Noah's Ark, Another favorite Action Rhyme Book

Children are encouraged to hammer with Noah as they "bang fist on fist." They can listen to God with Noah as he receives instructions on building an ark. The action suggestions will find the child prowling like a lion, swinging like a monkey, hopping like a frog. The amazing illustrations of Chris Saunderson allow the reader to sense the feeling of raindrops, and the rocking of the boat as the water rises. Stephanie Jeffs has provided narrative that allows the early reader to learn the basic of the story of Noah and his obedience to God's plan. Another Old Testament Bible Story from the Action Rhyme series designed to make learning fun.

This title, part of the Action Rhyme Series from New Day Publishing, gives parents, RE teachers, and Christian daycare providers a fun and nicely illustrated text for teaching the story of Noah and the Ark. Each 16 page book in the series is a treat, and with the actions suggested, each is a nice solution to the "wiggles" that often affect 3-6 year olds.

A good introduction for the story of Noah and the Ark, easy to understand, and with the hand signs and movements, you can capture the children's attention and get them involved.

My 3-1/2 year old daughter loves this book! The colorful dot pictures motivated her to use her pencils and markers to connect the dots all by herself. The dot-to-dot activities also helps her with her numbers. And, of course, she loves to find out what dinosaur is revealed once she finishes. I've been known to complete one or two of the pictures myself!

Our almost 6 year old boy will go through these really quickly (and he has 2 younger brothers who will like them sometime) so I cut the pages out of this book and slipped them inside Mead's sheet protectors for 3-ring binders. He completes the puzzles with overhead markers and then when he is done (or makes a mistake) we wipe it off with a wet cloth and it is like new again! He likes mazes, too, so I plan to do the same with the Usborne maze books.

This is a VERY FUNNY book for teenagers to draw in. Actually I think many adults would love it too. Those Klutz people sure have a sense of humor. I laughed so much at some of the pictures I was crying! My 19 year old daughter is into drawing and she loves it too. Is very creative and gets young people to have fun while drawing. I recommend it highly for any teen. The only thing I didn't like was a picture of a witch, but that's easily dealt with, we just cover it up. I would not recommend this for children younger than 10,maybe not even younger than 12, because they would not fully appreciate the humor of the book, and the feel of the book, in my opinion, would not fit the appropriate spirit of childhood. Children need to be children, and I don't see this as a book for children, more for teens and adults.

When I got this book my friends and I had a fun time drawing in it on the bus rides. It was so funny some of the pictures we came up with! It also makes a good book to bring on air plane trips. It was a great icebreaker with the strangers sitting next to me on the plane! It was funny seeing some of the adults draw the funniest pictures ever! Thanx klutz for some more great memories!

Everything came on time , and that's a big plus for me. The crossword puzzles are great but remember you have to know all of your kanji and some japanese words to have any fun! There's also a dictionary in the back to help. It really makes you think and learn and that's what this is for! Buy it!

A great vocabulary review for beginning and intermediate Japanese language students.

Each puzzle has a different theme and each theme has both a Japanese to English puzzle, and one from English to Japanese.

There's an answer section, and there's a J-E, E-J dictionary with all the words used in the puzzles.

The cover of this book tells one NOTHING about who wrote it. I happened onto it through a puzzler friend who knows I am a fan of Terry Stickels. It is a great compilation of some of the best and most interesting puzzles around, and people who have favorite puzzle writers will never find this book. I agree with the other review I saw--why would you put the EDITORS names on the front, and not the authors???

Great puzzles by Terry Stickels

Review Date: 2007-08-26
This is a great book of puzzles and that is fully illustrated and that adds a good deal to the quality of this fine book. The major contributor to the book is puzzle author Terry Stickels, famous for his FrameGames and Stickelers and his national and inter-national syndicated puzzle columns. Amazon has incorrectly shown the authors to be other than those who actually wrote the puzzles. The two authors mentioned are the editors. Most people who buy books of puzzles are quite interested in whose puzzles they are and could often care less about the editors. This book is a case in point. It is hoped that Amazon will update their listing to show the true scope of this book and especially to mention the major author.

