From the moment I began to read Tory Lynn's "Message Board Romance" I knew I wouldn't be able
to put it down until I finished the entire story.
The author has a special way of getting the reader to feel each person she has created. It
gives the reader knowledge that anything is possible as long as we don't give up. Sometimes
we are dealt sad situations in our life, but if we hang in there and believe we will be given
our tomorrows in abundance. A Message Board Romance shows us that romance lives on.
A must read for everyone I know!

I was attracted to this story because it was very familar to me. I checked out Tory Lynn, and I was right. We share the same publisher so I was eager to purchase and read this story.

I was very impressed with the entire story. Ms. Lynn is a talented writer, and I can't wait to read more of her work. Finding love on a message board is interesting, and the twists and turns of this story was even better.

Excellent!

Healthsouth has become, in the mind of the public and media, synonymous with Enron and Worldcom. But the true story is much different. Rather than collapsing into bankruptcy, Healthsouth has survived and is flourishing under new management.
Dr. Cast tells the story of Healthsouth through its troubled times in 2003 through the recovery in a well-written readable style. But the most important lesson in this book is how a few investors (myself included) made lots of money by looking beyond the media reports and sharing information online that was not being disseminated through any other media outlet. The real story here is one of individual investors beating out the so-called experts at their own game. While this was a unique situation, some would call once-in-a-lifetime, every individual investor should be prepared to take advantage of a similar situation. This book should be required reading for every investor.

An excellent read!

A great chronicle of the rise-fall-rise of Healthsouth and the Yahoo message board investors who stood together to weather the storm and prosper.

A must read for those interested in massive corporate corruption, narcissism, fear, intimidation and greed.

SEC investigations, FBI raids, suicide, taped conversations, rogue bondholders and cooked books are some of the ingredients of this true story.

Dr. Cast never cease to amaze me with his diversity, resilience, eccentricities, and good humour. I suppose that's a
roundabout way of saying that as an author he is as captivating as he is an outstanding fellow human being.

In "Going South, not only do you get an insider glimpse at the chronology of Healthsouth; You'll discover enlightenment aimed at keeping ahead of the curve in investment. The "How and Why things happen" and most important, the latest trends. Far more than a stinging exposi of corporate corruption ... The detail financial sections are templates to understanding how to become very wealthy.

"Going South" is one of the most compelling business books ever published a must read and add to your personal library.

Not just for missionaries, but also for any person concerned for historic Baptist principles of individual freedom, local church autonomy, priesthood of the believer, etc...this book is a welcomed contribution to Baptist understanding. If you feel uninformed concerning the controversy in the Southern Baptist Convention over the past couple of decades, the authors of this book speak from a broad range of experience and expertise to provide the troubling history and theology behind the "Fundamentalist Takeover." This volume is especially helpful for those wishing to gain a clearer understanding of the role of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 in the current politics of the Southern Baptist Convention. To read this book is to read the testimony of several of the most respected voices in moderate Baptist life. Highly recommended!

Insightful Book.

The book is a short compilation of essays on why missionaries shouldn't sign the 2000 BFM. This is a biased work definitely siding with those who disagree with the fundamentalist leadership and current direction of the SBC. I found the essays interesting and helped me see the greater controversy brewing in the SBC. The views expressed are more out of concern then judgment of other brothers and sisters in the faith. They want the reader to know why they are disagreeing with the leadership. I wouldn't call this book heresy or written by simple-minded liberals either. The authors have had positions of authority in missions and have experience on the mission field. Just because we disagree at times doesn't mean we should persecute our brothers in faith.

If you want to know why there is so much fuss about these folks over doctrinal issues and creeds then I recommend this book.

I have just plain had FUN using the Truth Fairy kit. For some reason anything that has lots of STUFF to it brings out the 10 year old kid in me and this kit has it ALL! Several beautifully decorated layout cards, a necklace/pendulum and book all in a cool box - I was in heaven! Of course, if you have a pendulum you are used to, give it a whirl with this kit. When I am not getting the answers I want by reading my cards, I alwats pop out the Truth Fairy and give it a go. Never has the Truth Fairy failed to give me the answer I need...even if it is "Maybe!"

"The Truth Fairy Pendulum Kit is imbued with the gentle Fairy wisdom that has guided all of us since we were children. If you loved fairy tales as a child and now need to know the truth about what is going on in your life and how to best deal with it, then you have come to the right place-the enchanted world of The Truth Fairy." -Monte Farber and Amy Zerner

Monte Farber and Amy Zerner are two of the world's foremost designers of interactive personal guidance systems, with over one million copies of their work in print. These legendary lovebirds, happily married since 1975, have added a new divination tool to their Enchanted World: The Truth Fairy Pendulum and Message Board Kit.

