A good, comprehenisve book for beginning pracititioners. Time well spent.

Henri Demaison's compilation of Spanish, French, and English aeronautical and aviation terminology appears to be about as complete as possible, albeit pricey. Modern as it is, however, it is limited to 13,000 words, all of which have the first letter capitalized, which may be confusing to the beginning language user (Are all the words proper nouns? No.).

The aeronautical professional will discover obvious omissions. As for terminology in this field, one would be better served (on the Spanish and English side) to utilize the 700,000 word resource of Lewis L. Sell "Espanol-Ingles Diccionario Tecnico". Sell's work, though dated, covers the gambit of the field.

For the beginner, I would recommend Demaison's "Complete Multilingual Dictionary of Aviation and Aeronautical Terminology." Its unique layout is easy to comprehend, and makes cross-lingual word-for-word comprehension simple.

I ended up having to buy this book twice. The first time I thought I had purchased the correct edition (the second edition). I was not too happy about that!

The information presented is "solid", yes, but its not at the depth I would have liked. A book like Evaluation in Organizations by Russ-Eft and Preskill, which I used in parallel to Evaluating Impact, contains much of the same information with a deeper explanation. Evaluating Impact does touch on the statistics used to analyze quantitative data but only at a survey level.

The book itself is not made very well. The choice of font and printing method makes comparing this to another text like comparing an old mimeographed page to one from a modern laser printer. Finally, the binding is poor and falls apart if you read it too hard; my copy is currently in several pieces from just one read through.

This book can be a real time saver and effectiveness enhancer for executives, profesionals and others looking for that next exciting opportunity in the Puget Sound area. It allows contacting headhunters to be a more productive task, as areas of focus are listed for each firm, along with contact information for submitting a resume by one of the many ways available (USPS, e-mail, fax and phone call). Like any directory, the information is dated before it goes to press, so expect changes. PS -- Don't relocate to here, as it really does RAIN ALL THE TIME!

It's ok but kinda dry. Had to read it for my sales (482) class at western. A lot of it is common sense. In a sense, the whole book is like a summary in and of itself

Generic text book MBA stuff. Simplistic but worth the purchase and a good leaning tool while stuck in traffic.

I took a College Sophomore class in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 1979, and the text was EXTREMELY dry and technical. However, it contained many of the ideas contained in the book being reviewed. Bridges has taken that dry, technical theory, re-written it in user-friendly language, and incorporated concepts from script theory (see Joan Atwood's highly repetitive but informative "Family Scripts") and from developmental theory (see Sandor Brent's very theoretical but informative "Psychological and Social Structures"). The result is a light, very readable book on how people handle change. For someone who has not studied psychology, much of the information will be new and helpful. For anyone in the field of psychology, and especially those who have studied industrial/organizational psychology and developmental psychology, there is nothing innovative here. There are lots of good quotes in the margins, and they might be the best part of this book.

Yes, this book has some very basic information on internet sites for the medical professional. However the author is British and the book is really more useful for the professional based in the UK. It does come with a helpful CD-Rom but it does not help you explore Cinahl and Medline and other useful sites for Advanced Practice Nursing or Med Students. If you are not an online beginner, you probably already know this stuff. For advanced help see your local Medical Library librarian.
