I have this book (two books in one) titled with "Hunters life among lions,elephants, and other wild animals of South Africa" published in 1856. The more than 600 pages of travel, hunting, and near escapes will keep you reading. Cummings is not long winded on his tales at all, more facts would be nice. but still you will love his hunts and the thrilling escapes using the old muzzle- loader, stalking, hunting from horseback etc. htl ky

Truly excellent resource. I just switched grade levels and now teach 4-6 reading and writing. Fantastic, unique ideas and activities. Very helpful to building my curriculum. I would recommend as easy to read and implement resource.

This book will please young readers. They get to read a great book and do a fun puzzle at the same time. Each book in the series has a different reading emphasis that helps children as they learn to real. My nephew loves his books.

This is another great book by this team of authors who really know how to present information in a lively, easy to read format, with wonderful illustrations! Book features new crafts revolving around themes from the books and the period, time lines of events happening in the world during Laura's time, information about the real life stories of the Ingalls and Wilder families. An enjoyable book for child or adult readers with lots of projects that can be done together. If you have not read the other Collins / Eriksson books, I highly recommend searching though Amazon for the others, they are all fantastic!

This book represents the tip of the iceberg for anybody who is interested in finding out more about the history of the internet, and the development of creative Web design.

It shows some of the most progressive works and talks to some of the most influential people from many aspects of the Web design arena. Trying to make the culture of creative Web design more accessible to the uninitiated, this book is a great starting point for those interested in it, but wanting to find out more about a diverse community of creative thinkers who are tired of a medium that can all too often be bland and uninspiring.

I am extremely pleased with this book. Of all the math-centers books I have, I keep coming back to this one. (As well as the K-1 version, which I also highly recommend.) The centers are easy to set up and don't take any weird, hard-to-find materials. Also, they are not very complicated so my students understand how to do them after me showing them just once. The centers are also really relevant-- relating perfectly to the standards I teach. The students enjoy the hands-on math action and I see how much it helps the students get a deeper understanding. I highly recommend this book!

I loved the first edition because it mentioned one of the early competitors training for the iron man while living out his van and training himself and others at a health club. This was an inspiratiion to me as an ex-marine/student who lived in his van while attending college and working out/showering in the gym.

My motivation to write this review on an out of print book, was because I would be the first to review it, but I have always referred to the author when people questioned my ability to thrive on a van-lifestyle. My goal was to buy a house by paying for it in cash, but my life has taken a different turn. In any event I am almost 40 years old, in great shape, and have only paid rent for six months in my life.

I grew up listening by transistor radio to Bob Wolff broadcast the old Washington Senators baseball games. Always colorful, innovative and multi-faceted, he brings back to life countless memories of some of sports most glorious moments, as well as some humorous ones which never went reported. His book is a throwback to sports of a simpler and purer era, before the days of multi-million dollar contracts and superstar scandals. Those who remember that time will revel in the reminicences of the author's accounts, and those who weren't will learn of sports as they once were...and as they will never be again. Bob Wolff has been duly recognized as a member of Baseball's Hall of Fame, and his book is a record of his legacy to today's sports broadcaster and fan. For anyone who truly loves sports, we owe him a debt of gratitude.
