Let me say that this book is a must have. I was able to reinforce information I already knew and learned things that I've never considered. In the end, they will be very, very, very happy and trust me, they will yearn for more.

Sex and the perfect lover, it is a fabulous book to read. This book does have delightful tips, and very well done Kama Sutra's illustrations.
The author relates her experiences of the Kama Sutra positions, Prolonged mental and bodily ecstasy easily kindled by lengthy stimulus on the sex organs.

I tried the techniques described in this book and ended up having the best sex of my life with my wife.

This book has the power to change your love life.

This book is for the sexually adventurous, lovers, couples and spiritual people who are willing to try all kinds of new things to improve their sex lives as well as their lives as a whole. This is a book about eroticism and how to become a perfect lover on the purest level.
I think a romantic vacation getaway should be planned and this book will be coming along; a second honeymoon to help us reconnect with my wife.

Okay, I'm being harsh, but as a caveat, let me say that I am open to new ideas, especially in the bedroom...but...
Puh-leeze! I mean, I was laughing out loud at the ridiculosity of this book. The idea that a woman will be over the moon with a simple switch to some of these lame positions is just plain idiotic. Or, putting a red light bulb in a room - ooooohh, baby bring me back to those teenage years! These sort of recommendations would be fine if there were more content to back it up. However, the most I got from this book was the theme - get into the bedroom, take your time, appreciate your lover. If you need a book to tell you things like 'light a candle to set the mood', then this one's for you.

I gained absolutely NOTHING from this book.
::blows raspberries::

No need to wonder why this one's a best-seller.

The Kamasutra ilustrations are excellent. The author relates her experiences of the Kama Sutra positions, for that reason sound very real and exciting. Reading this book many of you will learn how to climax during intercourse, if you weren't able to before. Iam cover several techniques and approaches that may broaden your viewpoint and help you to become better in bed.

The territory it promises to cover is: how to stimulate a woman's G-spot, how to achieve multiple orgasms, and how-to Kama Sutra techniques. But Iam doesn't stop there; rather she intends to show readers how to make their relationships more sacred by making the sexual union more sensual. She also professes to help readers find and attract their soulmate. And therein lies the key to this tome. It's not just about having better sex, but improving your relationship with your significant other by strengthening and improving the sexual bond you share.

I Recommend this book its saved my marriage of the sexual routine.

Though there is a new book out by another author, this is still the BEST book on forensic art. Karen Taylor's expertise and vast knowledge of forensic art, combined with a well thought out and readable style, sets it apart from the competition. If you want to be a master of your craft you need to learn from the master. This is the bible of Forensic Art!

The Gashleycrumb Tinies is macabre yet hilarious. It's about children meeting untimely absurd demise but with a sense of dark humor. it needs to be taken the way it is meant. It really is quite clever with the wording and causes of death It is done by alphabetical names. examples are S in for Susan who perished of fits, L is for Leo who swallowed some tacks and N is for Neville who died of ennui(boredome). See very clever. By the way I am a 38 year old mother of two and find this hilarious. My kids don't really get it though. Oh well I geuss their sense of humor is not as developed as mine:)

Hilarious for ages 11+!

Hahahha I actually read this online because its so short... if you want to take a break from the stress of life for 10 minutes its great fun. The illustrations are very well done and the rhymes are genuis! i think my favorite kid is Basil who was assaulted by bears.. \hahhahhahha... that makes me burst into laughter again! seriously, if you like macabre hilarity, take a few minutes off and ENJOY THIS BOOK! (There is no graphic or adult images but the ideas would be very frightening for young children. I say 11+ because theres a girl with an axe in her head and some blood thats cartoonish but gross.)

A Spellbinding Book

Review Date: 2007-12-31
Alan Lee and Brian Froud's timelessly classic volume on fairies was published in 1978 to critical acclaim and instant popular success, making this enchanting book a must have for any child at heart. I know liking fairies is very girlie but I just can't help it! I love them oh so much and have since I owned Cicely Mary Barker's little "flower fairies" books as a young child. With its pencil drawings, numerous colour illustrations throughout and witty text the book is a pleasure to look at time and time again, one always discovers something new. This charming book dwells not just upon the innocent fairies but encompasses all the denizens of the world of faery from the sweet natured and gentle nature sprites to several of their much darker elemental cousins. Faeries is evocative of another era in time when people truly believed in fairies, elves, dwarves, brownies, hobgoblins and the like. Focusing primarily on the fairies and related creatures of The British Isles it is an eccentric and lovely journey into the Anglo-Celtic folklore of these green and verdant island nations. This collaborative effort by Alan Lee and Brian Froud is probably one of their most beloved books and one can immerse oneself in their imaginative world for hours, you really do lose track of time.

