Just got this book today. It's about time this info was etched on recycled paper using soy based ink! Great overview and detailed pictures. Makes me wish I lived in Montana again! It is entertaining enough to read just for fun, but informative enough to use as your exclusive climbing guide to the area. Way to go, Snake!

I couldn't put this book down. Anyone who has longed for an object of desire -- whether it's another person, a hand-carved guitar or a wilderness that is pure and uncomplicated -- will love this book. Soderlind manages to turn upside down all our preconceived notions about love, the wild west (there were bankers there?), the counterculture that has been asleep for the last 30 years and even the virtuous newsroom. Chasing Montana is funny (I never knew an elbow could wreak such panic) while looking deeply into our shared but excruciating aloneness. A great read.

Chip the Buffalo is an entertaining story with some of the most amazing pictures I have ever seen in a children's book. Whether you are five or ninety-five years old you will want to own this book. It includes some very interesting and enjoyable facts about buffalo and about Montana. It is a perfect book for any classroom. If you like to read to your children or have your children read to you I would suggest reading Chip the Buffalo.

I THOUGHT THE CLASSIFIED CHRISTMAS WAS WRITTEN REALLY WELL. THERE WERE SOME THINGS THAT I KNEW WOULD HAPPEN, BUT THERE A CURVE BALL OR TWO THAT CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THE BOOK, B.J DANIELS IS AWESOME I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE WHOLE WHITEHORSE MONTANA SERIES. THE DRAMA AND TRAUMA THAT THE MAIN CHARACTERS MUST ENDURE IS HEART BREAKING, BUT IN THE END IT MAKES THEM STRONGER.

Although this book was written in 1872 is is full of very practical gardening ideas. Its focus is the style of gardening known as the Cottage Garden. and informal planting of all manner of plants, not formal beds. In addition it is a pleasure to listen to the voice of long ago.

For what it is, this book is excellent. No other guide of the mountains of Montana (with the exception of regional guides such as those for Glacier National Park) has ever been published. This book had one printing in 1986 and has never been reprinted, therefore, it is fairly rare to find for sale used (I found one copy after a couple of years of looking). It gives ratings on 1150 peaks, some of which contain extensive route descriptions, some of which are simply stated "SE ridge" or similar. It has helped me get a quick overview on a lot of different routes in Montana. -D Greaser.

The Compleat Gardener truly lives up to its title and is a highly recommended and "reader friendly" resource.

I have read this book and it is a diary of a woman who discovers herself while also becoming the first woman to complete this trek. She is an amazing spirit and everyone who meets her falls completely in love with that spirit. She is an inspiration to all who ever doubt themselves, to let go of the bad thoughts and go with the good in you and you shall succeed. Long story short ----- Worth the read.
