This is an excellent resource for researching and critiquing the policy and process in adoption.

Well researched and well written. If you work in the field of addiction treatment you have an ethical obligation to read this book. If you are contemplating seeking treatment, you should know what you are getting. "Caveat Emptor, let the buyer beware" should be the warning posted at the entrance of most addiction treatment centers in the US. This book offers the most up to date research which strongly suggests that traditional treatment in the US maybe worse or no better than no treatment at all. It has chapters outlining effective alternatives such as Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Community Reinforcement Approach, and Social Skills Training. Frankly if you are an addictions professional in the US and haven't read this book or understand this material, you should read it or go get a job selling used cars.

I have read two books by this author:12-lead ECG interpretation, and Arterial Blood Gas Interpretation. I find these handbooks to be an excellent resource. I am a dean of an international medical school and have recommended them to our students as valuable references.

This book is a must read for counselors and anyone who is raising boys. It should be on every parents' and counselors' shelves for many years to come.

No need to wonder where he stands on an issue. He is not afraid to challenge the managed care power structure, nor is he hesitant to point out where anti-managed care therapists are misguided, at least, in his opinion.

How do I know all of this? Well, I have taught a doctoral level course in Managed Care and Brief Therapy for 9 years, and have adopted this book as a text for the course... it has been a great success.

This is the first book I've read on functional verification not to talk about whitebox/blackbox blah blah, but all useful and practical tricks/best practices. I've just finished a systemverilog DV project with Mike. I joined the project half-way. I would say it was so easy for me to pick up the verification code and got up to speed. Lots of the tricks talked in the book were applied to this project, such as the logging output format, irritator, the "dance", directory structure, listener connection... The environment was done in a very neat and adaptable way.

Personally I believe C++ is going to excel in the long run in the DV field. Because there is basicly no limitation on what you can do with C++. You have better control than with the current proprietary and sometimes arcane HVLs.

I highly recommend this book to intermediate to advanced DVer.
