This story has a great moral to it as well as being very entertaining and interesting to both children and adults. The plus side of the cassette is that Jack Nicholson tells it in such a way that everyone will enjoy listening to it over and over again. The illustrations are perfect to fit the story and are great at intriguing the children. We have had this story through both of our sons and they both STILL enjoy this book. Hopefully will pass it on to the grandchildren. Tell your friends and family about this one.

This book-tape set has to be one of the best books on tape that rabbit ears has produced. Jack Nicholson's smooth magical voice is just perfect with predictably great music from Bobby McFerrin. A must for every child's library!

A BIG board book

I ordered this book because my 18-month-old daughter loves "I am a Little Duck." Both books have beautiful, detailed pictures that are fun for my twins to look at alone or with me. There are lots of familiar things to look for and label. For toddlers who are newly in love with "big" books, these are an ideal choice: they are picture book size, but have sturdy board book pages that stand up to the rough handling inevitable with young toddlers.

This book has beautiful illustrations of rabbits in their natural environment. The rabbits along with several other animals (birds, cows, ladybugs, and several others...) illustrate other animals that live outdoors and aid in helping children learn new words. My son who is 2 years old now picks this book up often to point and name all the animals.

My daughter has such fun with this book! Each night when we read it at bedtime, she looks under the flaps and giggles as if we were reading it for the very first time. I would definitely recommend this book to all parents of preschoolers.

Eric Inglis' commentary demonstrates a concerted effort to produce a detailed analysis of the artistic milieu which created this beautiful work of art. The commentary also provides a basic background to those who are new to such works of art. Readers interested in medieval art will find this a wonderful introduction to a facet of the medieval book arts.