Amy is an award-winning collage artist who has designed this kit, including the Truth Fairy pendulum necklace and the twelve Magical Message boards. Monte's wisdom graces the pages, instructing and encouraging the reader on dowsing, intuition, Fairy Guides, and using the pendulum. Amy's beautiful collage art is featured on the twelve message boards, each dedicated to a particular Fairy and realm of inquiry. When you have a question, simply select the Magical Message board of the Fairy whose truth you feel is most appropriate for addressing your inquiry, and then that Fairy will guide your pendulum to the correct answer. The twelve Fairies are:

The Abundance Fairy - For questions about manifesting your hopes and wishes
The Enlightenment Fairy - For questions about increasing your spiritual awareness
The Banishing Fairy - For questions about letting go of toxic thoughts and habits
The Location Fairy - For finding something dear to you or where you should go
The Timing Fairy - For picking the best time for any action
The Joy Fairy - For lifting your spirits and helping you relax
The Success Fairy - For guidance on prioritizing the steps on your path
The Communication Fairy - For improving communications and self-expression
The Love Fairy - For questions about understanding and improving a loving relationship
The Courage Fairy - For using your strengths to overcome your fears
The Wellness Fairy - For questions about making the most of your health and vitality
The Creativity Fairy - For questions about focusing your talents in the best way.

The Pendulum Necklace is on a 19 inch black cord, and has a lobster clasp. The pendulum itself is very unique: silver in color, each side features an engraving of a Fairy. Approximately 2.5 inches in length, the pendulum has an intriguing element: a flip top lid which reveals a secret compartment! When asking about vitamins or herbs, for example, you can put an actual pill in the compartment when dowsing. Or, you can write your question on a slip of paper and slip it into the compartment before inquiring the Truth Fairy. Because the pendulum is on a necklace, you can take it with you wherever you go to use with, or without, the Magical Message boards.

The Magical Message boards come in a rainbow of pastel colors, with Amy's gorgeous collage in the center. Each board features four axes to discern the swing of the pendulum: Yes, No, Maybe, and Don't Know. In the corner of each board are four words, which provide another way of dowsing: point a finger on each word with one hand, and then dowse the answer with the pendulum. For example, if you wanted to inquire the Abundance Fairy, you could point to the words Invest, Save, Trade, or Change, ask your question, and then pay attention to which axis the pendulum swings (Yes, No, Maybe, or Don't Know). Or, if you were talking to the Location Fairy, you could point to the words North, South, East, or West. On the back of each board are five suggested questions to help you construct your question.

Also included in the The Truth Fairy Pendulum and Message Board Kit is a 48-page book which gives step-by-step instruction on how to use this kit to obtain answers to your questions-including how to phrase a question for optimal clarity-as well as how to use the common sense of the left brain in conjunction with the imagination and intuition of the right. Each Fairy has its own "bio", not to mention a special enchantment to help you summon a particular Truth Fairy.

Amy Zerner and Monte Farber's newest offering to the world is an excellent introduction to both the Fairy world and pendulums. I admit, I have had difficulty using pendulums in the past (much like Monte!), so I didn't know if this kit would work for me. However, as I read the Guidebook, I felt a spark of anticipation and connection-as if the Fairies were ready and willing to work with me to (finally!) be confident with pendulum use. I asked questions of the Timing Fairy and the Wellness Fairy. With the former, I kept getting "No" answers. I was a little disappointed at the repeat answer, wondering if this would be yet another pendulum "failure". However, when I asked several questions of the Wellness Fairy, I received specific-and varied-answers that confirmed what I had been feeling, and provided comfort that I was, indeed, on the right track. Not only that, the pendulum swung very robustly with some questions, but faintly on others-indicating, to me, the strength of the guidance itself (and how much I needed it!), as well as its importance to my questions.

I highly recommend this easy-to-use kit that will help you access your intuition, hone your discernment, and link you to the magical realm of Nature's (and your) cheerleaders-the Fairies.

