This book offers a complete and informativeview on design drawing. It is perfect for the aspiring *or veteran* architect and/or interior designer. Thorough explanations of perspective and light and tone have helped me in painting and printmaking as well. This text covers multiple point perspectives, interior perspectives, tonal interest and light, and drawing textures, figures, and composition. Very helpful and informative. A good buy!

Seven Top artists show you how to paint their original designs. Not only do you get to see their works, you get a blurb about the artists themselves. It is always interesting to learn about the person behind the work.

A center pull-out section contains the templates of the designs the artists are sharing. The themes range from cats, dogs, butterflies, flowers, a clock and general interest.

The instructions for each project contains a list of colors used, the brushes you will need and the surface that it is done on. How you should prepare the surface for painting is given and then step-by-step instructions for completing the project follow with color photos. Some even have graphic photos of how to create the correct brush strokes.

Whether you want a snowman for wintertime or a butterfly for summer, this book will help you create a wonderful item (clock or painting) for your walls.

Lots of ideas! The book shows all types of cards and tags using collage effects. Scrapbookers and altered book artists will have a head start with their supplies to make many of these. It makes use of all sorts of bits and pieces (cardstock, beads, stickers, decorated paper, buttons, text from books, etc.).
Each example includes a full page picture in color, and a page listing materials and step-by-step instructions to create the card or tag. There are all occasions, like birthdays, halloween, winter, love, new baby, thanks, etc. It will keep me busy a long time trying out the different techniques and ideas.

Originally published in the UK, with their usual flair and attention to detail. There are some stunning outfits in here, and I was very impressed with how contemporary they look. Someone make me that jacket, please!

Tons of illustrations and photos from all angles. Also exact patterns, recommendations for material, etc.

Out of print and scarce. Slightly oversized, and pages are crisp matte coated to last, attractive. 144 pp. Highly recommended.

This is the most complete and practical drafting text book that I have ever read. Not only does it illustrate excellent drafting styles and techniques, it also provides step-by-step instruction on how to create each kind of projection. I believe it raises the bar to all other books exploring this same topic. In my opinion, this book will eventually be included in all classes that prepare students for a professional technical performing arts career.

First of all, let me say I bought this book for 50 cents at my local public library. It's out of date in a cultural sense, the drugs of choice change, and new ways of making and marketing them have come about in the last 20 years. If that doesn't bother you, though, and what you want are facts about designer drugs (Synthetic Heroin, Crack, Meth, Ecstasy, and PCP), this book is amazing. (Would I be writing this review otherwise?) The interviews with people at all levels of the problem--users, dealers, chemists, DEA agents, cops, doctors--are very real and very interesting. Rarely will you find an author who will sit down with people engaged in an illegal activity and have the guts to ask the questions that nobody wants to ask, and get the answers that everyone should hear. Most of our culture and our kids only hear the law enforcement side of the story, and by the time they are of prime drug-using age, the cops are the ones they want to listen to the least! To hear users and chemists talking about the costs as well as the benefits (if you could call them that) of using drugs is an entirely different thing. I'm not a drug user, I'm not interested in being a cop, and I don't plan on making this a part of my life. But I do feel that I am a better informed person as a result of reading this book. And that is saying something.

This is a good, moderately humorus book about making and building your own furniture. It starts with a very basic box that you build with plywood and cover with laminate, and moves on, using that simple concept, to beds, tables, kitchen cabinets, and so on.

It is an older book, so sourcing the materials he used has been a little interesting, but some of the companies are still in business.

The furniture looks a lot like Ikea furniture, which I love, but sturdier and, of course, you build it yourself.

It's simple, doable, practical, and the furniture was REALLY nice.

Designer Jewellery with computer softwar

When I first received this book order I skimmed through it and put it aside because it wasn't what I had expected. I recently picked it to file in my library and got distracted really studying it. Its now on my work table.
When I originally ordered it I think I was distracted by the cover - was thinking of purses and purse patterns versus fabric manipulation techinques. I now have made a list of the techniques in the book and hope to do one a week for about half a year (I don't plan on doing the knitting items...there were several I believe). Elli covers different ways to dye/color fabrics, decorate fabrics, resew a different way, etc. And there are about a dozen PROJECTS also where the reader can implement several of the techniques being taught in the book.
The reason I don't give it a 5 is that I wish that there were a few more projects for items pictured in the book...there were several great vests (basic pattern was included) but not always a detailed explanation on the techniques used in all of them. (But then again, I might not have read deep enough so they might be there.)