Although both artists careers have gone on to grander things like working as conceptual artists on big budget films and TV shows this first effort at the beginning of their careers stands as an enduring testament to their combined talents. The art of both men is quite different in style, character and tonal value but in Faeries they complement each other in an aesthetic marriage of shared vision and belief. Brian Froud after all these years is still thoroughly immersed in the world of faery with many books on fairies and goblins to his credit, like for example Good Faeries/Bad Faeries. He also went on to work in film as a conceptual artist, bringing his idiosyncratic and unique talent to bear on two of the late Jim Henson's fantasy films, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Alan Lee went off on a different course illustrating books on ancient myth and legend and perhaps painting his most famous book illustrations for the sweeping and elegiac novels of J.R.R. Tolkien. In recent years Alan Lee was hired to work on the film versions of The Lord of the Rings as the chief concept artist (along with John Howe) his work on these three groundbreaking movies gave them a credibility they might not have had otherwise.

But this wondrous volume is still for me one of their most outstanding achievements and although many such books were published in the 1970s, Faeries is definitely at the top of the heap. This sumptuous 25th anniversary edition of Faeries has eight extra pages with twenty new pieces of artwork and newly updated introductions so it is definitely a must have for the serious fairy lover and fan of the original book. I only ever owned the softcover of the original book... so when this special edition came out in hardback I rushed to my local bookstore and purchased it immediately. Mr. Lee and Mr. Froud implore us to believe in the world of faery once again, and to be honest in this sterile modern world it would be nice to believe it actually does exist. Sprinkle some fairy dust on yourself and go out and buy this entrancing book and bring a bit of glamor into your life!

To begin, the entire Amazon experience was great. The product itself was the icing on the cake. Any aspiring pilots, or veterans, should consider this a "must read" publication. It clarifies many misled bits of advice, about flight, and makes knowledge of aircraft easily understood.

This is a wonderful book, it's written for the Student pilot. But, it's a great read for all pilots. It covers the big picture and the little things that you may not think of, or may have forgotten. This book may help the new CFI to teach different techniques to the student pilot.

The book is Bible for understanding principles of flight and airplane handling.

Its real value could be experienced when lessons learned are properly applied in IFR flying.

A must read for your tail wheel endorsement.

Review Date: 2007-11-05
I am a 110 hour private pilot who just earned his tail wheel endorsement in a 1956 PA-18 Super Cub and "Stick And Rudder" was the best source of information on tail wheel flying that I could find.

In 1944 conventional landing gear (tail wheel) was the predominant landing configuration for general aviation aircraft. Part 5, "Getting Down" deals primarily with landing these types of planes. Specifically chapter 16, "The Landing" (I can't wait to do some more wheel landings after reading it; the
"Plaster It On" section was excellent), and chapter 17, "The Landing
Run," which discusses ground loops. The author refers to tail draggers as "directionally viciously unstable," which any modern pilot who has learned to land in a tricycle gear aircraft will understand intimately once he or she tackles their tail wheel endorsement.

I also found chapters 19 & 20, "The Working Speeds of an Airplane," and "Thin Air" exceedingly thought-provoking. I had read most of "Stick And Rudder" years before getting my private certificate and recently picked it up again to read it in its entirety. It was definitely worth my time and I got a ton more out of it this time around. Perhaps around 100 hours is a good time to read it.

Entertaining. Useful. You Don't Need It But Fun to Own!

This book is entertaining in many ways: like, if you consider some of the olde-worlde wisdom quaintly phrased, and the author's convictions, sometimes quite erroneous, confidently stated.

It is somewhat useful, as it does give some solid pointers about what to look out for (avoid) and what to do (technique) and what common pilot errors are, including some home-grown practical remedies and prevention.

