Truly, it depends on your what you are looking for in the hot springs area. It is great in terms of what you can find in Montana and Wyoming, less what is available at the Yellowstone National Park, which is a bit odd to read. In any case, it has an abundance of detail about what is outside the park both in Montana and Wyoming. If you are looking for something outside of Yellowstone National Park, I do highly suggest this book.

I found this to be a well-written, fast-moving Western with plenty of action and interesting characters. I've only read a few of the Trailsman books, but this is one of the best so far.

Get this book if you like narrative, factual accounts of expeditions. This book includes two journals which detail the hardships and psychic rewards of mounting a University sponsored dinosaur hunt in 1895. Worthwhile reading for history and/or geology buffs.

This is like an encyclopedia and a yellow pages of Yellowstone in one volume. The book definitely is getting space reserved in the car for the trip. There are better books for planning what sites to see, but this one has the best accumulation of information about the park.

I am so glad this book was written. This is an important part of American history that all of us should know. Esther Morris went west and became part of the movement in Wyoming Territory to win women the right to vote and hold office. Then, to help solidify their position, she applied for and became a Justice of the Peace. She held this position until the next election. The book is more about the suffrage movement and its early beginnings in the American West than it is about Esther Morris' life. But, it's information I didn't know and now, would like to know more about. This will be a good book to read to students and a good lead-in to research more about this interesting topic. I like the illlustrations which enhanced the story.

Kerrie Kenndy and her family inherited a small ranch from an uncle they hadn't seen in 20 years. What was supposed to be a new start was fated with love, betrayal, fresh emotions and even raw passion and hatred. The Sabers ranched this land and took to their liking the small shack the Kennedy's intened to call home, when the owner left it twenty years ago. Elliot Saber built a his Circle S ranch with bare hands with the help of lifetime friend Jim. Only Elliots desire to build an empire would let no one stand in his way. He was driven to his soul and it could cost him his two sons lives; both sons would die to defend honor and Circle S ranch. The eldest son Damien was sensitive, a trait inheirited from his mother who died at childbirth she had been a fragil woman who couldn't handle hard work and trying to make her husband love her as much as she did. Damien was also the strong, desire driven son that worked hard along his father. Britt who's mother Elliot Saber had stayed married too was soon torn from comming from two different worlds. Britts mother, an indian woman, saw Elliot had no love to give anyone but to Circle S decided she would rather be back with her people then to not be loved by her own husband. So, she unselfishly went back to her brothers tribe and left Elliot to raise his two sons. Elliot showed them hard work and somehow disfunctial devotion drove them apart. But helping make a legend out of Circle S was the main focus on all three Sabers. So scarring off the Kennedy's was a minor problem, considering no one knew the limits the Saber's would go to put their threat in motion. The Saber's try to scare the Kennedy's to look elsewhere to "squat" but fate always rules and the two brothers fall for a Kennedy lady name Kerrie who would protect her father and family until no end. But without knowing a strong force would draw Kerrie and Damien together. There seemed no end to this war which was becoming violent; but passion and raw love kept these two fated people in love and war. Who would have known someone other would try to destroy both theirs and their families lives. Disaster strikes but honor, regret, forgivness, faith bind these families as one. Great book, read it in a day and hoping there might be a sequel.

Albeit is almost the same plot, love story, and thrilling part in the three books - "Hard Evidence", "Vendetta" and this one the story is quite good to read. If you don't want to read almost the same story thrice just keep some time between books.

Great photos leaving you wanting more or actually quit work and spend a whole summer backpacking the range and taking your own pictures. Anybody who loves the Wind Rivers will like this book. Not as good as Joe Kelsey's "Wyoming's Wind River Range" photo book (I believe out of print) but still a good one to add to your collection on the Wind Rivers.

Another issue that has bothered me about the series is that we are in book 6 and the baby that Hannah found she had conceived in book 1 has yet to be born. It is annoying how slow the pace of the books are, and even though they are adding new storylines and characters in each book - it would be nice to see Hannah's storyline developed and moving forward. However, I am still giving it a 4, as I have enjoyed the books, and am moving quickly through the series.
Book 6 deals with an influenza epidemic hitting the fort, town, and Crow Indian villiage near by, and the worst weather to hit the area in a generation which makes getting much needed food and medical supplies impossible. I found the book to be well-researched and enjoyed some of the history behind it - i.e. the medical proceedures used in treating the epidemic, the way the indian village contracted and treated the 'white man's disease', the rationing of food, etc.
This series is definately worth the read, as it is hard to find good Christian fiction. I would recommend these for a light read, however, or for a Youth in your life. They remind me a bit of the historical Christian fiction written by Janette Oke (Love comes Softly, etc.), though I enjoy Mrs. Oke's books a bit more as her's have a quicker pace and more realistic conversation.
