Excellent book. I read it in one day (unusual for me!) I used this book to help write a huge paper/do a powerpoint presentation in my philosophy of education class. Jesus was the ultimate teacher; many of the things brain research tells educators to do today, he was doing way back then.

Corporate university types should carefully read this book and apply all they can from it. Having been involved in several corporate university undertakings, in my opinion, what DAU accomplished is phenomenal and absolutely atypical.

It's amazing what some--SOME--companies have the presumptuous audacity to call a corporate university. DAU is the real thing. You've got to have the courage to make the tough decisions and take some very real risks; the wisdom, experience and intelligence to make the right decisions most of the time; the perseverance to carry through when the going gets rough--professional maturity and discipline. But don't take my word for it. Read the book. Measure your corporate university against the DAU. Judge for yourself.

This book grounds theoretical notions of chaos and complexity into the realities of learning and organisational performance. And does so with exceptional clarity. The author leads you through the concepts and applications of technical and classical chaos theory in a pragmatic way. I found the descriptions of the various models of learning (such as social, cognitive, behavioural etc, although concise, very informative. The topics of 'Chaos' and 'Learning' are brought together with practical examples and suggestions on how to lever new thinking to produce improved organisational performance. An excellent book that is full of content and helpfully chunks this into manageable sections and chapters. The chapter references are commendable.
