just one new insight!
Looking at it scientifically, Chia very effectively describes
what I have been taught is the proper way to practice Tai Chi.
How to hold the various parts of your body, where force/qi
should be exerted, how to think about your internal structure or
posture when practicing Tai Chi. From what I can tell, many people who study Tai Chi do not learn these fundamental concepts (do not confuse fundamental with easy-- these concepts are easy to read, but are difficult to practice).
Chia gives general principles first. Body structure, breathing, meditation/qi circulation practices. This is the best part of the book. He then describes several different ways to practice Tai Chi, focusing on different elements each time. This is so true! There is so much to perfect in Tai Chi, it's almost impossible to work on all of them at the same time! You pick one element, practice it until you get it better, then pick another... and on and on. Then Chia gives specifics for individual postures. However...
Chia gives a very short sequence-- a Tai Chi Qigong form that is quite simple, so that you can concentrate more on structure, qi meditation, and less on memorizing the sequence of postures. The form is essentially Yang family style in terms of the postures/movements presented. Unfortunately, this cuts out many postures you might find even in the Yang Short (24 movement) Form, so you don't get Chia's interpretation for structure for a lot of the classic, well-known postures found in the short form. That's unfortunate, because reading his description of the individual movements was quite helpful, and reading his decription for all the movements would make this a better, more comprehensive book. Based on his catalog, it seems Chia practices the Yang long form or a variant thereof. How about a book, Mr. Chia?
Overall, a nice book that I will re-read and refer to as I continue to progress in my practice. Highly recommended!

Another Gem from Mantak ChiaReview Date: 2006-03-04
Not only do most of his methods work very well, but much of his material has not been published elsewhere, except in some works in Chinese. I learned a few of the same exercises while studying in China and I was told that they came from oral traditions. That tends to give more credence to Mantak Chia's teachings. For example, one of the things that he emphasizes is the use of spiral "energy," that is not much mentioned in many books on Tai Chi and Qigong.
Tai chi was developed as both a martial art and a way to cultivate the physical body, subtle systems and spirit. People are often incredulous when they see the slow movements and hear that it is the basis of a martial art. But I have seen experts do some quite extraordinary things with Tai Chi: the key is the development and retention of internal "energy." I put quotes around the word energy, because it isn't really an accurate translation of the word "qi." Which is better translated as "influence." I have commented elsewhere that it's a bit of a misnomer to talk about "energy." This is not a semantic point, but rather something that can be very helpful in practice, particularly when using tai Chi for health and healing.
I prefer to use the term subtle "systems," to be a little more precise than saying "energies," for these subtle systems are composed of the inseparable twins:
1. Subtle energies and
2. The subtle fields that carry them.
Without energy the fields could not actualize, and without the fields, there would be nothing to carry the energy.
This book is full of excellent examples of how to stimulate and strengthen these subtle systems. Some other meditative practices, like kundalini, are not good at retaining the forces that you generate with these practices. Mantak Chia once said that kundalini yoga was a great way to heat a room!
There is a limit to how far you can go in Tai Chi and Qigong without a teacher, but this book will take you much further than most, and if you are already engaged in either type of practice, the book will give you a lot of helpful pointers.

Is a really good book, written in a way everyone can understand and use in their lives.
Healing is explainedReview Date: 2008-02-08
Here is a book that surprized me totally, what this is is a dictionary of a variety of styles and methods of healing that can used any time any where on anyone. I am keeping this one on my desk for easy reference. It cleary explains how to incorporate healing into our every day lives, sort of a personality match for different energies. It stresses that anyone can heal any ailment, disease, addiction and pain. Not only do these different healing techniques work, but they are quite easy to follow with the information given. The research on these techniques gave enough credulance that I came away wanting to immediately try some out at least once to see the outcome, i was amazed! If something works out likek this then lets all incorporate our attitude to be ready to heal at a moments notice under any sudden circumstance, could be a first aid tool of sorts.
This book is indeed timely, the manner of our changing times that we live in is bombared toxically in all elements, affecting our bodies, minds and soul, this is the hand book to use. It opened me up to many more techniques that effectively heal clients, other people and pets.
Nice work by author Serge Kahili King, Ph.D., btw he has published other books that are excellant sources of information.
Saved My LifeReview Date: 2004-09-28
The paralysis was bad enough that I couldn't even speak coherently (I'd have to hold my lips with my hand in order to make an understandable sound), nor could I eat properly due to lack of sensation and because I couldn't move the muscles of my mouth. It was simply unacceptable to me to live like that, so I remembered "instant healing" technique.
I have adapted that "instant healing / it never happened" technique with NLP Time-Line technique and spend few days running the new pattern in my mind re-living my life from before the event until the present moment as if my face was always normal and it never became paralyzed.
It was not INSTANT healing - but it took ONLY FEW DAYS for my face to become COMPLETELY NORMAL and to FUNCTION PERFECTLY. My friend said that that he was utterly amazed as he watched the transformation on my face returning to normal - he said it was just like witnessing a miracle. Yeah, our minds are truly miraculous.

