As GW would say "No course left behind" - this book covers them all. Brief overview of each course. I've played most courses in Texas in the metro areas and I can atest to the accuracy and completeness of this book. I have not found a single course, which I have played, not covered - and accurately depicted, in this book.

I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Texas and needing a comprehensive golf guide - or for a "local" just to have the contact info at your finger tips.

A Noble Sport

Review Date: 2005-08-09
I loved this book. Through pictures and words the book conveys the sport, and the grit and guts of the players who play the game with honor and respect. While the words convey the sport as a dual between opponents the fact that the "guys" have the highest principles and a mindset that make them all round winners comes through with each and ever player. A thoroughly enjoyable book.

A wonderful gift for any lover of the sport.

Gave insightful tips and clues on how to become focused and stay that way... to enter the "zone" without having to be so serious that fun is gone. showed me how to teach myself out of trouble rather than "forming" myself into mistakes. easily read and understandable..

Most positive impact of any game improvement method.

If you're willing to work at it, just a little, this book on tape will give you a positive method for developing great mental attitude and a chance to eliminate negative, destructive thoughts that injure your game.

My pro always said I wasn't an 18, but an average of a 9 and a 27. By applying Cohn's principals my handicap dropped from 17 to 12 in six weeks. And I hope to go further.

One of Golf's Great Ambassadors

This is such an enjoyable read, which reads much like what one would think after hearing Gene do the color on Shell's Wonderful World of Golf.

There is just one delightful story after another about Sarazen's life in golf, which began as many others did of his day in caddying. He didn't come from country club family. Italian immigrants, he changed his name"Saraceni" eventually to Sarazen. Great story about initial caddy experience, where he didn't even know about the tee (which the caddy was supposed to take care of.)

From his infamous double eage at Augusta to his touching story with the elderly caddy Daniels and their win at The British, this book is jammed packed with golf told through the eyes of a man who played alongside the like of Vardon, Cotton, Armour, Snead, Hogan and Hagen, among others.

What a fascinating insight into not only this wonderful champion and his life and development, but the development of the game so many of us receive such great enjoyment from ourselves.

Golfing lost a true champion when Gene departed several years ago. Classy man.

Incredible book on the day in the life of a PGA touring pro. Davis Love III happens to be my favorite as well and I live in LA and this covers a week at the Nissan/LA Open back in 1992. Great book on the mental aspects of the game and what a pro goes through. Also has some interesting insights to the PGA pro community (caddies, practice habits, etc.)

Explains that Tiger is talented but that he earns his rewards
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2006-02-25
Written for children in grades 2-3, this is an excellent book about success and how hard it is to be successful. Despite all his talent, Tiger practices hard, often hitting as many as 1000 balls in a day. He also changed his diet, eating more healthy foods rather than those filled with fat. This is one of the most important lessons that children can earn. When they see a baseball player hit a home run, a basketball player make a shot or a golfer hit that great shot, children need to know that the player has done that thousands of times in practice.
Tiger Woods is one of the best role models for children today and I strongly recommend that children read this book.

Tiger Woods is one of the greatest athletes living today. Not only is he a great golfer, he is a great person. He shares his money with clinics that help young people learn to play golf.I liked the book because it told his life story and showed what a winner he is.