Review Date: 2008-08-05
Just received this today and was pretty amazed at how easily it worked. I'm not really a skeptic, but it was kind of creepy and freaky. I found that it began to work immediately...I practiced deep breathing and chanted Om three times. Not too weird for me as I practice yoga. Then I recited BOTH rituals, just to be safe. As soon as my fingertips hit the Circle, my arm began to tingle and it started making small cicles. Thought it was me as it was mimicking my breathing. Then it started to point to things. I had only skimmed the booklet so the meanings of some things were totally not known to me. And they were dead on. Pardon the expression. It told me to Go East, where my 86 year old mother lives. Also told me that my hospital job is bringing me down and giving me Bad Karma. Which is also accurate as I've been thinking about 2 different career moves. I was also informed that my chronic medical condition will not go into remission and I'll never be "normal." Looking forward to trying it again, in spite of those things. Hopefully, my spirit-friend will be a help and not a hindrance.

I've tried this alone with an open mind on a couple of occasions. The indicator goes anywhere between my ten and two o'clock positions all the way to the words on the outside edges - never anywhere else. The problem might be that I'm not spiritual at all. I can't take those silly, opening, Wicca-inspired verses seriously, and I can only imagine that any wise spirits would find them laughable. I have to admit that it does seem to move all on its own, though - often before I've even had a chance to ask anything. When I consciously try to move it, for the sake of comparison, noticeably greater effort is required to do so. Perhaps the answer lies in the momentum created by the muscular twitching that begins when my relaxed fingers are barely touching the indicator.

Oh, well. I'm sure that whoever I give it away to will be suitably awed.

My friends and I have been using this Board for about 8 years now, We have replaced the board many times. due to it wearing out from all the use. It has been very education to us, We have learnt a great deal from the board, and it honestly does work! it seems to seat you according to your energy. I'm almost always set in the East. As with any board I feel you should respect the board and Spirits, not go into it joking and making fun of it. It also helps to have someone setting with paper and pen writing the answers it gives you, so you can read the answers after you ask it questions. you'll be amazed. I love this board and the enjoyment it gives and time spent with my friends.

Not A Toy

Review Date: 2008-01-04
I bought this board at Borders about 5 months ago. The design is beautiful, and the layout very easy to navigate. The only problems I have with the actual board is that the surface wears down really quickly. Mine already needs to be replaced, as the glass pointer doesn't slide as easily anymore, and the letters are almost unreadable. The other problem, from the beginning, has been that the board folds in twice, so there is a horizontal and diagonal deep crease that the glass pointer on occasion gets stuck on, and in the middle of an interesting experience talking to a dead relative, it can be quite annoying after a while.

The main reason I am writing this review however, is to give warnings.
If you don't know what you are doing, it is very VERY easy to unknowingly invite a very evil spirit into your home.

Evil spirits can and WILL pretend to be some distant, deceased, cherished relative. They will know things to make you really believe. If you are not careful they can put a spell on you (which is why I highly advise you to NEVER use the board alone).

The Evil spirits select someone from the group, isolating them until the person becomes the victim. I am not lying when I say that I had a spell put on me that lasted almost 24 hours. It was a form of hypnotism that made me act and believe in things that were just preposterous. I had banging noises in my apartment when I asked for a sign. I had sleep paralysis, I had a very eerie presence that made the place feel weird. I was confused and experiences very supernatural things that are really unexplainable.

The good thing is that after you catch on to them, the spell is broken. They have no more power over you. It is frightening to know that such beings exist, that hold no remorse, that only seek to make you weak, scared, isolated, confused, and emotionally broken. They want to you to be in hell like they are, at any cost.

Just be very careful not to take anything too seriously. If you are on the board long enough, eventually something negative will come up, whether it is that someone you love is going to have a heart attack, or that your child will be ill, or that your grandfather you thought was a great man was really a murderer and is now eternally in hell.

The problem lies in the fact that you REALLY DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO. Never believe any of the negatives, because they are mostly lies. Spirits, good or bad, are still the same as when they were alive. They do not have the answers to everything. A lot of what they say is an opinion, or an educated guess. Also, there are some things they are not allowed to share with us.

In my case, I started getting better and better with the board, to the point where I was finishing sentences in my head before it was even half way spelling out the sentence. Is it the chicken or the egg? How can they so thoroughly get inside my head? I say this because when I started using it alone, I would just silently ask the questions in my head, not out loud. Also, if I was disagreeing with something is was spelling out, it SENSED IT and CHANGED what it was going to say to match what I wanted or thought it should say.

I believe that at times I was speaking to my loved ones, but I got a very malicious, manipulative spirit that started to break in and taint things with his schemes. Part of the trick is to get you to pray more, to have more faith, get sucked into the otherworld more and more.

