This book challenged me in many ways. The Handshape Sign Book itself, along with this puzzle book, is proving to be a very valuable asset. If you want to move forward with your signing, this will indeed help you do so. It's difficult to practice alone, but this book helps you do this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, as is the case with all of Linda Lascelle Hillebrand's books.

As a Reiki Master who practices Shamanic soul retrieval, I find that every card a client draws has just the right information to help with issues brought forth from the session. The information on each card rings true from the psychological standpoint, angelic information and common sense. You can't ask for a better guide to help yourself awaken to the eternal loving compassion within. You may use the cards as a Tarot spread; or draw one singly as a daily guide.

This is the heavenly tarot with directions for inner growth

If you want to do the inner work, these cards can help you to unite with the angelic presence within you to access guidance from realms of the heart. Kimberley has drawn wisdom from her own spiritual unfoldment and has mastered the understanding of healing the inner passages that allow deep connection to our eternal selves. This is by far, the most cohesive and timeless information available for our human development. I would invite all to see for themselves, by using the cards daily for inspiration and intuitive understanding of one's own direction.

Everyone should own a copy.

Angel Blessings is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read. I work part-time in a bookstore, so there is great availability of reading material for comparison.

Marooney channelled for 44 different angels and there is none of her own ego in this book. Just the angels' words. She is clear in the beginning of her book to advise you to insert your own spirituality (since the book is written from a Christian's standpoint - but that is what she is), so those of other religions need not be "turned off" by the content. The message is what is important.

The book comes with 44 beautiful cards of angel art from throughout the ages. She offers several spreads and I have obtained information from my readings _every time I read_... What comes from this book is perspective about your own self and the situations in your life.

Please buy this book - it is a book that keeps on giving...

This arcane handbook brings you lots of wonderful spells, all in the line of the Arcana Evolved/Unearthed, with the unique flavour and rules-application that only the guys at Malhavoc's can make.

All spells come with great descriptions, heightened, diminished and other metamagic effects, including some True Name features.

¡I assure you'll enjoy it!

Worth every cent of it

Indispensable addition for Arcana Evolved

This book adds hundreds of new spells to the already impressive list from Arcana Unearthed and Evolved. For D&D players, many will seem familiar, but there are also plenty of new ones. Even the familiar spells are tweaked somewhat, with new names sometimes, and added heightened and diminished effects. The only problem you might have with this book is the overwhelming number of options. There is a extremely handy .pdf that can be downloaded from Monte Cooke's site that lays out all of the new and old spells in a single comprehensive list. After using this variation of the core d20 spell system, you'll never want to go back to the old Fireball, not after seeing the equivalent spell of Sorcerous Blast.

If you like to solve anagram puzzles, you'll love this book !!!
It offers a new twist by providing both cartoons and words as clues.

This is not your typical "words only" puzzle book.
The answers to the puzzles are extremely clever and often humorous.
I found it to be challenging and entertaining!!

I highly recommend this book.

This book of clever anagram puzzles is a must for scrabblers, crossword addicts, and anyone else obsessed with language.

The book contains illustrations. Each illustration can be described in two ways, each way an anagram of the other. Polsky gives you one anagram. You solve for the other. The linguistic challenges range from simple to maddenningly difficult. The answers are always amusing.

The book is a new word game that is both absorbing and satisfying.

Caveat emptor: This is a challenging puzzle book.
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-05-11
This is one of the greatest chess puzzle books, but be forewarned; it's also one of the most difficult. Some of the puzzles have easy to see white to move and mate in three, but can you find the mate in two? The whole book is "white to move and mate in two," and the puzzles are culled from award-winning puzzle competitions. My only potential complaint is that sometimes the position of white is unbelievably secure and racking your brains for a victory in two moves seems pointless, but they are puzzles that are guaranteed to pull you back from the vices developed from internet speed chess. This is why we need more books like this.

