This book has it all---fast-paced action and amazing illustrations. Casey and Derek on the Ice is packed with all the excitement
and unexpected twists and turns of the final, hotly-contested minutes of a real hockey game. My little hockey player loves
this story. I love this story

My son loves this story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat hoping that somehow, someway the hockey-playing brothers,
Casey and Derek, can help their team snatch victory from the brink of defeat. A must-have book for hockey families or anyone
who loves a good "never-say-die" story.

in this sport ever made. The pricing is also up to date. I have found it to be a valuable resource for myself, my store

Everything i had hoped for when i first saw it... a thorough introduction to the sports psychology of ice hockey, though
it could certainly be applied to any sport or any competitive performance endeavor. this book allowed me to really improve
several things i have been working on - productive visualization, mental preparation for games, and controlling destructive
emotions like frustration and apprehension. it's a well written book with tons of examples and stories from NHL and other
players. i had to write all over it, too, which is always a sign of something i really use. i plan to continue rereading
it and integrating the techniques into my play and development. in addition to the main part, there are special chapters
on offense and scoring, playing d, playing goal, and rehab. good stuff. like i said, i think this book is a major positive
addition to anyone's training program.
Great Book for Playing Better Hockey, and Life Too!

This is a very readable book with some excellent mental coaching tips. It describes a number of techniques for managing emotions
and using power thinking and imagery that I have found to be very useful. I liked the chapters on a winning attitude and what
it takes "to make it" in the NHL. I thought they offered some practical suggestions to build confidence, and mental toughness.
The strength of the book for me is that it is very practical. There are lots of excellent stories and examples that illustrate
the author's experience and techniques. And I like how he relates his observations and advice to what many NHL players and
coaches have to say about their mental game. I would recommend it to any hockey player or coach.

The Hockey News recently listed the 100 most influential people in hockey. Read "Crunch" and you'll know why Kevin Allen was
on that list. An informative and entertaining book that chronicles the sport's physical side, it's a MUST read for every
fan of the "Coolest Game on Earth"!

Kevin Allen shows why hockey is more than just a contact sport. He speaks of the grit and guts required to succeed in the
sport. It is also well written and the style does not become burdensome. This book is great.

East of Mourning is a fantastic new story, from up and coming novelist Micheal Markus. Markus leads the reader by the hand
into the dark and disturbing reality, that is minor hockey, in rural Canada. A twisted assortment of characters drive this
story at a fantastic pace and leaving you flushed at times, but always wanting more. Murder, Sex, Drugs, more sex, and of
course hockey. Well done!!!!!
I can't wait for the next installment.

Michael Markus' East Of Mourning is a superbly crafted dark comedy about the Great Canadian Dream gone bad for a frustrated
hockey coach and the young, talented hockey player upon whom he pins the last of his bitter dreams. Sex, drugs, rock and roll,
suicide, murder, and of course hockey all lurk within the eerily inviting pages of this dynamic and sharply framed literary
tableau. Aptly written in a literary style as fast-moving as the sport of hockey itself, East Of Mourning captures the imagination
and holds interest in its shadowy and wryly malefic way. Highly recommended.

I played field hockey about 9 years ago and recently my arm has been slightly twisted to coach middle school hockey. I had
forgotten all the basics of the game and this book is a quick to the point guide. I like the pictures it provides and the
drills. My goalie coach who had never even seen a game before has been able to use the book and apply it to coaching my goalies.
I definitly recommend this book whether you are a coach who is looking for a break down of skills or a player looking to improve
your game.

I borrowed this book from the local library for my sports loving 2-year-old daughter, and since then she has asked me to read
it every night. This is the first story I've read to her that has captured her attention for more than 15 minutes (it takes
us about 20 minutes to get through the story). The illustrations are wonderful, especially for the younger set, because I
can point to those things, like the different pieces of goalie equipment, that may be new to her vocabulary. What I found
to be most amazing about The Goalie Mask is the way it captured her interest about the great Habs team from the late 50's,
who would have thought that a two-year-old could be fascinated by the legend of Jacques Plante?!?!?!

This work represents the finest photo collection of GORDIE HOWE'S career to date. If YOU are old enough to remember the epic
battles between the Montreal Canadians and the Detroit Red Wings of the 1950's-60's, YOU can relive these times in photo
concepts - eg. Howe's 545 goal in the Montreal Forum eclipsing Rocket Richards's record and the 15 minute standing ovation
by Montreal fans; Howe's commentary on the Montreal dynasty once Jacque Plante and Jean Bellevue arrived on the hockey scene;
the skilled fis-ti-cuffs of Gordie Howe against bad boy, Lou Fontinato of the New York Rangers; and Howe's best picks of
NHL players he most admired! ... BUY TWO AND MAKE A FRIEND!

I read this book back in November of 1999. The co-author Frank Condron did an excellent job with Gordie Howe in putting this
historical book together. On top of the simple fact that a picture is worth 1,000 words. The whole book is a Hockey Pictoral
Treasure. Mr. Condron did an excellent job of writing this book. What I mean by that is. Simply because you don't feel
your reading Gordies words. Its like Mr. Howe is right next to you and he is pointing at each picture as you turn every
page. Also it is quite obvious after all the press, awards and fame, Gordie Howe is still a gentleman.
