I found this book very helpful. Its approach was on the right level, professional and not too simplistic. I found what I needed to know about basic Excel within about 15 minutes and was able to apply it immediately to dealing with my data. Clear, concise and well written!

I love Stanley Bing and I throughly enjoyed this book. If you don't believe what he writes - look around your organizations. How many Executives develop an arrogance attitude, take 1 1/2 hour lunches, travel to look important. I love the Blackberry, you can make it look like you are working and off on vacation. This must be the season for these type of books, which are opening up the hidden agenda of Executives.

The Office 95 book is the best I have found! Having read many of the integrated Office 95 texts, this series, and especially this edition, stands head and shoulders above the rest. The language is accessable to all users. Hands on practice problems provide the user with actual practice using the material covered throughout the chapters. Various "tip boxes" provide interesting bits of information on a wide variety of Office extras. I would, and have, recommended this text to anyone wanting to learn Microsoft Office 95.

I was introduced to the Microsoft Office Guide when I became the Technology Teacher for 1st through 8th grades. The curriculm for 7th and 8th grade was to learn Excell and Access - which I had never used. Therefore, I opened the book, went through each step for both chapters on Database and Spreadsheet. The book was so well designed and organized in presenting and educating that I learned quickly! The material gave me a strong understanding of each program - so much so that people feel I have been working with Excel and Access for years (I was already strong in Word). This is a great book for people wanting to learn how to use the software (especially if you need it for upgrading your career!) Peons at the office can't find any motivation, since their leader does not care about them at all. All he wants is to make money. Charlos Gary is genius in showing this. Whether you are a lawyer, a reporter, or a health care professional, if you ever had an evil boss, you are gonna love this book. I respect talent, and Gary offers plenty of it in his cartoons. Mr. Jamison is the worst boss ever. Call your friends and co-workers! Tell them the good news. There's help out there. This book provides a clear and concise introduction to the legal aspects related to health care delivery. It is geared mostly toward the medical office professional but it has useful information for any health care provider. Two very nice features: 1. legal terms are defined not only in the text but also on the margins (one can quickly review them by just browsing through the book) and 2. issues pertinent to managed care and HIPAA are clearly marked throughout the text.

I find this book an invaluable source for defining the ethical requirements for legal assistants. It is a timeless source for what is important in the legal field for non-attorneys.

Initially, I was surprised by the fact that this text had not been reviewed but then I realized that it probably isn't easy to find unless you know where to look.
"Map Projections - A Working Manual" is, in my humble opinion, THE definitive reference for map projections and the author, John P. Snyder is the expert.

This text blends fascinating historical tidbits on each type of projection along with full coverage of the mathematics necessary to perform the projections.
From the descriptions of the projections to the mathematics required to perform the projections, the material is presented in a clear and concise manner.

The text starts with the general concepts of projections before proceeding with the discussions of the various projections.
For each projection, the author provides a summary, history and features and usage of the projection. It then provides the formulas for the sphere and ellipsoid as applicable.
Plenty of illustrations and tables.

It also includes a great pull-out wall chart of map projections (illustrations) with a summary of usage of each.