Once you invite in a evil spirit, simple praying and sage cleansing, or burning the board does not get rid of them. They get weaker, but it takes time. THIS IS NOT A TOY, do not use alone, do not take it to heart, do not believe any negative things (if your gut is telling you that something doesn't sound right, that it can't be true, chances are IT ISN'T). Be smart.

Another downside, I found, was that the reality that there are these beings around you all the time, never far from you, it kinda of makes you feel like you are never completely in privacy. I mean it's good to have grandpa watching over you, but I mean, at certain times you don't want to be thinking about that, if you know what I mean. ALL I am saying is, think before you open the pandora's box.

LOVE this board!

This board is very colorful and easy to use. Make certain to use a cleansing method before and after each use to keep all energies positive and of love & light. I find it helpful to use a lighted candle, water, stone and a quartz crystal in their respective corners. I also use a clear cut glass over the board for more effective use of the message indicator.

I must be the only parent on the planet not to like Eric Carle's books. I don't like his illustrations at all (see A FAIRY WENT A-MARKETING for some GOOD illustrations, imho!) & the story bores me to tears...that is, until the end when I see the present is a live puppy who has been waiting God knows how long in a cave to be found by the birthday boy--then I get mad...& what kind of message does that send to little ones about caring for animals? Anyway, I gave this 3 stars because my 2 year old does enjoy it alot & has memorized the shapes & has fun with it, but it leaves me cold...just call me the Grinch, I guess...

This book is an excellent choice for beginning readers. The story is constructed from very short sentences and the associated visual effects are colorful and based on shapes constructed from partial pages. It opens with a riddle that is a secret message directing Tim to where he can find his birthday present. That present turns out to be something that nearly all children wish for, so the trek is one that will interest most children. I strongly recommend it for all children who are taking their first steps in learning to read.

Prior to my grandson's 3rd birthday, I gave him several books about birthdays. This one was his favorite. He was immediately drawn into searching through the clues which use directional words such as below, behind . . . He was breathless to find the surprise at the end of the book. And I'm not telling what the surprise is;it's a secret. I will tell you that it's a gift that most every child dreams of receiving. Of course, Eric Carle's art work is magical. Make a child's day--give him or her this book.

Tim gets a message in code that will lead him to his birthday present. The code contains shapes, and the shapes correlate with cutout pictures of such things as the moon, a star, rocks, and a cave entrance. The cutout pictures half reveal, half conceal the pages behind it, as we fellow the code, a set of directional instructions: Below the star, behind the rock, down the stairs, up and through... After finding Tim's gift, first a pair of eyes but revealed to be a puppy, we are asked if we can find our way back. A map on the final page shows a spatial layout of all the previous instructions. At first I thought of this book as a single gimmick stretched, inflated into a full text, but it is actually more clever than that. It is a fun book that kids can quickly memorize and get the hang of, with the same fertile and detailed illustrations you are familiar with if you've seen any of Carle's books. But it is also challenging children to think through a set of instructions, think sequentially and directionally, then have to shift sets and run the sequence backwards. Good stuff, thanks Carle.

And who doesn't love a cute puppy?

A Who's Who and What's What of American Literature

Not the deepest book when it comes to literary analysis, but what this book promises it delivers. Every writer of American literature is covered with a short biopic that includes the high watermarks of his literary career. Every major work of literature is also addressed in its own entry, as well, but again, with little more than a basic explanation of plot and characters. If you need a quick reference for the authors of American literature, this will prove invaluable, but don't look to it for anything other than that.

Any book that has the words 'Oxford Companion to' as part of the title is entitled to a certain respect, for the title speaks of a certain level of quality that is hard to match. While there are better and worse Oxford Companions, the series as a whole is of very high quality, and the 'Oxford Companion to American Literature' is no exception. This book has a significant history of its own - the principle compiler, James Hart, began work on the first edition of this text in 1936; the first Oxford Companion to American Literature was published in 1941. It went through several revisions in Hart's lifetime; after he died in 1990, Phillip Leininger took over completion of this sixth edition, revising and expanding some of the entries.

In all, there are over 5000 entries, with 1100 of them being significant summaries of major literary works, figures, or other significant literary topics. Of these, 104 were added by Leininger after Hart's death, which shows the great amount owed to Hart. This sixth edition includes information up to 1993/94. At the back of the book is a chronological index of American literary history and American social history laid out side by side, from 1577 to 1994. This shows the overall growth of America as a nation as well as a nation of literary artists.