This little book collects 125 (orthodox) chess problems/puzzles/brain-teasers. Each of them was extracted from actual game play in history. Every problem has a chess diagram and comes with the question "white to move and mate in two." I personally found solving those puzzles both challenging and fun. Solutions and hints can be found on the last few pages of the book.

This little book almost has it all, from the basics for beginners to the modern advanced concepts (especially related to doubling) for advanced players. Much of the advanced discussion is found elsewhere only in advanced (and pricey) books. All interspersed with personal anecdotes and historical development to make it all come to life. So much in one book makes it a great value and a book I would recommend to players at any level.

This is the best book that I have read on backgammon for several years. It is an excellent introduction for beginners and a great aide for intermediate and advanced players. It is far better than the book with a similar name from the 1970's.

Sue Wilkowski's THE BAD LUCK CHAIR tells of Allison, who one day finds everyone standing by her desk, and discovers the infamous school Bad Luck Chair is about to become hers. She seems doomed to be cursed forever - but some secret Chair information helps explain how to reverse the curse - and Addy may be the only kid who can stand up to it. Hilarious fun ensues.

As one who also tried to avoid a creepy desk chair @ my elementary school, this title drew me in; but fabulous story telling made it a winner for the two neices & a daughter's friend whom I bought copies for! All 3 girls (ranging in school grade from 3rd to 6th) read the book repeatedly, finding lots of fun mystery & creative problem solving on the part of Addy and her friends.

My cousin Michael and I played this book at a recent family get-together and soon everyone was paying attention and helping us keep score. We actually tied but have planned a Thanksgiving rematch with the whole family. This book is easy to play because there's no big board or pieces to set up; you just pass the book around. Great fun!!

A must have for any King's Indian Player

I love both sides of the King's Indian, and nothing frustrates me more than to have white avoid it with some offbeat system, such as the Torre or London. This book does an outstanding job of showing black how to handle these offbeat openings (which are showing up more and more often in tournament play).

Excellent book

Review Date: 2005-07-28
I found in this book everything what i need to know to face White's methods of avoiding the main lines of the KID.
Gallagher's method is to select and recommend one main defense for Black against White's so-called "anti-King's Indian" systems. The author examines and recommends play for fifteen variations:

(1) Four Pawns Attack [6...Na6]
(2) h3 systems [6...e5]
(3) Averbakh[6...Na6]
(4) Early Bg5 [...c5]
(5) Exchange variation [9...Re8 and 13...Nd7]
(6) 5 Bd3 [6...Nc6 and 7...Nh5]
(7) 5 Nge2 [...a6 and...c6]
(8) Miscellaneous unusual lines
(9) Trompowsky [2...Ne4]
(10) Torre Attack: 4...0-0
(11) London System [...e5]
(12) Fianchetto Variations [Pirc-style set-up]
(13) Veresov: [3...Nbd7];
(14) Barry Variation (1 d4 Nf6 2 Nf3 g6 3 Nc3 d5) [...c5]
(15) Blackmar-Diemer Gambit [Euwe Defense, 5...e6].

According to my Fritz Powerbook 2005 reccomended variatons scores wery well for Black in practical play. The analysis are surprisingly original and thorough.
This book is a MUST HAVE for any KID player. In fact, it will be useful to most players who reply to 1 d4 with 1...Nf6.

Excellent for KID players and all 1. d4 players
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2003-06-17
This entertaining and well-written book should have a large audience, as a huge percentage of chess players play king's indian systems all the time with black. This book pretty much describes everything white will throw at you (other than most traditional king's indian lines), including Torre Attacks, Trompowskys, Veresovs, Averbakh, Four Pawns (those last two are the only regular king's indian lines given), Barry Attack, London System, Blackmar-Diemer, and others. The book has lots of explanatory text and twenty-nine annotated games flesh out the main ideas. It is a repertoire book, meaning that the book focuses on recommended lines for black. Burgess' writing is, as always, clear, entertaining, instructive, and witty. The Batsford production is excellent. A fine chess book.
