Tuesday's game was great! It was so phat. I think the blazers are ill. The best part was when pippen sunk that 3 to win by 1. Bryon Russell was gaurding him but pippen faked him out and launced the long range 3-pointer from way downtown.Pippen was throwing excellent passes 2 his teammates. Stoudamire was outstanding. This is a great book with a lot of background. So many great "Alisms!"

This is plenty of story about a team that is larger than life.

This book is great i recomend it to all allen iverson fans this is the best biogarphy ive read in a long time I give it 5 stars.

Walter Walker is an excellent, regrettably overlooked crime writer with a terrific ear for contemporary vernacular speech, an aptitude for the devious plot, and a mordant view of human nature. Walker's first book, "A Dime to Dance By" (~1982), told the story of a lawyer fighting local political corruption and skullduggery involving an old graveyard (no pun intended) in the City of Quincy, Mass. I greatly enjoyed that book when I was a starting attorney.

Walker brings his incisive wit this time to the professional basketball arena. A profit obsessed, self-made, supermarket chain owner has just purchased the Golden Gaters, an underachieving San Francisco team. Walker's rich character palate includes the burnt out coach Booby Sinclair, his star forward, W.E.B. Pancake, and a doomed sports scribbler who uncovers evidence for a sinister cause of the team's losing ways.

This book is a wonderful read that begins with a moment of bathos as the new owner's locker room speech to his team is nearly drowned out by a growing chorus of farts. It continues with excellent descriptions of basketball play and practice, good character development, and creative plot twists. Each sentence may be savored.

We should pray that the author's San Francisco personal injury law practice loses its appeal enough and that this talented writer will pick up his authorial pen again soon. If you like John T. Lescroart and George V. Higgins, you'll love Walter Walker.

Zinkoff was a legendary Philly sportcaster , considered one of the best in the business. Here he recounts a trip going around the world with the Harlem Globetrotters.
For those who don't know, the Globetrotters were an all- black basketball team formed in the days when blacks did not have access to the professional leagues. The moving spirit , great promoter and real maker of the Globetrotters was Abe Saperstein. The Trotters started as a serious team who showed the world that blacks could be as good or even better than whites. But when the professional leagues opened to blacks, the Trotters changed their style and became an entertainment troupe. In this capacity they played usually against the same team they traveled with the Washington Generals. The Trotters in this capacity also had a winning streak of over eight- thousand games.
Among the greats and great entertainers of the Trotters were pivot man, and key prankster Goose Tatum, and the kings of dribble first Marques Haynes, and then Meadowlark Lemon.
The Trotters gave a lot of entertainment for a long time in America.
This book is about the early days and does not tell about the whole set of transformations the Trotters were to go through in time.

It has been a while since a team from the Atlantic Division has won the NBA title, but this volume of the "Above the Rim: The NBA Library" series explains to young fans that some of these teams have enjoyed glory days in the past. In "Atlantic Division" Jim Gigliotti looks at the history of the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, and Washington Wizards, focusing not only on championship teams but star players and great coaches. Gigliotti provides a nice balance between the past and the present for each team, so that young fans who follow Allen Iverson learn about Wilt Chamberlain as well. If there is a weakness in this book compared to the others it is that the role players on championship teams are not mentioned as often.

Of course these volumes will quickly become outdated: Tracy McGrady is already on his way out of Orlando and who knows what other trades will happen before and during the draft this week, but the history lessons here make up for being behind the headlines. "Atlantic Division" is illustrated with photographs of superstar NBA players, with both black & white shots of the likes of Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, and Dr. J along with color shots of Larry Bird, Jason Kidd, Shaquille O'Neal, and Elvin Hayes. The back of this book includes all time team records, as well as the career leaders in points and rebounds for each franchise, and members of the Naismith Memorial National Basketball Hall of Fame from each team. There is also a Glossary of terms from "armory" to "stymied," along with a Time Line of the history of the division, Books and Web sites for additional information about the Atlantic Division and the NBA, and an Index.
