I could not put this book down. I live just outside of Houston and the history of the city included along with the history of this crime was just incredible. This is one of those bizzare stories that pretty much defies description, but amazingly enough, it's all true! I have actually met Leslie Perez in passing, and the author has really captured her (and her mother) here. Entertaining (and scary) for everyone but those from Houston will especially appreciate it!

For 30 years or so, John O'Keefe has been the wild man of San Francisco theater--writing extraordinary plays that are true to his own vision without pandering to the middle brow tastes of most of the works of American regional theater. There is no one to compare him to in this country: his work retains the authentic avant-garde spirit of anarchy, blasphemy, and profanity that Alfred Jarry introduced a century ago (and which has been so debased and commercialized in the past decades) while possessing Joyean flights of language. Even his most recent plays, set around World War II and surprisingly controlled for works by O'Keefe, are actually deeply subversive in our post-9/11 era.

The Deatherians is one of O'Keefe's greatest works--and certainly his most shocking. An antic tale of sex and death set in Amsterdam's red light district, it defies easy summarization and the themes that tumble out of its richly profane language are countless: American crassness, science fiction, commercialism, technology, marriage, eroticism, love, and so on and so on. And it's a musical! To use a popular piece of post-modern cant, this is one of the most truly TRANSGRESSIVE works of our time. If you're serious about your transgressiveness and not just playacting in your tattoos and piercings, read this book.

Whether you make your own candles to decorate or buy them from the store, this is a great book with lots of interesting projects -- something for everyone. The complexity of projects varies, so if you're in the mood for being creative but don't want to spend the whole day at it, you'll be sure to find something that suits you. Definitely a book to have in your collection.

I am a homeschooler. My son is a very visual and hands-on learner, so when he learned math using paper and pencil calculations only, he would quickly forget the concepts by the next day. I searched the internet for math games to reinforce conceptual understanding of decimals for my son. I think this is an exceptional book filled with fun and interesting methods to reinforce math concepts. It relates math to the real world in many of the activities.

Some activites are not really games, but are still interesting ways to present concepts. I plan to buy all of Lynette Long's math activity books!

Lots of ideas! The book shows all types of cards and tags using collage effects. Scrapbookers and altered book artists will have a head start with their supplies to make many of these. It makes use of all sorts of bits and pieces (cardstock, beads, stickers, decorated paper, buttons, text from books, etc.).
Each example includes a full page picture in color, and a page listing materials and step-by-step instructions to create the card or tag. There are all occasions, like birthdays, halloween, winter, love, new baby, thanks, etc. It will keep me busy a long time trying out the different techniques and ideas.

If your looking for an in depth book on how to investigate, look elsewhere. The book covers basic equipment usage and terms reference. And aside from the many typos you'll encounter, there isn't much to surprise the amateur hunter.

This is a wonderful book for ghost hunters of all ages and stages of expertise. If you are a beginer or someone who has hunted for a while you will enjoy this book.

I have all of roger moreau's maze books, they are all creative, interesting and unique. Well worth your time!!

The Sourcebook is an excellent resource for people new to diversity training as well as those who want to add new information and tools to existing trainings. The book provides innovative curriculum, handout and overhead suggestions to create or enhance diversity trainings. I have found the information and tools to be very valuable

I have had this wonderful book for over 3 years and it is full of ideas, patterns and embellishments for porcelain dolls of all kinds. It is a treasure chest in bookform for dollmakers. It is also a beautiful coffee table book that interests my guests.
