By now, Dre's musical influence acting as a template for other Producers has grown to such a common knowledge in the industry that it doesn't need saying anymore. However, one point that could stand a little more attention is how dre has single handedly managed to turn rap into a Producers game on the mainstream level. Prior to Dre's celebrity, producers enjoyed the limelight either in their own circles, on the undergroud or in front of the camera if they were the song and dance type. But after dre, suddenly everyone is checking to see who produced what song. This is not to say that DJ's were anonymous all this time, but certainly Dre has pushed our recent facination of them into the spotlight.

Part of this facination has raised the question: "What is it exactly that Producers do?" Lesser known producers have tried to answer this question and more often than not we are left unsatisfied. Maybe because what we are all really wondering is "What is it exactly that Dr.Dre does?" And that's where this book becomes what most fans, inquirers and even skeptics have been waiting for.

First, it might be helpful to describe what the book isn't: It isn't current, though you can tell it wishes that it was. This book apparently was not a passport inside the studio while Dr.Dre works his magic. So you're not going to find a recent, first hand account of Dre orchestrating, producing, conducting, coaching or guiding his musicians and artists. Descriptions like that happened after the Chronic, when a journalist described Dre taking a sample and re-shaping it with his own sounds. BTW, this early description is recounted in this book. But it's not clear if this is how Dre still crafts his beats. Surely his production methods have evolved.

You also won't find any new material or interviews with the man himself. But this is a mild dissapointment that passes when you realize that the author has taken the time to make a gumbo soup of quotes that came from the people who have worked with Dre over the years. Like the Ronin-Ro biography, most of these quotes are blow backs from interviews I read already. But having various sources under the same roof validating each other should at long last bring closure to some of the controvesy surrounding Dre's studio habits.

The most helpful and insightful pieces to this book are the quotes from the "2001" co-producer Mel-Man. His interviews and excerpts are entirely new (as far as I can tell) and save the book from being nothing more than a re-hashing of old information. Mel confronts and conclusively answers all those lingering questions about Dre stealing credit from other producers and more importantly what it is that a Producer like Dr.Dre does exactly in the studio. It helps that Mel's response are concise and well articulated -- a big relief compared to the choppy responses we usually get from rap artists. Mel-Man's contributions to this book alone justify the cost of this book.

Those who have been anticipating the release of "Detox" will be even more anxious once they get through the last chapter of this book. Both Mel-Man and Scott Storch give some curious clues as to what to expect for Dre's last and most anticipated body of solo work yet. According to Storch, the results heard thus far are overwhelming.

This is definitely a book to have. Aside from a few embarrassing typos (which made me wonder if I had been sent a working copy), I was really satisfied at the end of my read. This is probably as good as we're going to get until Detox hits the streets, at which point we won't need a biographer since the music will undoubtedly speak for itself.

My 15 month old son is being raised bilingual. This book is one of his favorites becuase it combines Spanish and flaps to open and is durable! Sometimes he 'reads' it by himself and laughs when he sees the baby. It also uses simple vocabulary and is a good starter book for people who don't speak Spanish.

This book is nothing special, just a bunch of very simple crossword puzzles. The first half have English clues, and the second have French clues. I don't know how educational it is, it's just some easy practice for a beginner of French, maybe someone who has done one semester of a college course.

The book is so cheap though that it's a good purchase. Maybe the larger and more popular books are better, but they often run as high as $20. At least you know that you'll get your money's worth with this one!

I bought this game to use with a low level adult ESL class. The students love bingo and loved the chance to learn new vocabulary while having fun at the same time. Learning and laughing at the same time - what a novel concept. And the students seem to remember the words they learn this way.

The first 17 pages of this book deals with safety,materials, molds,gel subjects,types of embeds,how to place embeds,wicks and positioning wicks, coloring/scents,using glitter, containers,and decorating containers. This is neat in it's own way because it gets that stuff out of the way, while other authors use it to fill up their books.

This book : looks at container use,using a glue gun to decorate,using sequins,making a small aquarium,using glitter stars,using mini tree lights, using charms,using chenille,using bells,snow candles,a very nice rock/gel candle in a plastic tub,using dried foods/spices,crystal look candles,shell candles,costume jewelry candles,musical notes with wire candles,a neat hoop of beads inside of the candle,jagged edged colored candles,layered, towers of colors inside of gel candle,pearls and goldleaf candles,and sushi candles.

This book would be good for the beginner because it lists many things in the get started part at the front of the book. I am the kind of person who has some ideas, but needs to see other ideas too. If you are this type of person this book does offer great pics throughout, directions, and material lists. This is not my favorite, but I'm very glad that I bought it for the ideas and some of the instructions at the front are very informing. Easy format.

This book takes you through all of the Fifa soccer teams. It even talks about the teams in depth, like about their past history of goals and victories, and even in losses. It takes you to the best players on those teams and tells the victories or losses that the player had on the team. On the players, it will also tell you all the clubs they were part of and their avarage goals they made in the past. So I think think this book is really good for you if you love a lot of European International Soccer. Even some of it will take you through the Ebglish football scene.

The book makes a useful contribution to the conservation and development debate by tracing the history and the implications of the gazetting (closing off) of the Mkomazi grasslands of Tanzania. But rather than just tracing out this history and its sorry implications, the author goes further to make the normative claim, buttressed by evidence, that the gazetting of Mkomazi was inappropriate, indeed wrong since the existing populations were adversely affected by the loss of land and associated colonial and post colonial extortions. Maasai herders should not, therefore, have been excluded from the Reserve. An impressive body of evidence is brought to bear on the central question of effects of exclusionary conservation on local populations in this part of East Africa. Extensive fieldwork and archival investigation has been carried out, including survey-based human ecology measurement of pastoral welfare and livelihoods. The author has a sparse, clear and whimsical writing style. The book stands up well as an empirical study, although the broader literature and `debates' on African livelihood systems and resource access could be addressed more.

Great resource for teaching about Latin American artisits and culture. The project ideas were original and the background information was very helpful.

I thought this was a great book for learning more about The Bible. There are many facts that you don't even notice until it is broken down to the ridiculous. This book gave me many laughs and challenges. This book is a great gift for any Christian, especially trivia buffs.

There are six sturdy little stencils in this book. The pages are easily detachable, and the designs are pre-cut. You can use them to put pictures on walls, windows, cards, or wherever. The pages are cardstock, reasonably protected against paints or markers. The animals presented are a zebra, a panther, a lion, an elephant, a giraffe, and a rhinoceros.