For me, Michael Lomax says clearly everything that I've intuitively known about Energy and Light but not put into words. To have the confirmation in a book in the hand is a great gift, indeed.
As a faithful tai chi and qigong practitioner, I was interested in Michael's Stillness/Movement Qigong in Chapter 3. So I decided to try the method for the hundred days suggested to give it an honest go. Within two days I made this qigong meditation part of my daily practice. If you've ever achieved that deep pure beautiful space, the high level connection with all--Bliss!--but then never quite achieved that state so well again, this is the method and the book that will get you there.
I especially like what Michael says about energetic cord attachments. If you work with people in any sort of therapeutic way or if you are energetically connected to everyone you know, this information can save you from burnout.

Brilliant and Authoritative Review Date: 2008-07-17
Most readers may think I am some kind of fanatic. Well, maybe I am. But I believe that a calorie restricted, nutrient rich diet, leads to better health for the brain and all the other organs of the body. I also believe that calorie restriction is easy when the food served is simple and not made artificially enticing.
Maybe Dr McCleary believes that most people simply will not be willing to eliminate these expensive and enticing kinds of foods. I do admit that almost everyone probably feels this way, and would greatly benefit just by doing exactly as he has written. For this reason I must bow to his judgment.
I definitely agree with Dr. McCleary's recommendations for dietary supplements and mental exercises. What I'm really saying is that I plan to do as he says except that my diet is a bit more restrictive - simply steamed vegetables, whole grains, skim milk, more fish, less whole eggs, a little skinless chicken, and almost no red meat. And no candy. Candy kills more people than cigarettes.
I'm a 70 year old 5'10" male weighing in at 150lbs. My goals are to reduce my weight to what it was at age 25(140lbs.), and to improve my cognitive functions as much as possible. This book is sure to help. I highly recommend it to others.

A MUST READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR OWN HEALTHReview Date: 2007-10-07
In this book you'll find awfully interesting, practical, explanations and a simple how-to help yourself guide. Dr McCleary's book is easy and enjoyable to read, so much so that I gave it to my 12 year old with the warning: "This is the most important book about your health you can ever read." A few hours later she was saying, "You know, mom? If I load myself with candy bars this is what happens to my brain..." To say I was thrilled to hear my daughter talking about the effect of sugar overload is an understatement. Dr McCleary's book might well become the key to good health to today's youth and the starting point to healing and prevention for us, the middle aged.
Dr McCleary also has a web site with very good articles (www.drmccleary.com)

There are many practitioners out there working with color, and my sense is that this is the recovery of ancient wisdom that was lost to us at the end of the Atlantean period. New information is being revealed, though, to gifted healers like Alijandra, who are bringing forward this information so that we can all make use of it in our lives.
Healing with the Rainbow Rays is a clear, practical "How To" guide for starting to work with the healing properties of color in your own life. She covers a lot of ground in this manual. Topics covered include energy scanning, chakra balancing, dealing with psychic hooks (from other people,) working with sound and movement, the misunderstood "black" ray (too often abused by dark occultists and therefore earning a bad reputation!) the shadow self, advanced holographic healing, and more. The language of the book isn't so advanced that a 12 year-old couldn't appreciate it and put the techniques to practice. It's really a user-friendly type of book, accessible to all ages.
I found that I could enter into the material at the exact place that "synchronicity" guided me, getting right to work with some of the balancing techniques and grounding techniques she includes. There's a lot of great material here. Even experienced healers who work with other modalities will find something of use.
I'm sure you'll learn something interesting about the miraculous world of color from reading Alijandra's book. I know I did!
