I am a simple man. And when I read a story, I would like to have the entire story before me, and not be forced to go to the internet to find the rest of it!!!!!!!
This volume, incredibly, omits the third and final chapter of "A Jolly Corner"! It was an intersting experience, accidentally, because reading it without the last chapter made one confront the basic construct of the tale. It seemed incomplete after chapter two, but complete after chapter three. What was the missing element? The female character of absorption and empathy. So, I am glad that the compilation is a complete disaster, as it forced me to confront what this particular short story is really about: female human-ness vs male ego driven self-delusion.

"Washington Square" is the only truly great work in the collection. I loved it.
I rate it a one because surely a person can read these stories on the internet in their complete form.

This study guide is a waste of money. Learn from my mistake and save your money. This has mostly test taking strategies. I am sure most people know how to take a standardized test by now, especially if they are going to be a teacher. The online study guide from the state prepares you more for the exam than this product.

Outlines & Highlights for Cheap Amusements: Working Women and Leisure in Turn-of-the-Century New York by Peiss, ISBN: 0877225001

There are only seven pages of text in this so-called outline; all the rest are BLANK with lines for notes. It's not an outline of the book but only a list of phrases from the book with definitions that come straight out of Wikipedia. Turn on your computer, go to Wikipedia, and save $10. Better yet, read Peiss's book.

This book is nothing more than a glorified business dictionary that instead of being organized alphabetically, it is arranged to follow the textbook's introduction of new terms. Unless you are a complete neophyte to business or entrepreneurism, don't waste your money on this book. My first clue should have been the cover: "New Venture Creation: Entrepreneurshp [sic] for the 21st Century" The publishers of this book can't even spell or proof their own work! The supposed Cram101 "Learning System" is misleading. There are no "notes and highlights" on the left hand pages, only words and definitions. They have not distilled the essence of the chapters or put anything cohesive together. What I expected was a Cliffs Notes type guide with chapter summaries, analysis, and definition of terms.(Remember those awesome yellow and black striped booklets your English teacher threatened to fail you if she caught you with one??)
I cannot emphasize enough: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!

I gave my phsyics teacher money for this book becuase i was forced into buying it. Very confusing but it explains what i need to know, i think. What is the point? How will i know if i am right or wrong and if i understand the book unless i have answers? Who would sell a math book without answers? I hear they have an answer book so i went to ask my physics teacher if i could buy it. He laughed and said it is only available for teachers. Well then why doesnt my teacher explain the answers or hand them out. I am also concerned that Prentice hall should distrubiute or sell the answer book to everyone.

Not really sure why someone uploaded a picture of the CD when this is really about a book. If someone could tell me where to find the CD on Amazon...

Anyone who has read Asch already knows far, far more about him than this article can tell them. You will not learn ONE THING that you could not have found from Wikipedia or some other free source or do not already know. Very disappointing and no way is it worth spending money on. One gets the feeling that the author did not attend the conference nor even read RECONSIDERED.Rip off.

This book is old, and you probably won't ever look for it...but I had to write a review. This book is nothing more than a list of episodes of TOS, TNG, and the movies up to ST:V. There is NOTHING of interest in the book, and what quotes and non-episode info there is has been taken off TV interviews or TV Guide.

Worst of all, the authors comments about ST:TMP are almost laughable if you watch the documentary in the directors cut.

So, if you happen upon this, avoid it like a Rigelian Blood Bat!
