an understanding of the various ways that masters from different eras viewed the golf swing. a must for anyone trying to figure out this game, especially instructors. not a bore.....

Stephen King look out! There's a contender to the throne: Lorne Rubenstein! "Nice shot!" This farcical romp across the groomed fairways and country clubs of the PGA Tour has our protaganist, Mike Weir, hitting nice golf shots while standing on the less popular side of the ball. The book is organized into "chapters" and contains words of all shapes and sizes. Adjectives are particularly descriptive as are adverbs, in the case of describing action words or "verbs". Colorful stuff. The photography is excellent and may have been taken with a digital camera of the highest pixelation! I hope, in the future, that Mike doesn't, like Fuzzy Zoeller, put his golf shoe in his mouth and utter racially insensitive comments involving chicken. This book is a page turner extraordinaire that is sure to join the ranks of "Tom Sawyer" and "Hamlet" as a page turners extraordinaire. Kudos for a fabulous book of words about golf. Fore!

This book covers everything from building a mental and physical routine to concentration, relaxation, confidence, visualization and the conversations we have with ourselves on and off the golf course -- that affect performance. I've been able to apply these thoughtful recommendations off the golf course as well. This is a book for both life and golf. It is beautifully illustrated too. Outstanding!

Although I'm not an avid golfer, I picked up this book because I liked its title. I found the book easy to read, informative, and down to earth. The matter-of-fact, no-nonsense approach has helped to keep me focused on my game. I now keep the book in my golf bag and refer to it during my rounds. Probably a good reminder for some, but a definite must for most of us.

Great book that you can pick-up and read any section in any order. Good overview of the uniqueness of golf and money. Full of funny and informative stories. Anyone with any interest in sports or golf will find this book interesting.

In addition to a fascinating golf story written with accuracy, humor and imagination, it was a joy to visualize the English landscape through the eye of a portrait artist. I read Mr Ryder's Trophy in one day. I couldn't stop.

The book goes into great detail about the course and the champions who have won their as well as the history of the club and the personalities that have graced it's history. It is a must read for any true fan of golf history
