Basketball Books

Book gives positioning for every conceivable offensive and defensive set a team might throw at you. It teaches transition movement, ball-passing movement, shot movement. It stresses that in order to be a good ref you MUST understand the game itself and be able to anticipate what's coming next. It teaches you to recognize offenseive sets (man-to-man and zone, and the nuances of each subsequent variation) and the proper positioning. Unbeleiveably thorough and easy to understand. Well written. For instance, it suggests you wear a white t-shirt under your stripes (as opposed to black, recommended by most associations) because it makes your stripes look brighter and cleaner! A subtle, subconscious advantage that goes to making you LOOK like a referee! BUY THIS BOOK AND BE A BETTER REFEREE!!! (When is the three-man version coming out?)

I reccomend this book to everyone.

It was one of the best books I've read. It was so good, that I read it in almost 5 or 6 hours. I recently took a standardized test, and in my extra time, I read the book, and never wanted to put it down. It is basically about basketball, and life. It is about a boy, named kim, who plays basketball and sings in a choir. In the book, you learn about what kind of coices he makes, being a singer, and a basketball player. I recomend this book to every one. It is an excellent book, and I would really like to read it again. It was that good!!!!!!!!

For the sake of full disclosure, I am close friends with Dave and also did the video editing on this project. But it is from this close proximity that I can offer my thoughts and opinions on Dave Lemanczyk and Basketball Strength Volume I.

As for the man, I haven't come across too many people that work as hard as Dave in every area of life, from the basketball court, to the weight room, to the business world, to human relationships, Dave puts 100% of his energy and concentration on making things right and doing the right thing. This is a man, who for 3 years I went to battle against and with on the hardwood. We would literally get as close to a fist fight, without fighting, every practice, because we both knew that this type of intensity would spill over to games and get our team wins. Dave's the type of guy you give an elbow to, get one right back, but the minute you step off the court he's cracking jokes and having a great time. Conditioning and off season work was no different we would push ourselves till we vomited, and even back then Dave was searching and exploring unique and effective ways to challenge our bodies.

As for the product? I think it marks the beginning of filling a huge void in the area of basketball specific conditioning. There's not many products out there to begin with and the ones that are out there are shoddy and incomplete at best. Dave put effort into this project like he played ball. The book is comprehensive with theory and explanation of the exercises and the benefits they produce. While the DVD is a stunning display consisting of more explanation, visual demonstration step by step, motivational material, and the most unique exercises the sport has seen. I put all my skills and experience into producing a high quality DVD with beautiful menus and features, professional editing, awesome effects, and inspirational background music that will make you want to watch again and again. I'm happy to say that we produced a product that I am extremely proud of, and one that you will be very happy with.

I read basketball talk and I suggest it for anybody who likes basketball. I learned some new things about basketball and some things I already knew.There are a lot of rules in basketball and you have to remember them.

There are a few new things I learned about baseball games from this book. I learned what OPS is. This book is especially good if you like records.

Floyd Conner has compiled one of the finest basketball trivia books ever published. It covers a wide variety of topics ranging over many levels of basketball play and participation. The most attention-getting, eye-popping and utterly unbelievable ( but true ) feat mentioned in this wonderful basketball book is the fact that the Swedish schoolboy Mats Wermelin once scored 272 points in a single basketball game in which his team won 272-0. It would have improved the listing of that accomplishment if the author had given the reader a detailed statistical breakdown analysis of that 272 point game. What were the circumstances of that game? How many points did Mats Wermelin score in each quarter of that game? What were his field goal and free throw percentages during that game? What was the seasonal scoring average of points-per-game by Mats Wermelin that year he scored a one-game total of 272 points? What occurred to Mats in his life thereafter that mind-boggling game, etc.?
All basketball oddity and anecdotal buffs should possess a copy of this infinitely intriguing book.

Both my boys loved the book- they are 12 and 10 years old- neither plays basketball- one is a soccer player and the other fences- but they certainly found they could relate to the characters and the dilemmas they faced- any parent who has sat on the sidelines watching their child play a sport can relate as well- has a nice message- we often give copies of this book as a bday gift-

This book is a good learning tool to use in informing others.