American literature is broadly defined for this text, and includes not only the typical literary arts of novelists, poets, and playwrights, but also autobiographers and biographers, historians, newspaper and magazine writers. The colonies of America often being founded by religious persons looking for freedom of expression, a source of the American spirit that has never dissipated, there are entries for many religious leaders in American history. While previous editions have included an entry on each of the Presidents, this edition is more selective, including the Founding Fathers and only those later Presidents who had a significant role either in eras of change or notable literary output of their own (U.S. Grant and his autobiography, for example). Entries for universities have largely been eliminated here, but much of the deleted information is duplicated in other entries.

Entries on poems discuss publication history, poetic structure, influences on the composition, and, if appropriate, narrative of the meaning - for example, there is a brief synopsis of the 'plot' of Edgar Allen Poe's 'The Raven'. Entries on novels are much more plot summaries, with little of this background information, save where the novel is truly unique in style. Literary schools and awards are also entered - awards often have listings, such as the listing of all Pulitzer Prize winners from 1917 of the various types of literature; American Nobel Prize winners are also listed.

This is not a companion to high-brow literature only - popular writers from Louis L'Amour to Anne Rice are included. One thing that is not included, perhaps because it stretches the idea of literary art a bit further than the Oxford Companion would have it, are comic strips, comic books and their characters. The book is not exclusively American in scope - some born Americans who left or moved citizenship (T.S. Eliot), and those born elsewhere who became American (Isaac Bashevis Singer) are included; movements and influences from abroad are included also. There are also entries for major Native American tribes and personalities of North America. This is very much a book of the United States - the term 'American' is used in this context, so Canadians are not a subject of this volume (not to worry - there is an Oxford Companion to Canadian Literature).

This is a very useful book, handy and accessible, easy to use, and thorough in scope.

This was a message from one "spirit." He said that it is a game for the dead, not angels, and if you wished to communicate with your angel, then to please try it through your dreams instead.

I recommend, "Ask You Angels" by Alma Daniel. It will take you through the necessary steps in order to truly begin to talk with your angels.

I am just going to comment quickly on how much of a rip off this particular site is. I have been looking to purchase this product and it is unavailable everywhere. This is the only site that has it and it a wopping $30 and USED!!!! for gods sake. Now I dont know about you but in Canada where I am this board goes for $17.99 at chapters brand spanking new. Why the hell would I pay $30 for a used board. All I wanted was this board for my mom and I who truly believe in our angels and have spoken with them many times. We've tried the board and it's worked well. We've spoken with our loved ones deceased and mended with them. I just want this site if anything to read this and see that its a major rip off $30..give me a break, you suck!

Truly a gift from heaven!

I have had "The Angels Talk" board for over a year and have never, ever had anything negative come through. It has provided me with guidance, knowledge, and insight into my purpose in life. The loving messages and answers to our questions have helped my partner and I grow spiritually. We have also helped people with it by helping them connect with loved ones who have passed on. It helps them to understand that they continue to exist after death and are deliriously happy where they are at. I can't stress enough the importance of starting with a prayer and calling on the angels of the throne of grace for protection before using this or any message board. As I said I have had only positive energy come through and have connected with only entities of the highest realms. I'm sure it makes the difference between a bad experience and a good one. Don't expect to have clear messages come through immediately. You must learn to open your conciousness, free your mind of clutter, and allow them to come through. It takes a little practice, and it helps if you have another person do it with you. I would love to talk to others who have had similar experiences. talkaboutangels@yahoo.com

Being a big fan of the Ouija board, when my friend told me about this book/game she had (Angels Talk), I was a little apprehensive. After using the Ouija for so long, I didn't know how I would feel about using a completely new source of communication.

I loved it. This game connects you on such a higher level with the spirits/angels. Though this game is out of print, I recommend trying to find one either here or eBay. It's much better than a Ouija board.

Keep in mind that, if you have a positive attitude for playing, you will receive positive answers. And read the book before playing, don't just dive head first into it.

It will change your life...for the best.

Three Years and Nothing but positive results.

I bought "The Angels Talk" nearly three years ago, after I had a
premonition I could not explain. I have been able to contact my Angels and a few others' as well. Every thing they told me has come true, in fact, they answered by telling me the answers to thoughts my friends and family had with out my knowing. It wasn't until I told them their answer that they admitted to thinking or "praying" the original questions.. this blew me away.
If you have any doubts that the angels MAY be fallen ones, or that there will be negative forces on it.. there will be. You must allow for only positive and realize that evil and fear is the opposite of love and can't co-exist anywhere. Keep your expectations only on positive, loving angels and that is what you will receive. I highly reccommend "The Angels Talk" and would love to talk to someone else who has experienced similar experiences with it.
