Miles Potter takes the reader on a historically accurate and very intriguing journey through Oregon's Gold Rush Years. Mr. Potter discusses not only the gold mining history, but how these events influenced the development of Oregon, and helped shape it into the state that it is today. Mr. Potter's only omission is that he gives just a passing mention to the minor Central Cascade Mountain Range gold strikes. However, the book more than makes up for that by it's excellent coverage of the major gold fields. Excellent Reading for anyone interested in History or Mining.

Anyone who lives in Oregon Illinois or the vicinity will love this book. Anyone who loves history and wants a glimpse on what it was like years ago will also love this book. The pictures are great. I would highly recommend this book.

Without a doubt the most complete study of the wreck of this GUION/CUNARD passenger liner yet written. The book covers the ship's history from cradle to grave describing the reasons for her building, her transatlantic records as well as newspaper accounts of her sinking. Complete stats of the ship are listed along with the history and experiences of the many divers who have visited her over the years. Profusely illustrated with drawings and photos of artifacts recovered,the book is a must for the serious wreck diver--The Oregon is truly one of the East coast's best wrecks.

This book is, by far, Steve Terrill's greatest achievement. Over a decade of photographing the most beautiful places in the state of Oregon culminated in this outstanding work. While Terrill has continued to publish many books, this one is something he will likely never match, simply because this book contained the creme de la creme of his work. With all due respect to the great Ray Atkeson, this is arguably the greatest scenic book ever published on the state. Published in the hey-day of Westcliff's state based themed books, it was a standout then. It's a real shame it's no longer in print.

This is one of my fav. books! Its GREAT! If you like romantic books this one is the one for you. I coulden't put it down! You should read it!

I think this book is well layed-out, and easy to read. It is also full of examples from companies you know, and deal with. Lots of graphs help to illustrate the ideas, and relationships.

Outlasting the Trail: The Story of a Woman's Journey West Excellent. So real that I felt like I was right there watching Mary and her family during each crisis and each small joy. Including and using Mary Rockwood Powers' own letters for this story created the sense of being there with Mary and her family. The story tells of what is required of Mary and the choices she must make to keep her family safe. These real letters to her mother reveals Mary's inner thoughts and factual happenings. Mary's faith in God and her mother's love keeps her moving forward regardless of her own fears and despair. I cared about this family as if they were my own ancestors.