When the author is writing based on his experience he is insightful, and you will gain a lot from his experience. When the author is trying to educate you on theory he evidently does not understand, he is not dangerous, but may leave you with the wrong idea about how things fly. For example, his vigorous dismissal of the fact that pressure differential between top and bottom surfaces wing causes lift, and his counter assertion that the wing stays up because it pushes the air down, is plain bull. The wings would then need to be at 45 degrees to the plane's longitudinal axis, and the airspeed would need to be humongous if that were true. Also, such a plane would never stall except at low speeds, and would be impossible to stall at high speed :)

The book is cheap. So, as long as you know enough physics to determine that the author does not, you will find value in anecdotal and experienced wisdom.

And, after all, you will own a classic that has fooled generations of pilots into buying it. I did.

I bought this book with the intention of using it as a "do it yourself" guide until I had some basic skills. At that time I intended to seek professional help. I was however, advised to find an instructor immediately. I checked around and found an individual with excellent references. He told me to bring some extra money on day one because there is a book he uses with all his students. You guessed it - "Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Complete Edition." I wish I could say that the book has made me the second coming of Jimi Hendrix. Not yet.

The CDs are stupendous. At first I wanted to use them as frisbees, but they are great for forcing you to recognize the rhythm and to "keep up" with it. It would be impossible to accomplish this quickly by seeing your instructor only once a week.

The large and varied collection of songs in the book is phenomenal. You find yourself playing recognizable tunes after mastering only two strings.

Highly recommended. A good instructor really helps too.

I teach beginner guitar to young students. This book is an excellent resource for them. It teaches the basics at a slow, steady pace which I've found to be highly effective over the fast paced books for children. It encourages students to learn to read music and learn the basics of music theory, equipping them to become musicians and not just guitarists. The CD's are added bonuses as a teaching tool!

I bought this to try and learn to play the guitar and so far have gotten through a couple of lessons. Sadly, I'm having trouble sticking to continue the lessons, but none of it is the book's fault.
The CD provides play along and really helps you understand. I however found the electric guitar harder to tell between notes, but I suppose I'll deliver a ear for it as time goes on.
If your to get 1 book for learning how to play guitar, this should be your first choice. Has almost everything that you could possibly need. I couldn't find scales, but I didn't look hard enough so they're probably already there.

I'm used to playing other instruments (Piano, trumpet, handbells, etc) where I am given the notes to play and play them. This book first teaches you the basics of music and which notes are on which frets of which strings. You start off playing melodies with the CD. It eases you into the chords, and for me, this makes it much easier to learn! I can get my calluses built up before I get into the tricky stuff. It also allows me to come up with multiple ways to play a song. I can't wait until I get through the book and can play with my friends!

Wow. I love Alex Ross, and he has soooo many beautiful pieces that they shouldn't have had any trouble finding classic, beautiful images.
This calandar is half filler. Some months are nothing more than pictures of toys based on Ross's paintings. That's ridiculous. I could have settled for the design art that the toys were made from, but I didn't buy a calandar of the artist's works to see lame products several times removed from the actual art.
High hopes led to great disappointment.

If you like Mitch OConnell or if you are into tatoos or illustration in general this is a great book. Tatoos have become pretty standard but these are a notch above the rest.

If I was being really picky, my only complaint would be that the line art is filled in with some shabby coloring. As if an intern who just learned to use a computer and gradients did the coloring. But I'm assuming it's to simulate the coloring in a real tatoo, so who really cares?

Good book.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!

Seriously, Mitch Oconnell is a great artist. This book is proudly displayed on my coffeetable. Everyone comes over and thumbs through its tantilizing images. I would recommend it to all the cool kids and art snobs!

Destined to be a classic

I bought this book at an art show - having never gotten a tattoo (at age 43) I decided to get page 112 on my right calf -- I've had a lotta fun with this book, it's a great start for people interested in tattoos (or just like graphic art, and want to check out the pictures!)

FANTASMARIFFIC!

bravo! kudos! amen brother! hip! hep! covering my body with mitch's tattoo designs would be better than covering my body with tattoos designed to look like psoriasis scabs.

Do not buy this book. Beware!

Mitch is a mean old man with a bad attitude. That's why his hair fell out. He misrepresents the art world by producing new and strange works that look nothing like everything else out there; not acceptable. The guy definitely has some mental problem, just go to his web site and take a tour of his `bungelow.' The book is produced with full color, high quality pages that can in no way be sold for the price that is shown. He must be up to something by trying to infiltrate your house, apartment, work,... with some sort of homing device imbedded inside. Once you buy this, you may want more. Stay away!
