Antill and Woodhead clearly expose the step-by-step development of PERT/CPM in a way that the technique can be easily understood. Classic examples such as the construction of Sidney Opera House highlight the applicability. The chapter devoted to acceleration is a must.

As any book from the 60s, computational tools are not addressed, but it is not a problem. The point is that this highly recommendable book is to be read to those who want to master the fundamentals of CPM.

I was delighted by Anne Birrell's book "Popular Songs and Ballads of Han China" when I first read it. The author was well informed of the current progress in related studies by international authors and their Chinese counterpart. I found the translation of 77 carefully selected ballads particularly useful for both experts in sinology and general, non-expert readers interested in but less familiar with the topic. Despite a few necessary errors (or points of controversy) in interpretating the original text, I'd say this book is a remarkable achievement. It's my pleasure to recommend this book to my fellow Chinese readers since I find a refined foreign mind often surprises me with pleasant insight to the topics in concern.

This is one of the few books written on the subject of fuzzy statistics, a good source of info. for anyone researching on this topic. Save time, there are so few if any books on this subject as clear (or available) as this one.

In reading the book I find the outline to be well organized on tasked subject. The authors are considered experts in the field of Six Sigma and particularly respected in the emergent area of DFSS. The authors have suggested a treatment based upon a good foundation on the subject and followed by a very complete introduction of Six Sigma tools. Subsequent to the tools presentation, there are several applications to the service (transactional) and manufacturing industries that include case studies.
I believe this book to be important for two reasons. First of all, this will be a very comprehensive presentation of Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC and DFSS) as suited to simulation applications in a very integrated format. In addition, this book is a model of Six Sigma application for broad and important transactional-based process industrial arenas, service and manufacturing. The application of simulation-based Six Sigma and DFSS in several industries is a very important area for new product and service development and will significantly benefit from the integrated application of Six Sigma methodologies.
The manufacturing and service industries will both benefit from this manuscript, in particular companies that are relatively new in their implementation for Six Sigma and who just discovering the value of prevention in new product development (DFSS opportunity). Dr. Basem Haik is one of a very few practicing professional that possesses expertise in the area of `concept optimization' and the only one I know of that has authored books that treat these development methodologies in a truly integrated fashion.
I highly recommend that this book for any practioner in the area of Lean Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma.

"Simulations" is an unique variety of stories for the computer generation, featuring authors such as William Gibson and Ray Bradbury. Anyone who is interested in virtual reality should get their hands on this book.

I have happened to read this book. Its one of the best available in the market. Its an excellent effort from the author to bring out this kind of solution to such a major industrial problem.

Gives an excellent view of the state of the art in behavioral synthesis. At DAC, I saw many folks from companies that sell behavioral synthesis tools buying this book. The book is very useful for anyone designing beh synthesis tools and talks about a parallelizing compiler way of doing things.