You have no idea how shy and unconfident I used to be around women. I really was scared to approach women and didn't know what to say, or how to control that feeling in side me that just kept on panicking whenever I liked someone.

You only live once and it is great to have that area of my life sorted now. After dating some truly hot women, I have met someone who I like a lot, we've been going out for over a month now and I don't believe this would have happened without the help of this book help!

By far the best book i've ever read on the experience of dating and meeting women. Don't be fooled by what seems to be a shortfall in proof-reading. This book was brilliantly designed in such a way to make you understand the ART of a woman's mindset with no beating around the bush, so to speak. I bought this book because at the time of my purchase every single review was 5 star. There seemed to be nothing in any of the twenty-some reviews that drew on any negativity. I now know why! This certainly isn't brain surgery, just what every MAN needs to know, put into the most common form.
If you your name is Don Jaun don't buy it. If you want to be more successful with the fairer sex, snatch it up! Education in it's simplest form.

After reading this book, from the moment I walk to different places, such as streets, cinemas, restaurant, stores etc. women start checking me out. They try to make eye contact with me which is AWSOME! This has never happened to me before. Which means that I have a new found confidence that women find very attractive. And it's all because of this great book and the crucial information that I've learned from it! I am finding it so much easier to meet nice women.
Thank you so much, Michael, for all of your help and inspiration. You should be proud of the work you are doing!

I began teaching music 21 years ago, and this was the first book of music games I used. I had to leave it behind at that school. Well, 19 years later I have found it again! It is the best book of music games out there! I have tried many! All of the games are easy to understand and easy to use. The kids love these games to learn music concepts. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to find the book again after a very long wait!

Shinn is an author whose work transcends time and culture. The Game of Life for Women: And How to Play it is necessary read for today's woman. Inherently women read numerous magazines and publications to learn how to become more confident, become successful, meet the person they can love forever, develop higher self-esteem, and much more. Why waste the money month after month when you can own such a wonderful, life-changing book that will empower you from day one. Shinn tells stories of how other women have changed their world for the better through the positive power of Jesus Christ, speaking loving and positive thoughts about themselves, and becoming a cheerful giver. Shinn reminds us that the Kingdom of God is within us and God is the source of all our good, and our supply. There really is not anything a woman cannot have if she puts God first and changes her attitude (which shapes her words). Life is a Game and this book teaches you how to play to win!

If this book's photographs represent only a fraction of Mr. Brace's total collection of negatives, then more should be rolling off the presses. Not only do they offer a great glimpse into a glorious past, the captions are equally superb. This is a work that's more than baseball: it's American history.

Martin has done a remarkable job of telling a very difficult story of the inter-relationships between the first people of Canada, the new world order people of European ancestry and the animals. I am Mi'maq and reading the history took be back to a time and an appreciation of what was a part of life. My hats off to Martin for telling a story that needed to be told!

Great read for many reasons

Review Date: 2004-12-03
This book is a great read for many reasons. One that may not get mentioned, but strikes me as important, is the demonstration of how social rules and the environment relate to economic markets. In short: the relationship of the native North American tribes to the fur markets was conditioned by their culture which went through a sudden, tragic, transformation.

A different view of Native-European contact
Helpful Votes: 9 out of 9 total.
Review Date: 2001-06-23
Scholarly works are not supposed to entertain but Martin's interesting ideas about the cultural confrontation between the First People and the first Europeans makes for fascinating reading. He challenges several accepted views about Native population decline resulting from disease and warfare which are sure to spark disagreement; yet his logic is difficult to refute and the perspectives he offers provide new directions for research. Martin manages to avoid casting anyone into the roles of oppressor and victim by presenting the sequence of events as the result of rational decisions by both cultural groups. While anthropologists and sociologists will certainly find "Keepers" of interest, anyone who teaches cultural diversity or provides diversity training will also benefit from this work. General readers will enjoy asking themselves if their ancestors could have been involved in the events Martin describes.
