The daily news, or perhaps even more important the minute's news, can be of vital importance in business operations. The impact of a terrorist bomb in Saudi Arabia or a sudden hailstorm in the American midwest can dramatically alter the prices on commodity contracts.

Fortunately there exist services on the web that provide up to the minute news alerts at little or no cost (although there are premium offerings as well). This book has researched 27 news alert services that it has analyzed in detail and many more that it covers in a more general manner.

One interesting thing about their analysis is that they go into great detail about the criteria they used in their analysis. This allows you to potentially change the rankings depending on your evaluation of their criteria. Screen shots of most of the sites illustrate what they consider to be the strengths and weaknesses of that site's approach.

This book would be a valuable time saver, and if it identifies a site you don't know about could prove invaluable.

When it seems like the religious world keeps taking hit after hit, this manual gives strategies and tactics to go on the offense and make use of these controversies.
Rather than just being defensive; why shouldn't organized religion use the publicity from alternative religious-history books and movies, and make a positive from a negative; to educate the public and reaffirm faith.

The Circle Weave is a beautiful and groundbreaking work. These days there are many epic fantasy comics on the web, but Indigo Kelligh's Circle Weave is the one that started them all. When it first launched shortly after the turn of the millennium it was unique in it's field, the full-color artwork and epic tone had not been seen before in a webcomic. It still stands out today as one of the finest examples of the genre. Check it out!

This is a funny book but not in a gentle "cheeful" way. The main character, John, is a bureaucrat and a "flunky" for higher-ups, and he is desperate for any kind of social and professional success. The humor comes from his interactions with all kinds of flakes and hustlers in high education (something I've learned about here at Michigan State University) "Flunky"'s style is high energy--it's stylistically one of the most accomplished novels (e-books or otherwise) that I've enjoyed in a long time.

Did William Clifford, the young priest of a small Welsh village, commit adultery or not?

Pat Knight tells Bill, the journalist sent to cover this story and who thinks "...a vicar that does actually manage to keep his trousers on, now that's news", "...I wouldn't say anything to you or anyone else that I haven't already said, or would say, to his face. Is William guilty as charged? Yes, of course he is; he's been at it for years. He's not fussy, so long as it's female, willing and not too ugly, he's in there like a rat up a drain pipe."

However, in her trial testimony Mrs. Kathryn Williams stated, "If I were forced to give an opinion, I would say that William the priest probably would not be capable of such behavior. However, with regards to William the man, well - how can one put this delicately -? Let us just say that, in my experience, testosterone is usually more powerful than religion. I'm sure that priests are subject to the same temptations as other men, and I don't suppose that William is any different. As to whether or not he succumbed, I'm afraid I have no idea." And there you have it, the heart of this tale-what is the truth and who will tell it?

To this reader, the real key and fascination here is Trefor Stockwell's in-depth insight into human behavior-an obsessive form of love, control, pride, and revenge-and his skill to tell this compelling tale. His consummate style of writing puts him right up there with the best, and you won't be disappointed.

Dr. Watson is an impeccable gentleman who is also an excellent professor. Thus, it came as no surprise to me when I uncovered the depth and scope of his research on the collapse of Soviet communism. Dialectical materialism and Sovietology are clearly presented and I came away with a profound understanding as to why the great experiment of the twentieth century failed.
